Silent letters in English and Slovene learners
V sleherni jezik vedno znova prihajajo nove besede. New words are constantly being added to every language. Some of them disappear quickly, others are only used for some time, while some stay permanently in the vocabulary of the language. Thus we encounter a great number of new words in our lives, among these also neologisms for denoting people. These are the subject of the research in this diploma paper. We searched for the neologisms denoting people in randomly chosen up-to-date magazines, newspapers or on the internet – on different portals, blogs or chat rooms. The time span considered was from September 2008 to August 2009. Neologisms were thoroughly classified according to their word-formation class and typical affixes. We checked the occurrence of each found neologism in the corpuses FidaPLUS and Nova beseda. An alphabetical dictionary of the found neologisms was made, as well as graphs for the occurrence of individual words in the corpuses between the years 2003 and 2009

The problem of the „male“ language (on works by Miglena Nikolchina and Irena Ivanova)
The paper is devoted to the problem of the „male“ language which can be found in the works of two Bulgarian poets – Miglena Nikolchina and Irena Ivanova (better known by her pseudonym Rene Karabaš). The author associates them with the change that happens in literary criticism and the literary production itself after the 1990s. The author considers the synthesis of poetry and prose, poetry and theory as an intertextual „dialogue” through which is possible to analyze the texts of both poets. Thematically, the article focuses on the ways in which the woman gains „a right to have a voice“ rejecting her gender to take up the poet’s word and on how man appears to be a „quotation” in their works

The author of the article deals with the poetic newspaper debut of Irena Tuwim (1898-1987), an outstanding author and translator of children’s literature, but also a poet who is forgotten or read only on the margin of the literary output of her brother, Julian Tuwim (1894-1953). The poem titled Panienka (A Maiden), published in Godzina Polski in 1916, is hereby subjected to a contextual analysis and referred to other poems by Irena Tuwim as well as confronted with her existence, also in the auto-emancipatory dimension

Editor as Author; or, on Irena Lukšić’s Editorial Genre
While to the reading public Irena Lukšić is surely best known as our principal translator of Russian literature, her decades-long toil in the field of literature extended far beyond translation. She was a prominent scholar of Russian emigre literature, as well as an exceptionally fertile prose writer and, last but not least, an important editor. The world-literature series In the Wake of Classics, which she edited for fifteen years, includes four rather unusual publications of her own, a kind of by-products of her editorial work. The paper will attempt to answer the question to which genre possibly belong the books Idols and Rascals: Famous People in Literary Works (an Essay), Towns Hamlets Castles: a Guide for Literary Tourists, Classics Left to Cats: an Attempt to Read Literary Texts Otherwise and Feasting in the Wake of Classics (a Literary »Cookbook«) and provide an outline of their relation to Irena Lukšić’s other literary interests and accomplishments
