Representing fuzzy numbers for fuzzy calculus
Full text linkIn this paper we illustrate the LU representation of fuzzy numbers and present an LU-fuzzy calculator, in order to explain the use of the LU-fuzzy model and to show the advantage of the parametrization. The model can be applied either in the level-cut or in generalized LR frames. The hand-like fuzzy calculator has been developed for the MSWindows platform and produces the basic fuzzy calculus: the arithmetic operations (scalar multiplication, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and the fuzzy extension of many univariate functions (exponential, logarithm, power with numeric or fuzzy exponent, sin, arcsin, cos, arccos, tan, arctan, square root, Gaussian, hyperbolic sinh, cosh, tanh and inverses, erf and erfc error functions, cumulative standard normal distribution).Fuzzy Sets, LU-fuzzy Calculator, Fuzzy Calculus, Parametric LU represemtation

[[alternative]]The taxonomic study of Asarum L. (Aristolochiaceae) of Taiwan
No full text[[abstract]]The genus Asarum (Aristolochiaceae) in Taiwan was taxonomically revised based on morphological, palynological, cytotaxonomical and phytogeographical studies. Styles morphology, stigma position, sepal morphology, and ornamentation of the inner wall of the calyx-tube are shown to be valuable for the classification of Taiwan species. Annual growth module and calyx-tube shape also provide useful information. The pollen grains show variable on the micromorpholoy of the exine sculpture in some, but not all taxa. All taxa of Taiwan, except Asarum epigynum (2n=12), have the same chromosome numbers (2n=24). Karyotype of most Taiwanese taxa except A. epigynum, are with very similar symmetrical characterized by two pair large and one pair small ones. Geographically, most species in Taiwan are narrowly distributed in local range. Most of them are found in the northeast climate area.
As a result of above studies, thirteen taxa, including five species (A. ampulliflorum C. T. Lu, A. chatienshanianum C. T. Lu, A. tarokoense C. T. Lu and A. villisepalum C. T. Lu), are recognized. This treatment differs from the revised of Huang et al. (1995) in the following: A. albomaculatum Hayata and A. taitonense Hayata that were previously reduced to synonym of A. macranthum Hook, are now treated as distinct. A. infrapurpureum Hayata is now treated as the synonym of A. taitonense Hayata.
Study of Interaction Between Lu(III)-ARS Complex and Herring Sperm DNA
No full textThe authors synthesized an ARS-Lu(III) complex and focused on the interaction between the complex and herring sperm DNA using UV-vis absorption, fluorescence, and viscosity methods. The results indicated that the partial or nonclassical intercalation and groove binding are the major mode for interaction between the Lu(ARS)3 complex and herring sperm DNA. The binding ratio is n Lu(ARS)3:n DNA = 5:1, and the binding constant is K 27 degrees C = 2.23 x 105 L/mol. By double-reciprocal method and thermodynamic calculation, the driving force of the interaction is entropy
