The political role of the people's liberation army 1949-1973
This thesis is to study the political role of the People's Liberation Army from the approach of structure and function. The framework of the thesis consists of three major parts, first, the influence of Chinese traditional political culture on, and the formation of, the political role of the PL A; second, the influence of domestic political struggles and external military conflicts on the development of the political role of the PLA; and the third, the analysis of the transition of the PLA's political role from the structure and personnel arrangements of the CCPCC Within the above-mentioned three scopes, this thesis make a thorough discussion on the following: (1) The relationship between the structure of the PRC and the formation of the PLA's political role; (2) How has ideology influenced the army's political role; (3) What is Mao's viewpoint and his influence on the development of the army's political role; (4) What is the link between the army and the party, and how has this developed; (6) What accounts for the expansion of the PLA's political functions; (7) What is the influence of political factional struggles on the PLA's political role; (8) Is it political institution or military institution that controls the recruitment of the military elite; (9) What are the disparities between the military elite in handling international conflicts and what are their political considerations; (10) What is the Party's position in the army; (11) How have the Party’s important meetings and personnel arrangements influenced the rise and fall of the PLA's political role

LIN-2 and FRM-3 are required to maintain locomotory behaviour.
(A) Genomic structure of lin-2 and frm-3 locus, mutant allele characterization, and protein architecture for LIN-2 and FRM-3. The whole promoter region of lin-2a and part of the kinase domain of LIN-2A is deleted in the e1309 mutants. The FERM domain in both frm-3a and frm-3b is deleted in the gk585 mutants. Syb1019 and syb1036 are stop codons in lin-2 and frm-3 that inactivate the expression of lin-2a and lin-2b, and frm-3a and frm-3b. (E, F) Locomotion speed is reduced by the loss of LIN-2 and FRM-3. Representative trajectories of locomotion in wild type (E) and mean locomotion speed in wild type, lin-2(e1309), frm-3(gk585), lin-2(syb1019), frm-3(syb1036), and lin-2(e1309);frm-3(gk585) mutants. To measure locomotion speed, young adult animals were washed with a drop of PBS and then transferred to fresh NGM plates with no bacterial lawn (30 worms per plate). Worm movement recordings (under room temperature 22°C) were started 10 min after the worms were transferred. A 2 min digital video of each plate was captured at 3.75 Hz frame rate by WormLab System (MBF Bioscience). Average speed and tracks were generated for each animal using WormLab software. To confirm the repeatability of the data, the locomotion speed was measured in two independent experiments in two days. For each mutant, around 10–40 animals were analyzed in one experiment. Significance was tested for each experiment. Data are mean ± SEM (**, p p < 0.001 when compared to wild type; n.s., non-significant; one-way ANOVA). The number of worms analyzed for each genotype is indicated in the bar.</p

The creative life story of Lin Hwai-min
[[abstract]]This study narrated Lin Hwai-min’s creative process, adopting Csiksentimihalyi’s creative system.
Two biographies and three dancing creative books were the main reference of this study. The relevant reference such as the lecture forums, the mass media reports, the publications, the Internet data and the interviews were the subsidiary information.
According to the perspective of Csiksentimihalyi’s creative system, it seemed that Lin Hwai-min has become a gatekeeper in the creative system after his thirty-six years’ evolution. His creativity has his own characteristics. His social and family background affected his creativity characteristics. The interaction of his being times and Taiwan’s society has identified his irreplaceable role of the dancing area. His creativity, achievement and status not only got the identification of the disciplines but also made him become a gatekeeper in the creative system. That influenced Taiwan’s society and the development of performing arts.
Lin Hwai-min faced the life issues: self-identity and lifelong ambitions. Although time flies, these questions are always what we have to face. We can get the enlightenment from reading Lin Hwai-min’s story.
At last, I offered my own reflection of Taiwan’s society and some suggestions in terms of research topics research theory. It was hoped the present study could shed some light on the creative characters’ research.
Fables de la Chine Antique, Tome II
This book is half of the larger-format canvas-bound predecessor of the identically named paperback book I have listed under 1980/84. The first text here is on 79 there. The order of texts changes slightly from time to time. The illustrations are the same. The cover picture here is the mirror-opposite of the cover picture there: a man sits before a fire over which a spitted turtle is roasting. There is a curious difference in names, whether of people or places. Thus L'Homme Qui Avait Peur des esprits (3) starts there Au sud de Xiashu vivait un homme nommé Juan Shuliang. The author is listed as Xunsi. Here, some twenty years earlier, the sentence reads Au sud de Sciacheou vivait un homme nommé Kiuan Siun-liang. The author is listed as Siun Tse. Here the title is pasted onto the gray paper cover in a lovely vertical red stripe. See my comments there and in the paperback Spanish and English versions of the book. This is a hardbound book (hard cover)Language note: FrenchRetold and Illustrated by Alice Shirle
