Applications of Ferro-Nanofluid on a Micro-Transformer
No full textAn on-chip transformer with a ferrofluid magnetic core has been developed and tested. The transformer consists of solenoid-type coil and a magnetic core of ferrofluid, with the former fabricated by MEMS technology and the latter by a chemical co-precipitation method. The performance of the MEMS transformer with a ferrofluid magnetic core was measured and simulated with frequencies ranging from 100 kHz to 100 MHz. Experimental results reveal that the presence of the ferrofluid increases the inductance of coils and the coupling coefficient of transformer; however, it also increases the resistance owing to the lag between the external magnetic field and the magnetization of the material
Limit on the Neutrino Magnetic Moment from the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Experiment
No full text[[abstract]]A search of neutrino magnetic moment was carried out at the Kuo-Sheng Nuclear Power Station at a distance of 28 m from the 2.9 GW reactor core. With a high purity germanium detector of mass 1.06 kg surrounded by scintillating NaI(T1) and CsI(T1) crystals as anti-Compton detectors, a detection threshold of 5 keV and a background level of 1 kg-1 keV-1day-1at 12-60 keV were achieved. Based on 4712 and 1250 h of reactor ON and OFF data, respectively, the limit on the neutrino magnetic moment of μve 2.8 X 1018 eV3 s can be inferred.[[fileno]]2010115010013[[department]]物理
