PROGRAM RANE INTERVENCIJE NAMENJEN RODITELJIMA PREVREMENO RODENE DECE”(EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM FOR PARENTS OF PREMATURE INFANTS. EFFECTS OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT IN THE FIRST WEEKS OF LIFE ON CHILD DEVELOPMENT AT 6 AND 12 MONTHS)
Low birth weight preterm children are at-risk for developmental difficulties, cognitive and emotional disabilities. An intervention program, aimed to ameliorate parents–infant communication, involved 11 low birth weight infants, without birth complications, from low socio-cultural level families. The intervention consisted in: 1) psychological support to improve parents’ communication and caregiving during the first weeks of life; 2) follow-up assessment at 6 months on the parent-infant interaction; 3) follow-up assessment at 12/18 months on the Mother-Infant attachment. The general hypothesis was that ameliorating the quality of parents-newborn interaction in the first weeks of life, especially reinforcing the imitation, could predispose the newborn to develop a secure attachment bond. The mother-infant communication improved in all cases at first step, but only 3/11 children were secure-attached at 12/18 months. The same three children had the father regularly attending the encounters, supporting the mothers, thus indicating a good quality in the marital relationship. Early parent-infant communication can be improved with a psychological support, but the quality of the marital relationship seems to be more related to a long-term effect represented by the secure attachment

EMOTION DYSREGULATION IN ALCOHOL RELATED INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW
This article aims to investigate the association between emotion dysregulation and alcohol related intimate partner violence. A systematic review was conducted through a literature research for relevant studies on Medline, CINAHL Plus with Full Text, Psycoinfo and PsycArticle from inception through April 11, 2015. Additional articles were retrieved manually searching in reference lists. All relevant articles were accessed in full text. Data on study type; cases; controls; country; effect estimate; adjustments for confounders and quality of publication were extracted. The quality of the publications were scored by adherence to the STROBE and CONSORT 2010 checklists. Four studies satisfied the predefined criteria for inclusion and were included in this review. Results highlighted support for future research on emotion dysregulation and alcohol related intimate partner violence

Cross-cultural validation and psychometric testing of the counseling center assessment of psychological symptoms: Experience of Serbia
Psychological distress in university students represents a rising public health concern. The complexity of this phenomenon calls for a more in-depth scrutiny, in order to address the wide diversity of mental health issues that may arise in this population. The instrument designed for the purpose of measuring the student-specific distress is needed. An appropriate tool is the Counseling Center Assessment of Psychological Symptoms 62 (CCAPS-62), multidimensional scale widely used at many universities. The objective of the present study was to translate, culturally adapt and psychometrically validate CCAPS-62 in Serbian student population. A total of 1326 Belgrade University students were recruited from twelve different faculties. Considering the possible culturally conditioned differences in the quality of distress both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were performed. The results of the exploratory factor analysis supported the eight-factor model with the item composition of the factors different to a certain extent from the original version. This measurement model was verified by confirmatory factor analysis. Findings demonstrated good internal consistency for the total scale as well as for the eight subscales applied among Serbian students. Implications are discussed with respect to the cultural context of mental health concerns in student population
