Res. 8 with Walter, saying that the Resolution "certainly can\u27t do any harm and it means a lot to me and I will appreciate it personally if you will get it passed in the House." Kefauver suggests calling it the "Walter-Kefauver Resolution" and has included a handwritten note at the bottom of the page, "Please give me a lift Tad." In addition to serving in the Senate, Kefauver also wrote books on the topics of crime in America and the power of monopolies. Kefauver is best remembered for his service on the "Kefauver Committee" to investigate organized crime. Walter served in World War II and as a Representative from Pennsylvania in the seventy-third and fifteen succeeding Congresses, serving from 1933 until his death May 31, 1963. Walter also acted as chairman of the Committee on Un-American Activities
