Leucosolenia microspinata sp. nov. (Porifera, Calcarea) a new species from the Mediterranean Sea.
A new species of Leucosoleniidae, Leucosolenia microspinata sp. nov., from the southern Tyrrhenian Sea (Porto Vecchio
pond, Marinello Marine Reserve, Messina) is here described. The species consists of a dense reticulation of ascon tubes
having a colour ranging from white-cream to light-brown. Its spiculation consists of diactines sometimes serrated or microspined,
not separable into size-classes, triactines of four types and tetractines with microspined apical actine. The comparison
with other Mediterranean Leucosolenia is reported
Well-aging: Early Detection of Skin Aging Signs
The aim of the current review is to provide an overview of the use of reflectance confocal microscopy to detect early skin aging signs. This new imaging tool holds the promise to morphologically explore the epidermis and upper dermis at nearly histologic resolution and over time. The main confocal findings of aged skin include the presence of irregular honeycombed pattern, linear skin furrows, mottled pigmentation, and distinct collagen types (coarse and huddled)

Dati preliminari sul popolamento a poriferi associato alla piattaforma a vermetidi del litorale pugliese.
The sponge assemblage from the vermetid reefs along the Apulian coast (Ionian Sea) has been investigated. A total of 25 taxa were found, some of which under the external board of the reefs and in the cuvettes, the remaining between the interstices in the reefs portion under active building

Melanomas
Melanomas are a wide range of tumors that differ in their epidemiology, morphology, genetic profile, and biological behavior. They can be grouped as superficial spreading melanoma, lentigo maligna, and nodular melanoma. Reflectance confocal microscopy is useful for the evaluation of skin lesions that are dermoscopically doubtful by increasing diagnostic accuracy and specificity. This article provides a comprehensive overview of the different confocal main morphologies of distinct melanoma types as a function of the anatomic location of the tumor
