ST 1 ♂ [MRAC]: Zaire: Congo da Lemba; ST 1 ♂ [SMNS]: Zaire: Kinshasa. Syn. nov. Lindner (1935) described the genus Hypoceromys and pointed out the similarity to Psapharomys Grünberg. But because of the more dorsally inserted arista-like last antennal flagellomere, he proposed this new genus. He was not aware of the strong sexual dimorphism in this genus (and in the related Psapharomys, see below). When he described Meristomeringella jamesi (Fig. 5), he compared the new genus with Meristomerinx Enderlein, which is strange because the two genera are not really similar, especially vein R 2+3 arising distinctly distal to crossvein r–m in Meristomerinx and proximal to crossvein r–m in Meristomeringella. Only a year later he described Hypoxycera simplex and mentioned that the last antennal flagellomere was inserted slightly dorsad on the spindle shaped flagellum, which is also the case in Meristomeringella jamesi. We examined the type specimens of both species and concluded that they are conspecific, and that they belong in the genus Hypoceromys. No full textGenus Rhaphiocerina Lindner, 1936 Rhaphiocerina Lindner, 1936. Flieg. Palaearkt. Reg. 4 (1): 32. Type species: Rhaphiocera hakiensis Matsumura, by original designation. Diagnosis. Body length 6.0–7.0 mm. Eyes bare in both sexes, contiguous in males and widely separated in females. Both sexes with broad postocular rim and slightly narrow in males. Antenna inserted on a square tubercle; flagellum about as long as scape and pedicel combined. Male frons linear. Scutellum trapezoid with pair of reduced spines. Vein R 4 present, vein M 3 incomplete or invisible, vein CuA 1 not arising from discal cell. Abdomen longer than wide. Distribution. Known only from Asia, including Japan (Kyushu) and South China (Guangxi province). Remarks. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
