Compterosmittia Saether
Compterosmittia Saether Compterosmittia Saether, 1981: 20. Hirosimayusurika Sasa, Shimomura et Matsuo, 1991: 282. Type species: Compterosmittia dentispina Saether, 1981, by original designation. Emended generic diagnosis. Based on the material presently examined and the data referred, the generic diagnosis of male Compterosmittia given by Mendes et al. (2004) can be emended as follows: “pseudospurs lacking” should be changed to “pseudospurs often lacking, sometimes present’’ (present on ta 3 and ta 4 of mid and hind legs in C. procera sp. n.); “the male antenna has 10 or 13 flagellomeres” should be changed to 10, 12 (C. duodecima sp. n.) or 13 flagellomeres.Published as part of Lin, Xiaolong, Yao, Yuanyuan, Liu, Wenbin & Wang, Xinhua, 2013, A review of the genus Compterosmittia Saether, 1981 (Diptera: Chironomidae) from China, pp. 129-138 in Zootaxa 3669 (2) on pages 129-130, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3669.2.3, http://zenodo.org/record/22305
Compterosmittia virga Wang 1998
Compterosmittia virga Wang, 1998 Compterosmittia virga Wang, 1998: 95; Mendes et al. 2004: 72; Makarchenko & Makarchenko 2011: 111. Material examined. Guangdong Province, Fengkai County, Heishiding Natural Nature Reserve, 23 ° 26 ’ 24 ’’N, 111 ° 52 ’ 47 ’’E, 2 males, 20.iv. 1988, sweep net, X. Wang. Diagnostic characters. The adult male can be separated from other members of the genus by having the virga consisted of 16–18 spines. Remarks. C. virga was described by Wang (1998) based on adult males form Oriental China. Makarchenko and Makarchenko (2011) recorded it from Russian Far East.Published as part of Lin, Xiaolong, Yao, Yuanyuan, Liu, Wenbin & Wang, Xinhua, 2013, A review of the genus Compterosmittia Saether, 1981 (Diptera: Chironomidae) from China, pp. 129-138 in Zootaxa 3669 (2) on page 137, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3669.2.3, http://zenodo.org/record/22305
