Confrontation of Facts and Fiction in Karel Václav Rais Writings Taking Account of Trhová Kamenice Region
13. Resume The piece ofthe Czech writer Karel Vaclav Rais is analysed in this thesis, which is regionally related to the region of Trhova Kamenice, where Rais stood and taught. The aim of this work is comparison of Rais' description of the region of Trhova Kamenice in his pieces and reality. A single part ofthis work is even the essay about realism and its development, both in Czech environment, and abroad. Development of Karel Vaclav Rais like realist author isn't missed. Influence of fiction in Rais' pieces is mentioned at the same time. The pieces Spacci, Kaca, Ze vzpominek, Pro cislo, Matka a deti, Tfi povidky z Vysociny are further analysed. Seeing that lack of literary sources exists to stated topics, it was necessary to study these problems from series of archival sources, from less conventional material, like articles in contemporary printing and Nevole family chronicle. After detailed analysis of above-stated sources it is possible to state, that Karel Vaclav Rais was really realist author, which really wrote thereof, what knew privately and very well. 8

»Zapadlí vlastenci« by Karl Václav Rais
Morfologicky má autor blízko k Aloisi Jiráskovi a Juliu Zeyerovi.Zapadlí vlastenci (1894) by K. V. Rais begins with temporal incipit, which frames the plot of the novel. The protagonists have birds’ nomina propria. The motif that goes through the whole work is a revelatory motif of a illegitimate child. Other aspects of the composition are diary-like and epistolar elements, as well as the anticipant’s character and significant chapter (13.). The prose work has a character of architectonic triad. From the morphological point of view, the author is close to Alois Jirásek and Julius Zeyer
