Properties of Cantor function Author: Martin Fiala Supervisor: Stanislav Hencl Abstract: In the present thesis we study main properties of the Can- tor function (sometimes called Cantor Devil's staircase in popular lit- erature), named after significant german mathematician Georg Cantor ( 3 March 1845 in St Petersburg, 6 Jan 1918 in Halle).

A comparison of the dynamic thermal sensation between the modified Stolwijk model and the Fiala thermal physiology and comfort (FPC) model

    No full text
Stolwijk developed a thermophysiological human model which, to day, is still the basis and inspiration for many other thermophysiological human models. The Stolwijk model used in this study is improved with regard of the calculation of the skin temperature and equipped with clothing as well as thermal sensation. Fiala also developed a thermophysiological model, based on the Stolwijk model, and is currently considered to be the latest development in thermophysiological human models. The current version of the Fiala model is known in practice as the Fiala thermal Physiology and Comfort (FPC) model. In the FPC model an equation is included to predict the thermal sensation under dynamic conditions, the so called Dynamic Thermal Sensation (DTS), based on the simulated core temperature and the mean skin temperature. This DTS-model was developed based on the subjects’ votes in early studies, which did not involve physiological measurements; instead, Fiala used his physiology model to predict the skin and the core temperatures from environmental variables measured in the tests. The correlations are therefore specific to the Fiala physiology model. In order to find out to what extent the DTS calculation results of the modified Stolwijk model deviate from the FPC model (version 5.3), in this study a number of variant calculations were carried out. Three well described and known scientific experiments from the professional literature are used for this, for a homogenous step-change transient thermal environment and for sedentary activity.Emerging Material

    Sound analyzer

Title: Sound analyzer Author: Jiří Daniel Department: Department of Applied Mathematics Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Jiří Fiala, Ph.D., Department of Applied Mathematics, Malostranské nám. 25, 118 00 Praha 1 Supervisor's e-mail adress: [email protected] Abstract: The goal is to program a utility that would conduct the spectral analysis of the audio signal. Special attention will be given that the analysis was carried out in real time (here it is necessary to optimize data flows depending on the computational power of machines) and to allow the user to specify the width and the density of each frequency band. The work can be extended to the preparation of spectral filters, which would carry out the downstream signal conditioning. Keywords: spectral analysis, Fourier transformation, digital band-pass filter, feedbac

Sobolev mappings and Cantor type counterexamples Author: Martin Fiala Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Stanislav Hencl, Ph.D. Abstract: The aim of this work is to show one of the general con- structions of the mappings, which can be used to create different coun- terexamples in the theory of Sobolev mappings. The construction is described in detail and then it is used for a number of examples. The last chapter is devoted to a slight generalization of this construction.

V Abstract (in English) Author: Lucie Fiala Title: Case study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Transfemoral Amputation Objectives: The thesis is structured in three main parts. The first part provides background information on lower limb amputations, covering the etiology, prevalence, clinical picture, etiology, prevalence, types of lower limb amputations, prosthetics, prognosis, complications, and patho-kinesiology. The second part covers the physiotherapy and rehabilitation that goes into lower limb amputations and currently available treatments. The final part presents a case study conducted at the Nemocnice na Homolce, including detailed examinations, therapy interventions, results evaluation, and therapy effectiveness. Methods: All examinations and treatments are based on the knowledge I have acquired in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Charles University. These include goniometry, anthropometric measurements, posture and gait examinations and training, breathing pattern, muscle strength tests, and movement pattern. The methods used for the patient therapy were primarily strengthening exercises, stretching, soft tissue therapy, and PIR. No invasive methods were used. The main goals of the therapy were to reduce the pain and edema, improve mobility, balance, and coordination,...III Abstract (in Czech) Autor: Lucie Fiala Název: Kazuistika pacienta fyzioterapeutické péče o pacienta s diagnózou Transfemorální amputací Cíle: Tato práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí. První část poskytuje základní informace o amputaci dolní končetiny, včetně etiologie, prevalence, klinického obrazu, typů amputací dolní končetiny, protetiky, prognózy, komplikací a patokineziologie. Druhá část se věnuje fyzioterapii a rehabilitaci dolních končetin po amputaci a současným dostupným metodám léčby. Poslední část představuje kazuistiku provedenou v Nemocnici Na Homolce, včetně podrobného vyšetření, terapeutických zásahů, vyhodnocení výsledků a účinnosti terapie. Metody: Všechna vyšetření a terapie jsou založena na znalostech získaných na Fakultě tělesné výchovy a sportu Univerzity Karlovy. Mezi ně patří goniometrie, antropometrická měření, vyšetření držení těla a chůze a trénink, dechová sekvence, testy síly svalů a Jandovy pohybové stereotypy. Metody používané pro terapii pacienta byly především posilovací cvičení, protahování, terapie měkkých tkání a PIR. Nebyly použity žádné invazivní metody. Hlavní cíle terapie bylo snížit bolest a otok, zlepšit pohyblivost, rovnováhu a koordinaci, posílit zbývající končetinu a okolní svaly, předejít sekundárním komplikaci (např. PLP, kontrakturám) a zlepšit držení...Katedra fyzioterapieDepartment of PhysiotherapyFaculty of Physical Education and SportFakulta tělesné výchovy a sport
