Microstructure and strength modelling of Al-Cu-Mg alloys during non-isothermal treatments: part 1 – controlled heating and cooling
A model is developed to predict the precipitation kinetics and strengthening in Al Cu Mg alloys during non-isothermal treatments consisting of controlled heating and cooling. The prediction of the precipitation kinetics is based on the Kampmann and Wagner model. The precipitation strengthening by the shearable Cu:Mg co clusters is modelled on the basis of the modulus strengthening mechanism and the strengthening by the non-shearable S phase precipitates is based on the Orowan looping mechanism. The model predictions are verified by comparing with hardness, transmission electron microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry data on 2024-T351 aluminium alloys. The microstructural development and strength predictions of the model are generally in close agreement with the experimental data
Khan Academy: Right triangles and trigonometry
The Khan Academy's variegated lessons can serve as a supplement to more traditional, face-to-face math instruction, providing students with helpful resources to tackle everything from basic to complex math. This comprehensive treatment of right triangles and trigonometry offers a balanced overview of a range of topics, starting with the Pythagorean Theorem and progressing through special right triangles, trigonometric ratios, modeling with right triangles, sine, cosine, and more. Each lesson is posted on a virtual video blackboard and questions and answers at the bottom of the screen encapsulate some of the most pressing and common difficulties that students may run into while learning these particular subjects

Achieving Energy Saving through Proxying Applications on behalf of Idle Devices
Several studies in the past have revealed that network end user devices are left powered up 24/7 even when idle just for the sake of maintaining Internet connectivity. Network devices normally support low power states but are kept inactive due to their inability to maintain network connectivity. The Network Connectivity Proxy (NCP) has recently been proposed as an effective mechanism to impersonate network connectivity on behalf of high power devices and enable them to sleep when idle without losing network presence. The NCP can efficiently proxy basic networking protocol, however, proxying of Internet based applications have no absolute solution due to dynamic and non-predictable nature of the packets they are sending and receiving periodically. This paper proposes an approach for proxying Internet based applications and presents the basic software architectures and capabilities. Further, this paper also practically evaluates the proposed framework and analyzes expected energy savings achievable under-different realistic conditions
Islamophobia in the West: A Critical Discourse Analysis of Imran Khan’s UNGA Speech
The tragic and horrendous attack on the World Trade Center also served to construct an unmistakable shape to Islamophobia in the West. It worked as fuel for the already-lit fire of Islamophobia and aggravated the situation with numerous indiscriminate attacks on Muslims. The situation worsened with George Bush’s unequivocal statement: “either you are with us or against us”. This was the call for a cultural war between the West and Muslims framed by the Us versus Them schemata. This research has analyzed the speech of Imran Khan which he delivered at the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, employing van Dijk’s Ideological Square Model with a specific focus on NVivo 12 Plus to inspect the magnitude of the impact of linguistic memorandums from authoritative institutes. The researchers have investigated the lexicalization of Khan’s speech to explore how he uses language to sketch the picture of the West as “them” parallel to “us”. His rhetoric is critically examined through the micro and macro-strategies of the Ideological Square Model. The findings reveal that instead of challenging and interrogating the Us versus Them schema that permeates Islamophobia, Khan himself uses the very same schema to show ideological differences between the West and Muslims
