The dataset ”DBLP-CSR.zip” is derived from September 17, 2015 snapshot of dblp bibliography database. It contains the last 16 years (2000 − 2015) of publications records of 81 Computer Science Research conferences used for a study conducted in our paper Women in Computer Science Research- What is Bibliography Data Telling Us? published in ACM SIGCAS Computers and Society Newsletter, Volume 46, Issue 1, February 2016. Computing many faces in arrangements of lines and segments
We present randomized algorithms for computing many faces in an arrangement of lines or of segments in the plane, which are considerably simpler and slightly faster than the previously known ones. pn The main new idea is a simple randomized O(n log n) expected time algorithm for computing root n cells in an arrangement of n lines.A part of this work was done while the first and third authors were visiting Charles University and while the first author was visiting Utrecht University. Since polynomial-time simulation is impossible in two rounds, we achieve the relaxed notion of superpolynomial-time simulation security [Pass, EUROCRYPT 2003]. Prior to our work, no such maliciously secure protocols were known even in the two-party setting for functionalities where both parties receive outputs. Our protocol is based on the sub-exponential security of standard assumptions plus a special type of non-interactive non-malleable commitment. At the heart of our approach is a two-round multi-party conditional disclosure of secrets (MCDS) protocol in the plain model from bilinear maps, which is constructed from techniques introduced in [Benhamouda and Lin, TCC 2020].

A comparative analysis of the demand for higher education: results from a meta-analysis of elasticities
Studies of the demand for higher education have produced numerous estimates of the tuition and income elasticities. Because of widespread variation in the models estimated, this paper performs a meta-analysis of the literature to uncover the extent to which study characteristics influence elasticities. In addition to being more inelastic in the short-run, the results reveal that demand is least responsive to tuition and income in the United States. Also, the measure of quantity and price, coupled with the method of estimation, have important effects on the tuition elasticity. Nonetheless, there are many study characteristics that have little impact on elasticity estimates.
Solute transport in magnesium and their uncertainty quantification using density functional theory and green function approach
Predictive control of alloy processing requires an accurate knowledge of the thermodynamic and the kinetic information of the system for microstructure simulation. Phenomena such as solute segregation or growth of precipitates occur regularly during alloy processing which involves transport or diffusion of solutes. We investigate interstitial and vacancy-mediated solute transport in the hexagonal close-packed Mg. We utilize density functional theory calculations to determine the energies of interstitials and solute-vacancy configurations, which inform our diffusion model. The diffusion of light elemental solutes B, C, N, and O is investigated by determining their stable interstitial sites and the interpenetrating network formed by these sites. We employ the elastodiffusion tensor to determine the effect of strains on diffusion and find that B, C, and N diffusivity increases with volumetric crystal expansion, while O diffusivity decreases. The vacancy-mediated solute diffusion requires the jump network of vacancy near and away from the solute but the existing diffusion models oversimplify this jump network, severely affecting the accuracy of the transport coefficients. We identify all the symmetry-unique vacancy jumps in the Mg lattice and use our Green function approach to generate the transport database for 61 solutes. Our predictions of solute diffusion coefficients agree well with the available experimental measurements. We also study drag ratios which quantify the drag of solutes by vacancies, and the ring network topologies elucidate their mechanisms.
