La fine di un mondo. Per una metafisica dei bisogni radicali
The end of the work society cannot be addressed in exclusively sociological
terms, but contains theoretical implications. In fact, the very experience of the
self-understanding of the human being and the production of subjectivity is modified.
Needs, taking the place of work as a total social fact, no longer refer to an object or a final satisfaction, but become nothing more than a sign. Starting from this initial thesis, the paper proposes two questions: 1. What happens to the subject in the era in which need is nothing more than a sign? 2. Can a metaphysics of radical needs contribute to freeing human beings from the semiotization of need
Altrove. Ontologia ed etica tra Kafka e Levinas
There could be no Burrow if there were no elsewhere. Everything in the burrow starts with life, but life simply isn’t there. The burrow is precisely this: the effort to give a form of space to the life that is elsewhere. As also happens in the house of Levinas: another attempt to give a form of space to the radical separation between ontology and ethics. With a fundamental difference: in Kafka the burrow is formed starting from a primacy of thought, in Levinas starting from the primacy of the sensible
L'esigenza assoluta dell'umano. Ferretti interprete di Levinas
The absolute need of the human. Ferretti in dialogue with Levinas
The essay reconstructs the four fundamental stages of the interpretation that
Ferretti proposes of Levinas’ thought. The final outcome is an attempt to
place Levinas within the broader discussion on the outcomes of secularization
and the mutual interpenetration of philosophy and theology
Utopia, Work, Neoliberalism. Marginal Say and Foucault Notes
We are used to refer to neoliberalism as the age when economic rationality triumphs. Quite the contrary, the thesis of this contribution is that the deep force of neoliberalism lies in its utopian core. Such a thesis is pointed out through the analysis of Michel Foucault works. Even the current transformations of the meaning of job find in this way a moral legitimation, not only a rational one, due to the appeal and the force of this utopian core
Della democrazia o della fraternità senza radice. Un’aporia e due tesi
The essay show how fraternity manifests an aporetics of the origin of democracy. The crossing of this aporetics will give rise to two theses: [i] democracy is an attempt not yet realized to secularize fraternity. [ii] Democracy is the attempt to ward off that pathology of fraternity that we call terror, through the invention of specific social devices and techniques
Eredità, debito, restituzione
The essay read the contemporary experience of generational bonds not only within the paradigm of justice, but starting from an original surplus which is referred to as debt. Through this interpretation we will rethink the Arendtian dialectic between past and future not only in the sense of nostalgia for tradition but also in the sense of an original difference that must be preserved – and not just crossed – in the bond between generations
