Introduction: The incidence of type 1 diabetes is increasing yearly, which will result in more and more pregnant women with increased risk for negative pregnancy outcome. Through correct disease management, it is possible to decrease or entirely eliminate these risks. In this process, women find very helpful the use of an insulin pump, which enables a mode of insulin secretion most similar to the pancreas of a healthy individual. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is present type 1 diabetes and describe the correct approach to blood sugar regulation in pregnant women with this type of diabetes using an insulin pump, supported by a balanced diet and physical activity. Methods: The theoretical part of the paper uses a descriptive method with an overview of Slovenian and foreign professional and scientific literature. The empirical part of the paper presents a case study of a woman with type 1 diabetes using an insulin pump during pregnancy. Results: The case study presents pregnancy of a woman with type 1 diabetes using an insulin pump. Throughout her pregnancy, her needs for insulin were observed, which changed depending on the period of pregnancy and different factors. Discussion and conclusion: The pregnant woman with type 1 diabetes using an insulin pump, supported by a balanced diet and physical activity, achieved the set goals in terms of maintaining blood sugar, despite different needs for insulin in different periods of pregnancy, which decreased the risk for a negative pregnancy outcome, the development of fetal abnormalities and chronic disease complications in a pregnant woman

Nad glavno cesto Godovič - Idrija smo preučevali stabilnost varovalnih gozdov.Izbrali smo dve ploskvieno v gospodarjenem in drugo v negospodarjenemsestoju. Stability of protective forests above the main road Godovič - Idrija was analysed on two research plots. One plot was observed in a managed stand whilethe other in an unmanaged stand. On each plot stand parameters, coarse woody debris, stumps and natural regeneration of tree species were analysed. Trees were registered on two whole plot areas each measuring 3500 m2 while regeneration was observed on 70 subplots (1,5 x 1,5 m). Natural regeneration of tree species was registered also on a larger open surface, on 10 subplots. Ecological stability in protection forests is assured by sufficient natural regeneration, diverse composition of species and optimal forest structure. Regeneration was insufficient on the unmanaged plot. Outgrowing to higher treediameters was not ensured. Regeneration was successful on the managed plot. On the large cleared area a dense ground vegetation obstructed the development of seedlings. On all plots the protective function was not ensuredsince the distance between the trees should not exceed 40 m. Because this distance was exceeded the falling stones could gain high speed and destructive power. Rockfall hazard for a rock of one meter diameter, calculated using Rockfor.net tool, was high on both surfaces (17-20 %). The suggested solution is to reduce the breast diameter and increase the density of trees. The density is sufficient in case that in calculation are consideredalso dead stationary trees and stumps, both higher than breast height. Fallen trees can be positioned transversely to slope thus serving as an obstacle for falling stones

Visualizing and managing value creation through integrated reporting practices: a dynamic resource-based perspective

The article builds on the current debate on how accounting tools can assist top management teams to manage their resources, while communicating a variety of data and information about value creation to their stakeholders. Within this debate, the study focuses on a recent tool for corporate reporting, the Integrated Reporting (〈IR〉), and investigates its utility to support the development of a holistic model for managing strategic resources to create value. To operationalize the 〈IR〉 according to this perspective, the article combines 〈IR〉 with the Dynamic Resource-Based View (DRBV) of the firm on the basis of their common idea that strategic resources are interconnected and have to be managed with the collaboration of all stakeholders in order to inform governance actions and create value with a holistic perspective. For the two case studies analyzed, the information provided by the two organizations’ 〈IR〉 is specifically organized and re-framed using “resource mapping”, which is a DRBV-based visual and analytical technique representing the causal relationships between resources and governance actions. In this way, we not only aim to re-organize and visualize existing information into a new form, but we also expect to describe and communicate the dominant logic in the business and the leverage points where the value creation process lies, supporting the usefulness of Integrated Reporting as a management and governance tool.</p

The article explores the role of qualitative system dynamics (SD) in evaluating the information presented in corporate accounting reports. Particularly, this study focuses on a recent corporate report called integrated reporting (), and analyses the information using a specific qualitative SD technique, resource mapping, in order to visualize the key resources and their connections responsible for the performance of the organization. The study's contribution is twofold. First, it provides insights on how to apply qualitative SD in the field of management accounting and corporate reporting. Second, it verifies the benefits of combining qualitative SD and corporate reporting tools to develop new knowledge useful to represent and face the dynamic complexity implicit in a business domain

Experiencing with visuals in accounting education: The case of integrated reports

In addition to the increasing use of visual tools (e.g., maps, graphs, images) in accounting, a growing literature is advocating more research on how visuals can also act as teaching aids to facilitate accounting education. This request particularly concerns the models of corporate reporting providing a multi-dimensional representation of organizations, such as integrated reporting, due to their greater complexity in comparison to traditional accounting reports. Thisarticle addresses such request by specifically investigating the potential of using visuals to support the students’ learning of integrated reports by making the multi-dimensional content of these reports more accessible to learners. To achieve this aim, the article relies on Ausubel’s meaningful learning theory and focuses on the use of a specific visual, named “resource map”. This visual wasparticularly studied with two group workshops, whose participants were involved in developing a resource map from the information of an integrated report. Our findings show that the use of visuals such as resource maps can support the teaching of integrated reports by helping learners to understand the main principles underlying these reports and acting as an ‘advance organizer’ of the data and information describing the multi-dimensionality of organizations
