Jintuo Yue shi zong zu de zu xian jian gou ji she hui hu dong yan jiu =: The genealogy recreation and social interaction of the Yues lineage in Jiaxing : a case study
M.Phil.In 1606, Yue Hesheng (樂和聲), a Ming official originated from Jiaxing (嘉興) County, memorialized the throne claiming that his lineage was the descendents of Yue Fei (岳飛), a famous general in the Southern Song Dynasty. Yue Hesheng claimed that his ancestors, the genuine descendents of Yue Fei, changed their surname into Yue (樂) in late Song and early Yuan to avoid political persecution. Now, requested Yue Hesheng, his lineage, himself included, should be granted permission to restore their surname as Yue (岳). This “surname restoration” campaign was but part of the lineage construction campaign in Ming‐Qing period, and thus provided us with an interesting case of socio‐cultural transformation centered around lineage.This thesis examines three aspects of the rise of the Yues Lineage in Jiaxing: first, the planning of genealogy recreation and the new narrations in their own history; second, the participation of party struggle in 1580s to 1610s by Yue Yuan Sheng (岳元聲), the elder brother of He Sheng; third, the intervention of territorial disputes between 3 counties in Jiaxing Prefecture by Yuan Sheng and the development of Renwen Academy (仁文書院), a private educational institution founded by the Yues. The thesis concludes with a brief examination of the development of Yue lineage in the eighteenth century.明萬曆34 年(1606),南直隸嘉興府樂和聲上呈〈復姓疏〉,聲稱其家族本姓岳,是南宋名將岳飛的後裔,要求恢復原姓,並得到明神宗的批准。在這場運動的背後,樂和聲及其族人花了大量心力建構自己與岳飛的宗族譜系,並在家鄉嘉興縣尋訪岳飛之孫岳珂及其他嶽姓子孫的遺跡。後世稱該宗族為「金陀岳氏」,因為岳珂曾在嘉興府城建立金陀坊。復姓為其宗族帶來政治、社會及文化影響力,反映其宗族的付出和回報成正比,帶來的文化效益甚至延伸至清代金陀嶽氏後人。這個獨特的復姓個案,對於理解明清時期宗族組織的發展,極有啟示。本論文主要透過分為三個章節︰一是岳元聲、岳和聲、岳駿聲三兄弟為復姓而進行的祖宗及歷史敘述建構,二是岳元聲在萬曆年間參與的數次黨爭,三是岳元聲在嘉興府三縣爭田案的參與,以及仁文書院對嘉興、秀水縣士人的影響。透過文化、政治、社會三方面,闡述金陀岳氏宗族在明萬曆以後日漸強勢的原因,以及其與復姓運動如何互為影響。在結論部分,則會簡略交代十八、十九世紀岳氏宗族建構的進一步發展,以展示復姓對宗族如何帶來長遠的文化資本。林毅忠.Parallel title from English abstract.Thesis M.Phil. 《史记·东越列传》的细读及其英译问题 = Close reading to memoir of East Yue in Shiji and its English translation
本文旨在对《东越列传》的文本细读与英文翻译的过程中,出现的“姓驺氏”之误、“是上云”之句读、“废为君长”之理解、“後数世”之深意、连用四个“今”之文法及相关英译问题提出一得之见,并认为严谨的英文翻译将有助于《史记》本身的进一步研究。The article is a research report for close reading to one of Shiji chapter when the author joined a translation workshop in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Some problems will be found when you try to word-by-word read and translate the ancient text. In translation process of Memoir of East Yue, the article concludes: “xing zoushi”姓驺氏 is wrong; punctuation of “shi shang yun”是上云 in the Zhonghua annotation is problematic; “fei wei junzhang”废为君长 and “hou shushi”後数世could have another deep meanings according to Sima Qian’s writing techniques; four “jin”今been continuously used in one paragraph is very colloquial and quite normal in Pri-Qin and Sima Qian’s periods; translations for “bian”便, “shuai”率, “jieshou”劫守 and “zi gui zhujiang”自归诸将 should be careful and cautious. Academic translation definitely helps scholars’ research on Shiji
Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient for High-Speed Train Trajectory Optimization
This paper proposes a novel train trajectory optimization approach for high-speed railways. We restrict our attention to single train operation scenarios with different scheduled/rescheduled running times aiming at generating optimal train recommended trajectories in real time, which can ensure punctuality and energy efficiency of train operation. A learning-based approach deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) is designed to generate optimal train trajectories based on the offline training from the interaction between the agent and the trajectory simulation environment. An allocating running time and selecting operation modes (ARTSOM) algorithm is proposed to improve train punctuality and give a series of discrete operation modes (full traction, cruising, coasting, full braking), and thus to produce a feasible training set for DDPG, which can speed up the training process. Numerical experiments show that an optimized speed profile can be generated by DDPG within seconds on a realistic railway line. In addition, the results demonstrate the generalization ability of trained DDPG in solving TTO problems with different running times and line conditions. Template-free preparation of porous Co microfibers from spent lithium-ion batteries as a promising microwave absorber
