Machine-Learning-Assisted Design of a Robust Biomimetic Radiative Cooling Metamaterial
Recently, biomimetic photonic structural materials have significantly improved their radiative cooling performance. However, most research has focused on understanding cooling mechanisms, with limited exploration of sensitive parameter variations. Traditional numerical methods are costly and time-consuming and often struggle to identify optimal solutions, limiting the scope of high-performance microstructure design. To address these challenges, we integrated machine learning into the design of Batocera LineolataHope bionic photonic structures, using SiO2 as the substrate. Deep learning models provided insights into the complex relationship between bionic metamaterials and their spectral response, enabling us to identify the optimal performance parameter range for truncated cone arrays (height-to-diameter ratio (H/D-bottom) from 0.8 to 2.4), achieving a high average emissivity of 0.985. Experimentally, the noon temperature of fabricated samples decreased by about 8.3 degrees C. This data-driven approach accelerates the design and optimization of robust biomimetic radiative cooling metamaterials, promising significant advancements in standardized passive radiative cooling applications

PDF projections for the HL-LHC and the LHeC

For the foreseeable future, the exploration of the high-energy frontier will be the domain of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Of particular significance will be its high-luminosity upgrade (HL-LHC), which will operate until the mid- 2030s. In this endeavour, for the full exploitation of the HL-LHC physics potential an improved understanding of the parton distribution functions (PDFs) of the proton is critical.

Since its start of data taking, the LHC has provided an impressive wealth of information on the quark and gluon structure of the proton. Indeed, modern global analyses of parton distribution functions (PDFs) include a wide range of LHC measurements of processes such as the production of jets, electroweak gauge bosons, and top quark pairs. Here we provide quantitative projections for global PDF fits that include the information expected from the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) in the LHAPDF format. These projections have been already used in particular in the HL-LHC CERN Yellow Reports.

The HL-LHC program would be uniquely complemented by the proposed Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC), a high-energy lepton-proton and lepton-nucleus collider based at CERN. Here we also present PDF projections based on the expected LHeC measurements of inclusive and heavy quark structure functions. These projections are presented both for the LHeC individually, and also in connection with the HL-LHC pseudo-data.

Performances of the HL (Hyperloop) transport system
This paper deals with an analysis of performances of the HL (Hyperloop) transport system considered as an advanced transport alternative to the existing APT (Air Passenger Transport) and HSR (High Speed Rail) systems. The considered performances are operational, financial, social and environmental. The operational performance include capacity and quality of service provided to the system’s users-passengers with attributes such as door-to-door travel time consisting of the access and egress time, schedule delay, in-vehicle time, and interchange time. The economic performances embrace the costs and revenues of operating the system. The costs include that for infrastructure, vehicles, traffic management facilities and equipment, and employees. The revenues embrace earnings from pricing users/passengers. The environmental performances include energy consumption and related emissions of GHGs (Green House Gases), and land use. The social performances are considered to be noise and safety. The analytical models of indicators of these performances are developed and applied to the scenario of operating the HL system on the short- to medium-haul travel distances/routes. These are then compared to the corresponding performances of the HSR and APT. This comparison has shown that the HL system may possess some advantages but also disadvantages regarding particular performances.Transport and PlanningOLD Urban and Regional Developmen

Recent advance progress of HL-3 experiments
Since the first plasma realized in 2020, a series of key systems on HL-3 (known as HL-2M before) tokamak have been equipped/upgraded, including in-vessel components (the first wall, lower divertor, and toroidal cryogenic/water-cooling/baking/glow discharge systems, etc.), auxiliary heating system of 11 MW, and 28 diagnostic systems (to measure the plasma density electron temperature, radiation, magnetic field, etc.). Magnet field systems were commissioned firstly for divertor plasma discharges. During the 2nd experimental campaign of HL-3 tokamak, several great progresses have been achieved. Firstly, the successful operation with plasma current larger than 1 MA was achieved under a divertor configuration. Secondly, the advanced divertor concept with two distinct snowflake configurations was realized. It is found that the distribution of ion saturation current and heat flux on bottom plate becomes wide due to magnetic surface expansion, demonstrating the advantage of such configuration in the heat flux mitigation. In addition, using the combination of NBI, ECRH and LHCD, the standard sawtoothing high confinement mode of megampere plasma was firstly accessed on the HL-3. The successful commissioning of HL-3 is beneficial for the initial operation of ITER

A study of Li Panlong's mimetic poems
The research topic of this thesis is “A Study of Li Panlong’s Mimetic Poems”. Mimetic Poems are poems that imitate classical poems. Generally speaking, writers of Mimetic Poems tend to mimic poets who lived in earlier dynasties and had great achievements in poetry, in a way that the original outer language styles and inner spiritual essences are usually inherited. This thesis focused on the study of Li Panlong’s theory on poetry and his Mimetic Poems. From both the theoretical and practical points of view, the imitating situations of his poems were evaluated.
This Paper analyzed Li Panlong’s Mimetic Poems from the perspectives of linguistics and psychology. The phenomenon of Li PanLong’s language usage in his Mimetic Poems was grasped through the theory of language as medium. Li Panlong’s state of mind when creating his Mimetic Poems was studied through the theory of literature psychology. Aiding with the method of “Close Reading”, Li Panlong’s Mimetic Poems were analyzed in details. Also, using the way of “Zhiren Lunshi”, the relationship between Li Panlong’s behavior of imitating and the social context in his times were discussed.
After throughout study of Li Panlong’s theory on poetry and his Mimetic Poems, it was discovered that his theory on poetry was applicable in his Mimetic Poems. There were some “Niguyuefu” of Li Panlong which preserved the original outer language styles, some which inherited the inner spiritual essences, and some in which new elements of language were created. As for his “Nigushi”, the requirements of “Shu”, “He” and “Li” in his theory on poetry were fulfilled in the following sense. First, Li Panlong was familiar (“Shu”) with the works of Previous dynasties. Then either he ensured that the outer language styles of his “Nigushi” were similar (“He”) to the original works or he got rid of (“Li”) the influence of language in the original works, shifted to the standpoint of a critic, as well as supplemented and commented works of previous dynasties by the way of poetry imitating. Therefore, his theory and practice on poetry formed a mutual supporting system.
published_or_final_versionChineseDoctoralDoctor of Philosoph
