No full textShadow economy and tax evasion are widely studied topics in economics and behavioural sciences. Still, determinants of the tax behaviour of individuals and firms (including psychological aspects and social and cultural norms and customs) are not fully understood. Additionally, questions related to the evolution, operation, and design of formal institutions capable of effectively counteracting these two widespread and related phenomena remain (substantially) unanswered. Finally, fiscal policies fighting against shadow economy and tax evasion could (at least in the short term and in some countries) have adverse effects on economic growth and unemployment. This Special Issue Reprint contributed to improving the understanding of several aspects of shadow economy and tax evasion. It comprises 12 papers, both theoretical and empirical, by scholars and experts in the field

Inshina, mosses and lichens on limestones and soil, July 2007: 76 specimens and 24 eggs. Crimean Peninsula, mountain range Karadagh (approx. 44 ° 55 ʹ N, 35 ° 13 ʹ E), collector N.S. Yakowenko, July 2000): three specimens and one egg. Homeownership and Equilibrium Unemployment (Chapter 7)
No full textThis chapter delves into the role of homeownership in the equilibrium unemployment theory studied in Chapter 1. Specifically, this chapter introduces in the so-called Beveridge curve (that determines the unemployment rate), the finding that outright homeowners exert less effort in searching for a job than tenants. Also, this chapter introduces in the so-called Job Creation Condition (which determines the equilibrium value of market tightness), the hypothesis that outright homeowners invest more in human capital, since they are usually wealthier than tenants. Eventually, the “net” effect of homeownership on (un)employment is, a priori, ambiguous and will depend on the strength of the two opposite effects: the “search intensity” effect, and the “labour productivity” effect
