A possible mechanism of superconductivity in high-T-c cuprates
This paper derives a generic T-c formula by using the long-range phase coherence condition in quantum phase fluctuation of the order parameter. Taking the two-local-spin-mediated interaction (TLSMI) proposed by Liu and Chen [Phys. Rev. B 58 (1998) 8812] as a Cooper pair potential, and the T-c formula, this paper explains five basic experimental facts in high-T-c cuprates. The aim of this paper is to show that TLSMI is a possible pairing mechanism of superconductivity in high-T-c cuprates. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. Asari Radix et Rhizoma is commonly used in classic prescriptions of herbal medicine in several Asian countries for resuscitation, pain relief, and sore treatment, and Asarum heterotropoides (A. heterotropoides) is an important source material of Asari Radix et Rhizoma. However, the plants of the Asari Radix et Rhizoma and some plants in Asarum spp. contain aristolochic acid I (AAI), which is considered as a carcinogen. The objective of the current study is to detoxify Asarum spp. through microbial degradation of AAI in order to ensure drug safety. Based on the observation of the close correlation between endophytic fungi of A. heterotropoides and AAI, we identified an AAI-degrading fungus and screened for candidate genes involved in AAI degradation. Full-length O-demethylase genes (ODMs) were cloned including A.h-ODM-5, Fs-ODM-4, and Fs-ODM-1, and their ability to degrade AAI was tested in vitro. The results showed that the AAI-degrading fungus was identified as Neocosmospora solani (A.h-Fs-1, endophytic fungi of A. heterotropoides), and verified the capability of specific O-demethylation to modify the structure of AAI. We further identified the functional ODMs in A.h-Fs-1 capable of degrading AAI and uncovered the AAI degradation mechanism of A.h-Fs-1. The microbial degradation of AAI demonstrated in the present study offers a new method to detoxify plant materials used for herbal medicine, and would enhance the regulation of toxic ingredients content in herbal medicine source materials.</p
The construction of Karen Karnak: The multi-author-function
This thesis is situated within the comparatively recent developments of Web 2.0 and the emergence of interactive WikiMedia, and explores the mode of authorship within a Read/Write culture compared to that of a Read/Only tradition. The hypothesis of this study is that the role of the audience has become merged with the author, and as such, represents new functions and attributes, distinct from a more conventional concept of authorship, in which the roles of audience and author are more separate. Read/Write and participatory culture, as defined by this study, is focused on collaboration, and includes the influences of D.I.Y. culture, Open-Source practices and the production of text by multiple authors. Multi-authorship presents a re-thinking of several concepts which support the notion of the individual author, since the focus of multi-authorship is not on attribution and ownership of a finished text, but on the continued malleability of a text. Modes of multi-authorship, demonstrated in the use of the pseudonyms Alan Smithee and Karen Eliot, represent declarative authors whose names signify multiple origins, whilst concurrently indicating a distinct body of work. The function of these names form an important context to this study, since primary research involves the construction of an experimental mode of multi-authorship utilising WikiMedia technology and the interaction of thirty nine participants, who are invited to create a body of work under the collective pseudonym Karen Karnak. The data generated by this experiment is analysed using aspects of Michel Foucault's author-function to identify and determine power structures inherent in the WikiMedia context. The interplay of power structures, including concepts such as identity, ownership and the body of work, affect the resulting mode of authorship and contribute to the construction of Karen Karnak, suggesting further areas of research into the emerging multi-author
Simultaneous removal of PCDD/Fs and NOx from the flue gas of a municipal solid waste incinerator with a pilot plant
The pilot-scale plant on the simultaneous removal of PCDD/Fs and NOx from the flue gas of a municipal solid waste incinerator is presented. In order to research the influence of temperature on the catalytic decomposition of PCDD/Fs and the selective catalytic reduction of NOx, the experiments were performed at 220 degrees C, 260 degrees C, and 300 degrees C, and the congener profiles of PCDD/Fs for the samples collected at the inlet and outlet were illustrated. Noteworthy, the detailed congener distributions of PCDD/Fs in the gas-phase and particle-phase of the inlet and 300-outlet (decomposition temperature = 300 degrees C) samples are presented, and the removal efficiencies eta(g-I-TEQ) and eta(p-I-TEQ). reached to 94.94% and 99.67%, respectively. The effect of the SCR process on the removal of PCDD/Fs was also studied at a relatively low temperature of 220 degrees C. Additionally, the NOx emissions and the SCR efficiencies were investigated. MULTIPLE EXCHANGE-MEDIATED INTERACTION AND SUPERCONDUCTIVITY
It is shown that in a strongly correlated system there exists multiple exchange-mediated interaction (MEMI). From the numerical calculations of T(c), (T(c) vs. x and y for La2-xSrxCuO4 and Y1Ba2Cu3O7-y), the small isotope effect, the large gap and some explanations for the observed phenomena, this paper affirms that the high-T(c) superconductivity is caused by the MEMI, the phonon-mediated interaction and the tunneling coupling. The heavy-fermion superconductivity is mainly caused by the MEMI, and, in the meantime, the phonon-mediated interaction has also some contributions. The extremely large gap below T(N) in AF Chevrel phase, some AF materials come from the MEMI. FSD-FS is a publicly-available database of human labelled sound events for few-shot learning. It spans across 143 classes obtained from the AudioSet Ontology and contains 43805 raw audio files collected from the FSD50K. FSD-FS is curated at the Centre for Digital Music, Queen Mary University of London.

About FSD-FS
FSD-FS is an open database for multi-label few-shot audio classification containing 143 classes drawn from the FSD50K. It also inherits the AudioSet Ontology. FSD-FS follows the ratio 7:2:1 to split classes into base, validation, and evaluation sets, so there are 98 classes in the base set, 30 classes in the validation set, and 15 classes in the evaluation set (More details can be found in our paper).

FSD-FS are released in Creative Commons (CC) licenses. Same as FSD50K, each clip has its own license as defined by the clip uploader in Freesound, some of them requiring attribution to their original authors and some forbidding further commercial reuse. For more details, ones can refer to the link.

THE EFFECT OF PHONON-INDUCED HOPPING ENHANCEMENT AND EXACT THEORY OF COLD-FUSION
This paper gives an exact formula to calculate the hopping rate of walker in solid due to the walker-phonon interaction. The numerical calculation tells us that there is a new effect which should be called as effect of phonon-induced hopping enhancement.
