Polyprenols from the leaves of quercus ilex infected by microsphaera aphitoides

    No full text
C45, C50, C55 and C60 polyprenols with usual isoprenoid unsaturation were isolated from Q. ilex leaves infected by fungus M. alphitoides. The most abundant C55 prenol was found to be identical with already known ficaprenol-11. The assignment of all the signals in its 13C-nmr spectrum confirmed the alignment of the Z and E internal residues. A structure-based naming system for unsaturated polyprenols was suggested. © 1983, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved

Isoprenoids from the leaves of Quercus suber

Besides seventeen already known lupane and oleanane triterpenes, epibetulinic aldehyde has been isolated from the leaves of Quercus súber. In addition, 9-, 10-, 11-, and 12-prenol were present in specimens infected by the fungus Microsphaera alphitoides. © 1984, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved

A linear diterpene diolfrom Lemna minor

Four known isoprenoids were isolated from Lemna minor besides a novel diterpene which was attributed the structure (4R)-4-hydroxyisophytol by spectroscopic studies and chemical correlation. © 1984

    Cyclopropylcarbinyl compounds from homoallylic iodides

A simple synthesis of cyclopropylcarbinyl compounds based on the reaction of homoallylic iodides with silver salts in anhydrous medium is described. © 1984

Further oxygenated fatty acids from Lemna minor

In a re-investigation of the aquatic plant Lemna minor, two novel cyclopen-tanoid Cl6 fatty acids, 6a and 7a, have been isolated and characterized as the corresponding methyl esters on the basis of their physical and chemical features. A biogenetic pathway similar to that of the prostaglandins is suggested for these compounds. © 1987, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved

Fatty acid composition in Lemna minor-characterization of a novel hydroxy C16 acid

    No full text
The triacylglycerol fraction of Lemna minor afforded mainly 16:1 and 16:3 fatty acids and a novel hydroxy acid (10R)-hydroxyhexadeca-7Z,11E,13Z-trienoic. The free fatty acid fraction was composed of a similarly distributed mixture. © 1983

Three biologically active phenylpropanoid glucosides from Myriophyllum verticillatum

    No full text
Three novel phenylpropanoid glucosides have been isolated from a methanolic extract of Myriophyllum verticillatum and their structures defined by spectroscopic methods and chemical degradations. The biological activity of these compounds on the cyanobacterium Synechococcus leopoliensis has been investigated. © 1992

    A steroid from Pistia stratiotes

A novel stigmastane, 11α-hydroxy-24S-ethyl-5α-cholest-22-en-3,6-dione, has been isolated from the aquatic plant Pistia stratiotes. The structure determination was accomplished by spectroscopic methods. A revision of the NMR assignments of an analogous cholestane sterol is also reported. © 1991
