Molecular dynamics simulation of dislocation mobility in single crystal silicon
No full text학위논문(석사) - 한국과학기술원 : 기계공학전공, 2011.2, [ iv, 60 p. ]분자동역학 방법은 실리콘 단결정 구조에 존재하는 나선전위의 이동성을 연구하기 위하여 사용되었다. 본 연구에서 분자동역학 모델은 주기적인 경계조건을 주기 위하여 모델이 대칭성을 만족하여야 한다. 전위선 방향과 그에 수직하는 두 방향으로 정합성을 이루기 위하여 셔플 면에 네 개의 전위가 존재하게 되어 주기적인 경계조건을 적용시킨다. 실리콘 단결정 구조 모델에 전단 변형을 주어 Peierls응력을 계산하는데 Peierls 응력은 0K에서 전위가 이동을 시작하는 응력으로 변형률 속도, 모델의 크기에 따라 같은 조건에서도 결과가 다르게 나타난다. 따라서 수렴하는 응력 값을 찾기 위해 변형률 속도를 변형시키고 모델의 크기를 키우며 최적화된 값을 찾는다. 연구에서 구한 변형률 속도는 실제 실험값과 매우 큰 차이를 보이지만 분자정역학으로 Peierls응력을 계산한 결과와 비슷한 값을 보이므로 시뮬레이션 결과는 타당하다. 실리콘의 벌크한 성질을 표현하기 위해서는 최대한 모델의 크기를 키우는 것이 합당하나 모델이 커지면 계산 시간이 제곱의 비율로 커지므로 시간의 한계 때문에 약 18000개의 원자를 갖는 모델로 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 전위의 임계응력은 온도에 의존하므로 그에 따른 결과를 계산하였다. 온도가 증가하면 전위의 임계응력은 감소한다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 전위는 kink를 형성하며 이동함을 확인하였고, 전위이동을 위한 활성화 에너지, 전위의 위치와 이동속도를 계산하였다.한국과학기술원 : 기계공학전공

Translation, Adaptation, and Appropriation in Brook's <i>Mahabharata</i>
No full textIn this article So-Rim Lee closely investigates the Mahābhārata in relation to – but quite distinct from – The Mahabharata: a Play (1985) by Peter Brook and Jean-Claude Carrière. Since the ancient text of the Mahābhārata does not have a definitive author, version, or form, So-Rim Lee argues that Brook and Carrière's framing of their modern reading as an adaptation of the ancient text poses a series of questions regarding the politics of recontextualizing a South Asian text in Western terms, the methodological process involved in doing this, and the ethical stance espoused by the transcultural adapters. She then questions whether the audience actually finds Brook and Carrière's international, multi - racial production as cosmopolitan and multicultural as the authors claim it to be. If The Mahabharata: a Play is a matter of cultural appropriation rather than adaptation, what transgressions are involved in reframing the source text and how does it produce what Gayatri Spivak calls ‘epistemic violence’? Lee is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Theater and Performance Studies at Stanford University. She has previously reviewed for Theatre Survey and Performance Research.</jats:p

Performance Evaluation of Systolic DCNN Accelerators
No full textFor the given deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) models, in this work, we carefully evaluate systolic DNN accelerators associated with different array configurations. In order to find the optimal array structure in terms of the processing efficiency, the open-source evaluation framework is adopted for investigating the relationships between the network architecture and the hardware-level options. We also present the selection criteria of array structure that leads to the efficient accelerator designs.1
