Silanylidene and Germanylidene Anions: Valence‐Isoelectronic Species to the Well‐Studied Phosphinidene
Abstract The reduction of TipMCl 3 (Tip=2,4,6‐triisopropylphenyl) (M=Si, Ge) with KC 8 in the presence of cyclic alkyl(amino) carbene (cAAC) afforded the acyclic silanylidene and germanylidene anions in the form of potassium salt [K(cAAC)MTip] 2 (M=Si ( 1 ); Ge ( 2 )). The silanylidene and germanylidene anions are valence‐isoelectronic to the well‐studied phosphinidene and are a new class of acyclic anions of Group 14. Compounds 1 and 2 were isolated and well characterized by NMR and single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis. Furthermore, the structure and bonding of compounds 1 and 2 was investigated by computational methods

Blood Cell Detection Using Thresholding Estimation Based Watershed Transformation with Sobel Filter in Frequency Domain
AbstractBlood cells detection in microscopic image provides the information concerning the health of patient. The analysis of blood cells using image processing reduces the manual disease detection error and also the time period. A new thresholding estimation algorithm has been proposed with watershed transforming Sobel filter in frequency domain for detection of different cells in microscopic image. The proposed algorithm performs edge detection using Sobel filter in frequency domain. The present study of Sobel filter uses specific window size scheme to remove noises and detect the fine edges. Consequently, thresholding estimation based watershed transformation is used on the specific window size Sobel filter to increase the intensity of edges with strong contrast. Thus this effective detection algorithm is helpful to identifying and counting the different cells. In this study, proposed algorithm has used 30 numbers of blood microscopic images as test images and obtained higher accuracy results of around 93%. Experimentally, the proposed algorithm yields better structure similarity index measure, compared with the other state-of-art detection method viz. Canny, Sobel and Laplacian operator

Tissue microenvironment functions as an important determinant of the inflammatory response elicited by the resident cells. Yet, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain obscure. Our systems-level analyses identified a duration code that instructs stimulus specific crosstalk between TLR4-activated canonical NF-κB pathway and lymphotoxin-β receptor (LTβR) induced non-canonical NF-κB signaling. Indeed, LTβR costimulation synergistically enhanced the late RelA/NF-κB response to TLR4 prolonging NF-κB target gene-expressions. Concomitant LTβR signal targeted TLR4-induced newly synthesized p100, encoded by Nfkb2, for processing into p52 that not only neutralized p100 mediated inhibitions, but potently generated RelA:p52/NF-κB activity in a positive feedback loop. Finally, Nfkb2 connected lymphotoxin signal within the intestinal niche in reinforcing epithelial innate inflammatory RelA/NF-κB response to Citrobacter rodentium infection, while Nfkb2−/− mice succumbed to gut infections owing to stromal defects. In sum, our results suggest that signal integration via the pleiotropic NF-κB system enables tissue microenvironment derived cues in calibrating physiological responses
Scientometric Study of Superconductivity Research in India from 1989 to 2014
This paper presents scientometric analysis of superconductivity research output in India from 1981 to 2014 and compares it with Global output as reported in Web of Science. The study shows that superconductivity research in India had a steep growth between 1981 and 1988, particularly an abrupt hike in 1987 is noticeable (both Indian and Global) followed by a more or less steady pattern thereafter up to 2014. The Indian growth pattern however differs from Global pattern. A sudden climb was noticed in 1987, which touched the crest in 1991. It started to descend thereafter steadily and troughed in 2003 followed by another steady rise again up to 2014. Indian trend thus shows a dip between 1992 and 2014 unlike Global pattern which was nearly steady over the span. The author productivity pattern only approximately corresponds to Lotka’s law. The number of core journals in the subject area is comparatively less as obtainable by employing Bradford’s law of scattering.</jats:p
