    Connecting-lemma y Closing-lemma en flujos seccional-Anosov

    No full text
Abstract. In this paper we study part of the behavior of the sectional-Anosov ows on compact 3- manifolds (possibly with @M 6= ;), with emphasis on two quite significant results known as connecting-lemma and closing-lemma. Order to arrive at the testing of these results first will be an account of the main properties of such ows, trying to see the ow behavior through the behavior of this return maps for selected cross sections conveniently.Maestrí

KYP lemma based stability and control law design for differential linear repetitive processes with applications

    No full text
Repetitive processes are a class of two-dimensional systems that have physical applications, including the design of iterative learning control laws where experimental validation results have been reported. This paper uses the Kalman–Yakubovich–Popov lemma to develop new stability tests for differential linear repetitive processes that are computationally less intensive than those currently available. These tests are then extended to allow control law design for stability and performance

On a Lemma of M. Abramson

    No full text
Kaplansky's Lemma [3] states: the number of k-combinations of 1, 2,…, n with no two consecutive integers in any selection is Using this, Abramson [l; lemma 3] solves the problem: find the, number of k-combinations so that no two integers i and i+2 appear in any selection. (This is generalized by Abramson in [2].) An interesting solution, also using Kaplansky's lemma, is obtained as follows. If n = 2m, we choose s from among the m even integer s, no two consecutive, and k- s from among the m odd integers, no two consecutive.</jats:p

    Super-efficient energy buildings

    No full text
Recently, a highly energy-efficient house was built in Chignolo, near Bergamo in Northern Italy. A ten-year experience in Germany shows that it is possible, with limited technological and economical investment, to achieve a reduction in current energy consumption as large as 90% in comparison with a traditional building. The house is the first example of such a low-energy building in Italy, where the climate is warmer than Germany and summer conditions must be properly addressed in order to avoid overheating

Muon collider: The Low EMittance Muon Accelerator (LEMMA) approach

    No full text
This work introduces a new proposal for a low–emittance muon accelerator (LEMMA) in which muon beam is obtained from the e+e-→m+m- annihilation process with positrons at the threshold energy of 45 GeV. The experimental test beam setup implemented to validate this concept is presented together with preliminary results from the experimental data
