TEM characterisation of near surface deformation resulting from lubricated sliding wear of aluminium alloy and composites
No full textAluminium alloy composites have been extensively investigated for use in tribo-contact applications, however little detailed literature exists on the sub-surface microstructural evolution as a result of lubricated sliding wear. In this study two un-reinforced alloys (2124 and 5056) and identical alloy composites, reinforced with 15 vol.% MoSi2 intermetallic particles were produced by a powder metallurgy route and subject to lubricated sliding at initial Hertzian contact pressures of 0.9–1.2 GPa. Focused ion beam (FIB) techniques were used to produce thin sections parallel to the worn surface. Sub-surfaces layers were then examined in detail by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Results indicated that the depth of deformation was minimal in the alloys, with the most highly deformed polycrystalline layer confined to approximately 1 ?m below the worn surface. Equiaxed sub-grain sizes of around 0.1 ?m were comparable to that observed for dry sliding of similar alloys and composites [1]. Evidence of surface erosion by solid particle impact was also observed, with wear debris generated as a result of material exceeding the ductility limit. For the composites, the MoSi2 provided a suitable means of transferring the normal contact load from asperity contacts to areas in the bulk of the sample. Reinforcement fracture was observed both at the worn surface and in areas further away in the bulk, for particles which were in direct contact with each other. Evidence of the deformation of the aluminium matrix below reinforcements was also present, with average sub-grain sizes of around 330 nm. Thus, such intermetallic reinforcements may have potential to replace reinforcements that are more abrasive to counterfaces, such as SiC or Al2O3, whilst still providing adequate wear resistance for the aluminium alloy.<br/

The essay emphasizes the advantages of a school outside the city close to nature. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the conspectus of the book Školní družina (translated The after school club), which became the author's guide in her professional life. The professional analysis of an educator in the after-school club is described in detail, it also determines the requirements for the profession and the personality of a person for practicing this pedagogical profession. It also describes the laws and decrees that define its legislative framework. In the case study of the chosen school, the author analyzes and describes the functioning of the elementary school and the after-school club in Zelenec, where she currently works. Corrosion resistance and anomalous hydrogen evolution in chloride containing solutions of extruded cast and powder metallurgical Mg-1Zn alloy
No full textThe corrosion resistance and anomalous hydrogen evolution of extruded cast and powder metallurgical (PM) Mg-1Zn alloy were investigated. Potentiodynamic polarization revealed that the PM Mg-1Zn alloy actively corroded at the OCP due to enhanced cathodic kinetics, whereas the cast Mg-1Zn alloy remained spontaneously passive. HE measurements confirmed that the cast Mg-1Zn alloy exhibited lower HE rates than the PM Mg-1Zn alloy. R values for the PM Mg-1Zn alloy were remarkably lower than for the cast Mg-1Zn alloy. The anomalous HE rates were higher for the PM Mg-1Zn alloy with over 90% of the charge ratio associated with anomalous HE.S. Formou strukturovaného životopisu v úvodu představuje své dosavadní zkušenosti a znalosti. V odborné eseji autorka popisuje problematiku enviromentální výchovy ve školní družině, především konkretizuje, co brání vychovatelům v jejím rozšíření do programu školní družiny. Klade zde důraz na výhody školy mimo město v blízkosti přírody. Další část je věnovaná konspektu knihy Školní družina, která se stala autorce vodítkem v jejím profesním životě. Profesiografický rozbor vychovatele ve školní družině detailně znázorňuje pracovní náplň, stanovuje požadavky na povolání a osobnost člověka pro vykonávání pedagogické profese.