In order to take full advantage of the secondary resources, in this paper, we reported a template-free process to prepare porous Co microfibers from spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). First, the waste LiCoO2 powders were leached by oxalic acid at a suitable temperature, and rod-like cobalt oxalate powders were obtained. Second, the porous Co microfibers were prepared by using the cobalt oxalate as precursors through a thermal decomposition at 420 °C under nitrogen atmosphere. The prepared Co microfibers possess diameters of 1–2 μm, and each microfiber consists of small particles with size of 100–200 nm. The Co microfibers (25 wt%)/paraffin composite exhibited excellent microwave absorption performance. When the sample thickness is 4.5 mm, the reflection losses reach − 36.14 and − 38.20 dB at 4.16 and 17.60 GHz, respectively, and the effective bandwidth reaches up to 5.52 GHz. This indicates that the Co microfibers can be used as a promising microwave absorber. Therefore, this paper demonstrates a novel process to make a high value-added product through recycling from the spent lithium-ion batteries. In addition, it is advantageous to eliminate the hazard of spent lithium-ion batteries and electromagnetic radiation to environment and human health. Real-time Filtering on Interest Profiles in Twitter Stream
The advent of Twitter has led to the ubiquitous information overload problem with a dramatic increase in the amount of tweets a user is exposed to. In this paper, we consider real-time tweet filtering with respect to users' interest profiles in public Twitter stream. While traditional filtering methods mainly focus on judging relevance of a document, we aim to retrieve relevant and novel documents to address the high redundancy of tweets. An unsupervised approach is proposed to model relevance between tweets and different profiles adaptively and a neural network language model is employed to learn semantic representation for tweets. DNA nanostructure-based magnetic beads for potentiometric aptasensing
In this work, a simple, general, and sensitive potentiometric platform is presented, which allows potentiometric sensing to be applied to any class of molecule irrespective of the analyte charge. DNA nanostructures are self-assembled on magnetic beads via the incorporation of an aptamer into a hybridization chain reaction. The aptamer target binding event leads to the disassembly of the DNA nanostructures, which results in a dramatic change in the surface charge of the magnetic beads. Such a surface charge change can be sensitively detected by a polycation-sensitive membrane electrode using protamine as an indicator. With an endocrine disruptor bisphenol A as a model, the proposed potentiometric method shows a wide linear range from 0.1 to 100 nM with a low detection limit of 80 pM (3 sigma). The proposed sensing strategy will lay a foundation for the development of potentiometric sensors for highly sensitive and selective detection of various targets

Sialylation reactions with N,N-dibenzylthiosialoside donor
A new sialyl donor, N,N-dibenzyl-protected p-toluenethiosialoside, was synthesized and its sialylation reaction was investigated. This reaction proceeded in a preactivation manner and preferred to provide beta-anomeric coupling products. The beta-selectivity was rationalized based on the assumption that N,N-dibenzylamino group could serve as an oriented group to activate the hydroxyl group of acceptor from beta-face.
