Strain Field Mapping of Dislocations in a Ge/Si Heterostructure
Ge/Si heterostructure with fully strain-relaxed Ge film was grown on a Si (001) substrate by using a two-step process by ultra-high vacuum chemical vapor deposition. The dislocations in the Ge/Si heterostructure were experimentally investigated by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The dislocations at the Ge/Si interface were identified to be 90° full-edge dislocations, which are the most efficient way for obtaining a fully relaxed Ge film. The only defect found in the Ge epitaxial film was a 60° dislocation. The nanoscale strain field of the dislocations was mapped by geometric phase analysis technique from the HRTEM image. The strain field around the edge component of the 60° dislocation core was compared with those of the Peierls-Nabarro and Foreman dislocation models. Comparison results show that the Foreman model with a = 1.5 can describe appropriately the strain field around the edge component of a 60° dislocation core in a relaxed Ge film on a Si substrate
Evolutionary mechanism of the defects in the fluoride-containing phosphate based glasses induced by gamma radiation
In the laser driven inertial confinement fusion (ICF) experimental target chamber, like the 3 omega (351 nm) laser irradiation, the irradiation of gamma ray and X-rays, will also cause the formation and increase of various defects in the investigated series of fluoride-containing phosphate based glasses that have potential use in novel high performance color separation optics. The induced defects contribute to the increase of absorption in the UV region, which will make the UV performance of these laser glasses deteriorated. Some of the induced defects can be bleached to some extent through the subsequent thermal treatment process, resulting from the release and capture of the electrons in conduction band. Through the gamma radiation and post-heat treatment experiments, a general model of the evolutionary mechanism of the defects in these fluoride-containing phosphate based glasses was proposed
The Operational Mechanism of Agricultural Products Supply Chain Finance Based on the Mode-Capability-Customer Matching Approach
The key to successful agricultural product supply chain finance of commercial banks lies in coordinating the relationship among the “supply chain finance model”, “banking serviceability”, and “user satisfaction”. Previous research on agricultural products supply chain finance rarely incorporated the operational level of commercial banks. To fill this gap, this paper transforms the operational problem of the agricultural product supply chain finance of commercial banks into a matching problem between the agricultural product supply chain finance model and customers under the constraint of serviceability. First, a matching model of “mode-capability-customer” of agricultural products supply chain finance is constructed based on the theory of bilateral matching; second, a measurement index system of matching degree and satisfaction is constructed, where matching degree and satisfaction are calculated; finally, the optimal matching model is studied. This paper proposes a model that matches agricultural supply chain finance with customer satisfaction, considering bank serviceability constraints. It improves the implementation of agricultural product supply chain finance by commercial banks. The study uses surveys and evaluations to assess stakeholder satisfaction and preferences. An operational research model optimizes the matching process between supply chain finance models and recipients, ensuring suitability. The paper provides a theoretical basis for rural financial services and practical recommendations for commercial bank supply chain finance, with valuable real-world applications

Nonlinear Terahertz Generation: Chiral and Achiral Meta-atom Coupling
Generation and manipulation of terahertz (THz) waves are of vital importance to advance THz technology. Nonlinear metasurfaces allow effective integration of both processes into a single compact device. However, such existing THz devices commonly rely on utilizing a single meta-atom, which has fixed THz generation properties and thus limits the range of achievable functionalities. Here, for the first time to our knowledge, we introduce a coupling effect between different meta-atoms into the unit-cell design, and experimentally validate this new degree of freedom in controlling the nonlinear THz generation, where achiral coupling provides full control over the amplitude of the generated THz field, while chiral coupling makes the THz generation sensitive to the handedness of the pump polarization. In particular, the chiral coupling case further allows a multiplexing-based handedness-selective nonlinear metasurface, which generates THz beams with different orbital angular momenta (OAMs). This approach is promising in developing various integrated nonlinear THz devices
Lithium-induced alterations in soybean nodulation and nitrogen fixation through multifunctional mechanisms
The increasing footprints of lithium (Li) in agroecosystems combined with limited recycling options have raised uncertain consequences for important crops. Nitrogen (N2)-fixation by
legumes is an important biological response process, but the cause and effect of Li exposure on plant root-nodule symbiosis and biological N2-fixation (BNF) potential are still unclear. Soybean as a model plant was exposed to Li at low (25 mg kg-1), medium (50 mg kg-1), and high (100 mg kg-1) concentrations. We found that soybean growth and nodulation capacity had a concentrationdependent response to Li. Li at 100 mg kg-1 reduced the nodule numbers, weight, and BNF potential of soybean in comparison to the low and medium levels. Significant shift in soybean growth and BNF after exposure to Li were associated with alteration in the nodule metabolic pathways involved in nitrogen uptake and metabolism (urea, glutamine and glutamate). Importantly, poor soybean nodulation after high Li exposure was due in part to a decreased abundance of bacterium Ensifer in the nodule bacterial community. Also, the dominant N2-fixing bacterium Ensifer was significantly correlated with carbon and nitrogen metabolic pathways.
