Condensed phase combustion travelling waves with sequential exothermic or endothermic reactions
No full textThe one-dimensional propagation of a combustion wave through a premixed solid fuel for two-stage kinetics is studied. We re-examine the analysis of a single reaction travelling-wave and extend it to the case of two-stage reactions. We derive an expression for the travelling wave speed in the limit of large activation energy for both reactions. The analysis shows that when both reactions are exothermic, the wave structure is similar to the single reaction case. However, when the second reaction is endothermic, the wave structure can be significantly different from single reaction case. In particular, as might be expected, a travelling wave does not necessarily exist in this case. We establish conditions in the limiting large activation energy limit for the non-existence, and for monotonicity of the temperature profile in the travelling wave
Identification of dynamic model parameters for lithium-ion batteries used in hybrid electric vehicles
No full textThis paper presents an electrical equivalent circuit model for lithium-ion batteries usedfor hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The model has two RC networks characterizing battery activation and concentration polarization process. The parameters of the model are identified using combined experimental and Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) recursive methods. The open-circuit voltage and ohmic resistance of the battery are directly measured and calculated from experimental measurements, respectively. The rest of the coupled dynamic parameters, i.e. the RC network parameters, are estimated using the EKF method. Experimental and simulation results are

No full textNella prima parte della nota, l’Autore analizza la fattispecie di «denuncia di un sinistro non accaduto» di cui all’art. 642, comma 2, c.p., introdotta nel 2002 nell’ambito della riforma delle assicurazioni R.C. Auto, per, poi, affrontare la questione su cui si è pronunciata la Corte di cassazione, relativa al significato da attribuire al concetto di “sinistro”. Infine, l’Autore offre le proprie riflessioni sui rapporti intercorrenti tra la fattispecie esaminata e le altre ipotesi delittuose previste dall’art. 642 c.p. e sulla compatibilità di tali reati con il principio di offensività.In the first part of the note, the Author analyzes the crime of “denunciation of a false accident” that was introduced into the art. 642 c.p. in 2002, and, then, the question about the meaning of “sinistro” (accident) on which the Supreme Court stated.
