This is a de-identified electronic medical records dataset used to performed the analysis in the paper under the title: "Deriving the Treatment Effect of Post-acute Care Settings on Readmission Rates using Propensity Score Matching". This dataset is a 50% random sample from the original full dataset. The original dataset contain the inpatients record from a Mid-west healthcare system between March 1, 2011 to July 31, 2012, with certain exclusion criteria applied. The current dataset covers 62064 records with 240 clinical variables. All identifiable information has been taken out to fulfill HIPAA requirement. And a 50% random sample is taken out to offer further protection for confidentiality. This dataset can be used to replicate the analysis described in the mentioned paper
