Introduzione: La rizoartrosi, processo degenerativo artrosico
Scopo dello studio è valutare i risultati
clinici e radiografici della tecnica modificata rispetto all’originale.
Tale
differenza tende ad annullarsi con il tempo. L’esecuzione di terapie
conservative preoperatorie determina migliori outcomes.
fattore eziopatogenetico.

Intervista a Pamela Villoresi
One of the most important actresses of the Italian
theatre, Pamela Villoresi, talks about her relationship with Eleonora Duse. She is in conversation with
Maria Letizia Compatangelo, author of the monologue La musica dell’anima. Ritratto di Eleonora
Duse, successfully interpreted for some years. Villoresi’s talk is from her youthful instinctive attraction to the “Duse character”, to her mature understanding of the value of her innovations in the field
of acting. Comparisons, legacies, teachings: two different periods, but the same all-encompassing commitment to the theatre
Curia athletarum, iera xystike synodos e organizzazione delle terme a Roma
The author studies several aspects of the roman branch of this association of athletes: the location of its headquarters in the city, its history and its administration. The synodos was somehow connected with the sympas xystos, headed by xystarchai and epi balaneion Sebastou or Sebaston. The author studies the functions of these magistrates in connection with the organization of the Imperial Bath in Rome. The author argues that the xystarchai, appointed by the Emperor, may have been in charge of the athletes, while the epi balaneion were responsible for the place where athletics were performed
Feasibility of en bloc thulium laser enucleation of the prostate in a large case series. Are results enhanced by experience?
To provide the first large single-operator case series of patients who undergo "en bloc" thulium laser enucleation of the prostate (ThuLEP) and to demonstrate an improvement in enucleation efficacy with experience
The paper collects and studies the (mainly epigraphical, but also literary and archaeological) evidence concerning Greek agonistic festivals celebrated in three cities of Gallia Narbonensis: Massalia, Nemausus and Vienne. The latter two were not Greek foundations, but they were throughly hellenized under the influence of Massalia. In three catalogues, the author presents texts, with bibliography and commentary of 28 inscriptions (the inscriptions still extant have been seen and photographed). Most of them date to the end of the 2nd century A.D., which leads to the hypothesis that the Capitolia, instituted by Domitian in 86 A.D., were a major stimulus to the diffusion of Greek contests in Gaul. The author points to the relations between these festivals and the imperial cult and to the important role of local élites in the organisation of both
Historical centres between specificity and changing process
The Italian debate on historical centers, characterized for a long time by a karst trend,
has often been lacking both in terms of recognizing their specificity and in terms of a process analysis of their characteristics. The starting point is to recognize them as integral parts
of the city but, at the same time, as parts characterized by completely peculiar features.
Sometimes historical centers are considered a resource for the city in terms of social and
economic development, other times an issue that requires intervention strategies. The author
proposes a reflection that moves from the peculiarities of each reality, to connect them to a
typological proposal focused on the change processes affecting historic centers. This perspective of analysis allows and paves the way for planning interventions of urban regeneration policie
Towards a Framework for Developing Mobile Agents for Managing Distributed Information Resources
Distributed information management tools allow users to author, disseminate, discover and manage information within large-scale networked environments, such as the Internet. Agent technology provides the flexibility and scalability necessary to develop such distributed information management applications. We present a layered organisation that is shared by the specific applications that we build. Within this organisation we describe an architecture where mobile agents can move across distributed environments, integrate with local resources and other mobile agents, and communicate their results back to the user
The author outlines the role that coal has played from the expansive phase of industrial development to the present days. Coal is still the most abundant and widespread fossil fuel, whose consumption is driven by the impetuous growth of China and India and the recent increase in production in the United States. Thus, the mining proletariat still exists: there are operative coal mines on all continents and coal miners are more than those who worked in the English coal mines at the time of the industrial revolution; in some countries their working conditions are not very different from those of two centuries ago, whereas Trade Unions are weaker or non-existent. This gives an unexpected topicality to the study of the work of miners between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, which the author also performs through the contribution of literature, starting from the characteristics of an unnatural and hostile work environment, which the industrial hunger of fossil and metal-mining resources has prevented (and still prevents) from considering a denial of human condition
Taking advantage of inheritance to specify parallel object behavior
The author authors describe how the PO (parallel object) method takes advantage of inheritance to specify PO behavior at two different levels of abstraction: by programming intraobject scheduling and by expressing constraints. Low-level mechanisms that implement intraobject concurrent strategies in terms of variables and methods of scheduling are presented. Scheduling methods are subject to classification and inheritance; their combination forms the scheduler of objects. The predefined constraints available in PO method are described. The application of constraints to classes of objects related by inheritance produces constraint composition that is automatically translated into low-level specifications
