    This paper describes a pipeline analog-to-digital converter is implemented for high speed camera. In the pipeline ADC design, prime factor is designing operational amplifier with high gain so ADC have been high speed. The other advantage of pipeline is simple on concept, easy to implement in layout and have flexibility to increase speed. We made design and simulation using Mentor Graphics Software with 0.35um CMOS technology with a total power dissipation of 130 mW. Circuit techniques used include a precise comparator with latch, operational amplifier and Non-Overlapping clock. A switched capacitor is used to sample, multiplying and hold at each stage. Simulation a worst case DNL and INL of 0,6 LSB. The design operates at 3,3 V dc. The speed camera cmos at 10.000 frames/s

    M.Phil.威廉·巴特勒·葉慈是二十世紀中最重要的英語詩人之一。葉慈的詩歌深刻地描繪出他在歷史動盪中的個人困境。葉慈在“我的作品介紹”中提到,他的詩歌是一個對“激昂有力的語法”的追求。因此,他的詩歌充滿著他對詩歌如何能表達和體現強烈情感的自覺性。本文將以崇高來閱讀葉慈的詩歌。詩歌中的崇高讓葉慈能洞悉他自身的藝術生命。在本文中,我將用不同的崇高模式,即文本崇高,歷史崇高和神話崇高,來詮釋葉慈的詩歌,視他的詩歌為一個文本創造出來的想像空間,一個在歷史動盪中給予頓悟和精神安慰的空間。本文中,崇高的三種模式源自朗吉弩斯的崇高概念和艾德蒙·伯克的崇高概念。崇高是與我們的靈魂昇華,並對世界和自我達致新的感知有關。這個概念可以追溯到朗吉弩斯的文本崇高概念。因此,本文嘗試把葉慈的崇高看作為類似於朗吉弩斯的崇高概念。我認為,這種文本崇高,讓葉慈可以在動蘯紛亂的時代中對暴力作出反思和將其神話化來看待。這種對暴力的思考和神話化反映了伯克的恐怖概念,探討了崇高如何擁有高尚和貶化人性的潛力。As one of the most profound twentieth-century poets writing in English, William Butler Yeats is impressive for his poetic depiction of violent conflicts triggered by the historical turmoil. In “General Introduction to My Work,” Yeats mentioned that his poetry is a quest for “a powerful and passionate syntax”. Hence, his poetry is filled with his self-consciousness of how poetry can convey and embody passion. In this thesis, I read Yeats’s poems as the sublime experience that gives insight to his artistic life. I am going to use different modes of the sublime, namely the textual sublime, the historical sublime and the mythical sublime, to illustrate the ways how Yeats takes poetry as a textual creation of an imaginative space for epiphany and spiritual consolation in the midst of historical tumult.In this thesis, the three modes of the sublime are derived from Longinus’s notion of the sublime and Burke’s notion of it. The sublime is associated with how our soul is elevated and comes to a new perception of the world and the self. This concept could be further traced back to Longinus’s notion of the sublime as a textually-grounded experience. Hence, my attempt in this thesis is to consider the sublime in Yeats as a textually grounded experience that is akin to Longinus’s notion of the sublime. This textually grounded sublimity, I argue, allows Yeats to contemplate and mythologize the violence in the midst of the historical turmoil. This contemplation and mythologization of the violence reflect the Burkean notion of terror because it explores how the sublime possesses both elevating and dehumanising potential.Chan, Man Chu.Thesis M.Phil.     An experimental study of airfoil instability tonal noise with trailing edge serrations

    This paper presents an experimental study of the effect of trailing edge serrations on airfoil instability noise. Detailed aeroacoustic measurements are presented of the noise radiated by an NACA-0012 airfoil with trailing edge serrations in a low to moderate speed flow under acoustical free field conditions. The existence of a separated boundary layer near the trailing edge of the airfoil at an angle of attack of 4.2 degree has been experimentally identified by a surface mounted hot-film arrays technique. Hot-wire results have shown that the saw-tooth surface can trigger a bypass transition and prevent the boundary layer from becoming separated. Without the separated boundary layer to act as an amplifier for the incoming Tollmien-Schlichting waves, the intensity and spectral characteristic of the radiated tonal noise can be affected depending upon the serration geometry. Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) measurements of the airfoil wakes for a straight and serrated trailing edge are also reported in this paper. These measurements show that localized normal-component velocity fluctuations that are present in a small region of the wake from the laminar airfoil become weakened once serrations are introduced. Owing to the above unique characteristics of the serrated trailing edges, we are able to further investigate the mechanisms of airfoil instability tonal noise with special emphasis on the assessment of the wake and non-wake based aeroacoustic feedback model. It has been shown that the instability tonal noise generated at an angle of attack below approximately one degree could involve several complex mechanisms. On the other hand, the non-wake based aeroacoustic feedback mechanism alone is sufficient to predict all discrete tone frequencies accurately when the airfoil is at a moderate angle of attack

    Election Fraud and Misinformation on Twitter: Author, Cluster, and Message Antecedents

    This study determined the antecedents of diffusion scope (total audience), speed (number of adopters/time), and shape (broadcast vs. person-to-person transmission) for true vs. fake news about a falsely claimed stolen 2020 US Presidential election across clusters of users that responded to one another’s tweets (“user clusters”). We examined 31,128 tweets with links to fake vs. true news by 20,179 users to identify 1,069 user clusters via clustering analysis. We tested whether attributes of authors (experience, followers, following, total tweets), time (date), or tweets (link to fake [vs. true] news, retweets) affected diffusion scope, speed, or shape, across user clusters via multilevel diffusion analysis. These tweets showed no overall diffusion pattern; instead, specific explanatory variables determined their scope, speed, and shape. Compared to true news tweets, fake news tweets started earlier and showed greater broadcast influence (greater diffusion speed), scope, and person-to-person influence. Authors with more experience and smaller user clusters both showed greater speed but less scope and less person-to-person influence. Likewise, later tweets showed slightly more broadcast influence, less scope, and more person-to-person influence. By contrast, users with more followers showed less broadcast influence but greater scope and slightly more person-to-person influence. These results highlight the earlier instances of fake news and the greater diffusion speed of fake news in smaller user clusters and by users with fewer followers, so they suggest that monitors can detect fake news earlier by focusing on earlier tweets, smaller user clusters, and users with fewer followers.Ye
