MITOS LORELEI DARI WAKTU KE WAKTU: KAJIAN FEMINISME EKSISTENSIALISME PADA TIGA LIRIK LORELEI TAHUN 1823, 1981, DAN 2013
This study analised the theme of the myth contained in three lyrics of Lorelei from three different times. Lorelei is a mythical woman whose name is taken from a cliff on the Rhine. This research will refer to the relationship between women (Lorelei) and male figures and the relation will be analyzed through the perspective of existentialist feminism using two main concepts, Men as Subjects and Women as Other Figures. The author chose the Lorelei-lyrics from three different time, Heinrich Heine's Lorelei (1823), Dschinghis Khan's Loreley (1981), and Faun's Lore Lay (2013) to show the Lorelei myth displayed in different era. Through the study of existentialism feminism, it can be seen that Lorelei is still described as the object which is marginalized by the strong myth of the fame fatale. Although the depictions of Lorelei's subjectivity can be found in some parts of the lyrics by Dchingis Khan (1981) and Faun (2013), but those depictions are still very vague. Keywords: Myth, Lorelei, Existentialism Feminism, Men, Wome
[Lorelei]
The image shows the Lorelei rock formation on the Rhine River in Germany, with a boat passing by. The Lorelei is a 132-meter high slate rock formation that is famous for its beauty and the legends associated with it. The rock is steep and partially covered with vegetation. A small red flag is visible at the top. The Rhine River flows at the base of the rock, and a barge is seen traveling on the river. A road or path is visible along the bank of the river, separating the water from the base of the rock formation. The sky is overcast, providing soft lighting for the scene
Lorelei Ladies scrapbook, 1953-2009
This scrapbook documents the Lorelei Ladies softball team of Atlanta, Georgia, primarily from the years 1953 to 1955 with some later materials. A significant portion of the scrapbook relates to the athletic achievements of Frances Wallace, including her earning the title of Miss Softball at the 1953 World's Tournament in Toronto, Canada. The scrapbook contains clippings, photographs, letters, and ephemera. Bobbie Bailey sponsored the Lorelei Ladies from 1960 to 1980.
Notes on identifications: On page 2, the unidentified woman kneeling on the left side of the front row is Jane Cleveland (later Jane Mantel). Page 9 identifies two men as Coke executives. On the reverse side of the photograph they are identified as Bob Saunders (CNE Sports Committee Chairman) and Mayor Lamport. Page 15 identifies a player as "Big Bertha." On the reverse side the image is identified as "Tiny" Atkinson. This scrapbook documents the Lorelei Ladies softball team primarily from the years 1953 to 1955 with some later materials
Origin of the Lorelei
This is a Novelle, written half in English and half in German. There are two story lines. The main one is based on Romantic poets who wrote about the “Lorelei”, the story follows her as she falls in love with a princess who in turn falls in love with her
Hannes Bok and the Lorelei
This chapter discusses Hans (later Hannes) Bok's influence on Ray Bradbury's short fiction “Lorelei,” which was inspired by a gift the latter received from the artist and writer: a tempura painting of a strange Bokian creature. In Los Angeles, Bradbury continued to write stories. In the middle of his senior year Bradbury met Bok at one of the meetings of Science Fiction League and was drawn to his tempura compositions. This chapter first looks at Bradbury's friendship with Hannes Bok and their shared fondness for fantasy literature and fairy tales before turning to “Lorelei,” a 10,000-word novella written in July 1938 that articulates Bradbury's fears that the coming World War would destroy him before he could become a writer. It also considers Bradbury's religious faith and experiences, along with his conviction that Man would eventually solve the riddle of the universe.</p
Santa Rosa Xtampak: Campeche
Effects on the fetal cholinergic basal forebrain following maternal immune activation
Neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and schizophrenia may result in part from maternal immune activation (MIA) during pregnancy. However, the mechanisms in the embryonic brain leading to these disorders in offspring remain unclear. Data suggest that interleukin-6 (IL-6) may be a key factor affecting fetal development following MIA. Abnormalities in the cholinergic basal forebrain (BF) are associated with neurodevelopmental disorders. Previous in vitro studies have shown that factors produced by activated microglia promote the cholinergic differentiation of precursors in the BF. It has not been demonstrated whether fetal microglia become activated in vivo following MIA or whether such activation results in increased numbers of BF cholinergic neurons. To test this, pregnant wild-type and IL-6 knock-out mice were injected with a viral mimic. Fetal/perinatal BFs of offspring were assayed for choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) activity and compared to offspring of saline-injected mice. The number of cholinergic neurons in BFs was quantified using stereological techniques. To determine fetal microglial activation status, lysates from enriched populations of microglial cells were analyzed for cytokine/chemokine protein production using LUMINEX® assays. Studies were performed in culture to determine whether certain elevated chemokines affect BF cholinergic development. Results show that following MIA, ChAT activity increases in the BF at embryonic days 16.5 (E16.5), E18.5 and postnatal day 1 (P1). Cholinergic cell number also increases. Fetal microglia produce higher levels of several cytokines and chemokines. Unexpectedly, ChAT activity is higher in control IL-6 KO BFs at E16.5 than in wild-types and MIA does not increase ChAT activity further. Non-microglial fetal brain cells also produce cytokines and chemokines. Non-microglial cells from control IL-6 KOs express increased levels of cytokines and chemokines compared to wild-types and MIA does not increase these levels. Culture studies suggest that a C-C chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) ligand may be a factor affecting BF cell survival. These data reveal changes following MIA that could potentially affect neural development. The fetal microglial cytokine/chemokine profile is altered. Perinatal increases in ChAT activity may have long-lasting consequences. Results also suggest a role for IL-6 in regulating proper cytokine and chemokine balance during normal brain development.Ph.
