Letter: Photocopy of original, 11" x 8.5" (27.9cm x 21.6cm)Letter from Eleanor M. Hosley, Executive Director, The Day Nursery Association of Cleveland, to Carol R. Lubin, Reston Virginia Foundation for Community Programs, Inc., November 29, 1967. Carol Lubin had sent a proposal for Reston's day care facility to the Day Nursery Association of Cleveland for recommendations. Eleanor Hosley, Executive Director of the Association, praises Reston's efforts in designing the children's center, however has one criticism. Hosley dislikes the idea of any facility constructed for babies and children, but accepts their necessity. She stresses that continuity of care-takers, on a daily and yearly basis, is one of the most important features in the development of toddlers. Hosley is overall impressed with the report and plans as a whole. Planned Communitiy Archives Collection, 444.14

    Calculations in generalised Lubin—Tate theory

In this paper, we study different extensions of local fields. For an arbitrary finite extension of the field of p-adic numbers K/Qp it is possible to describe, using the famous Lubin—Tate theory, its maximal abelian extension Kab/K and the corresponding Galois group. It is a Cartesian product of the groups appearing from the maximal unramified extension of K and a fully ramified extension obtained using the roots of some endomorphisms of the Lubin— Tate formal groups. Here, we are going to consider so-called generalised Lubin—Tate formal groups and the extensions that appear after adding the roots of their isomorphisms to the initial field. Using the fact that for a finite unramified extension Tm of degree m of the field K one of such formal groups coincides with a classical one, it became possible to obtain the Galois group of the extension (Tm)ab/K. The main result of the paper is explicit description of the Galois group of the extension (Kur)ab/K, where Kur is the maximal unramified extension of the field K. We also applied similar methods to the study of ramified extensions of K.The work is supported by Russian Science Foundation (grant N16-11-10200)

A QUOTIENT OF THE LUBIN–TATE TOWER

In this article we show that the quotientM/B(Qp){\mathcal{M}}_{\infty }/B(\mathbb{Q}_{p})of the Lubin–Tate space at infinite levelM{\mathcal{M}}_{\infty }by the Borel subgroup of upper triangular matricesB(Qp)GL2(Qp)B(\mathbb{Q}_{p})\subset \operatorname{GL}_{2}(\mathbb{Q}_{p})exists as a perfectoid space. As an application we show that Scholze’s functorH_{\acute{\text{e}}\text{t}}^{i}(\mathbb{P}_{\mathbb{C}_{p}}^{1},{\mathcal{F}}_{\unicode[STIX]{x1D70B}})is concentrated in degree one whenever\unicode[STIX]{x1D70B}is an irreducible principal series representation or a twist of the Steinberg representation ofGL2(Qp)\operatorname{GL}_{2}(\mathbb{Q}_{p}).</jats:p

Let Dk be the ring of integers of a finite extension of Q(_p), and let h ɛ Q≥(_0) be in its value group. This thesis considers the space of locally analytic functions of order h on Ok with values in Cp-. that is, functions that are defined on each disc of radius by a convergent power series. A necessary and sufficient condition for a sequence of polynomials, with coefficient in C(_p), to be orthogonal in this space is given, generalising a result of Amice [1] . This condition is used to prove that a particular sequence of polynomials defined in Schneider Teitelbaum [19] is not orthogonal

The idea of integrated transfer node for Lubin

In two earlier publications ([1], [2]) the Author approaches elements to form of transfer nodes (hubs), particularly rail connections with the bus. The model Solutions are described. This paper presents the example of a potential node for the city of Lubin based on the idea [3]. Currently in Lubin there is no passenger rail transport, and bus stops in regional and urban transport are located outside the city center. The presented concept aims to create an integrated transport hub located near the train station. It is assumed to reactivate of rail transport. Integration of transportation should enhance the importance of rail and public transport. In the longer term, the construction of the service center at the transfer node is assumed. Local government functions are planned among center services, which increase the importance of public transport in the region. The presented example can be a solution model, worthy to be followed in other Polish cities. Approximate rules for calculating the number of stops and other details of the transfer node allow to design of similar objects
