The author here gives us brief biography of his father, Lucien Vidal-Naquet, a lawyer, and presents the journal he kept from September 1942 to February 1944. On May 15, 1944, Lucien Vidal-Naquet was deported to the internment camps of Baumettes, Drancy, and finally to Auschwitz, never to return. Lucien Vidal-Naquet was a "dejudaïzed Jewish bourgeois" (as wrote Raymond Aron) and French patriot appalled by the armistice and the Vichy regime. Prevented from practicing law from 1942 on he refused to flee danger the seriousness of which he fully appreciated.Vidal-Naquet Pierre. No full textEn tant que geògraf i ciutadà, Paul Vidal de La Blache ha inscrit les seves idees i la seva acció en la modernitat. Però, de quina modernitat es tracta? I, per sobre de tot, com mobilitza la idea moderna de l’individu com a protagonista? La conferència va voler donar resposta a aquestes qüestions, en la mida que Vidal va integrar-les en la seva geografia, la qual és una concepció del món completa que va més enllà d’una simple acceptació del progrés tècnic i econòmic vuitcentista. Pas a pas, s’assenyala l’impacte del corrent de pensament neokantià en Vidal i el seu esforç per a l’educació geogràfica de l’individu, un subjecte autònom el qual pot superar apriorismes i determinismes. En aquesta perspectiva, el regionalisme propugnat per Vidal incita el solidarisme geogràfic i obre perspectives globals sobre l’horitzó nacional, al qual l’han limitat molts dels seus comentaristes.Paraules clau: Vidal de La Blache, modernitat, història de la geografia.As a geographer and as a citizen, Paul Vidal de La Blache left his ideas and his action in the modernity. But, what kind of modernity? And overall, how did he define the modern idea of the individual as a protagonist? This conference tried to respond to all these questions, and how Vidal integrated them in his geography. In his understanding of the world that went beyond the traditional acceptance of the technical and economic progress. Eventually, the impact of Vidal neokantian thought is pointed as well as his effort for the geographic education of individuals to overcome prejudices and determinisms. Under this perspective, Vidal’s regionalism encouraged geographic solidarity and opened global perspectives on the national horizon, in contrast to what some of his reviewers said.Keywords: Vidal de La Blache, modernity, history of Geography.En tanto que geógrafo y ciudadano, Paul Vidal de La Blache ha inscrito sus ideas y su acción en la modernidad. Pero, ¿de qué modernidad se trata? Y, por encima de todo, ¿cómo moviliza la idea moderna del individuo como protagonista? La conferencia quiso dar respuesta a estas cuestiones, en la medida que Vidal las integró en su geografía, la cual es una concepción del mundo completa que va más allá de una simple aceptación del progreso técnico y económico decimonónico. Paso a paso, se señala el impacto de la corriente de pensamiento neokantiano en Vidal y su esfuerzo para la educación geográfica del individuo, un sujeto autónomo que puede superar apriorismos y determinismos.
