Tim conducted the research described in this article while a PhD student in Julien Bertrand's lab at the Department of Pathology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is now a postdoc in the lab of Holger Gerhardt at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association, Berlin, Germany, investigating developmental biology – previously his focus was on how blood stem cells develop and now it has shifted to how the vascular system develops
English Advice Manuals Online at Rutgers: A Partnership in a New Course Using Digital Books and Web Technology
No full textThe authors’ experiences in launching a new course at Rutgers University is described. The new honors course resulted from a collaboration between the History Department and Rutgers University Libraries (RUL) in which academic instruction, a unique source of digital books, and web/internet technology were brought together to provide a new learning experience for undergraduates. Students used the Early English Books Online (EEBO) collection at RUL and were challenged to learn as much as possible in a single semester about some facet of early English advice manuals. The course objectives, technology platform, and student experiences are discussed.This is the authors' accepted version. Lust auf Erkenntnis - Polyloge und „Reverenzen“
No full textDer Beitrag gibt in Teil I eine Übersicht über Entwicklungen der Integrativen Therapie, wichtige metatheoretische und theoretische Positionen und Konzepte wie Metahermeneutik, Polylog, Transversalität und über Quellen und Referenzautoren und ihre Disziplinen, die für den Autor als Begründer der Integrativen Therapie persönlich wichtig geworden sind und die für die Integrative Therapie Bedeutung haben oder zumindest doch als Einflüsse auf das Denken ihres Begründers offen gelegt werden sollen. Die Bedeutung des Konzeptes der „Intellektuellen Biographie“ für therapeutische Arbeit und „Arbeit an sich selbst“ wird aufgezeigt, um die LeserInnen und PraktikerInnen des Integrativen Ansatzes anzuregen, selbst-bewusst in eine „transversale Hermeneutik“ zur Auslotung der Entwicklung des eigenen Denkens und der persönlichen „Welt-Anschauungen“ und ihrer Hintergründe einzutreten. In Teil II werden Kurzportraits zu Biographien und Werken der wichtigsten ReferenzautorInnen des Integrativen Ansatzes vorgestellt, sowie Einflusslinien zum Integrativen Verfahren aufgezeigt. Teil III umfasst einige wichtige Nachrufe.This article offers in part I an overview over developments in Integrative Therapy, core positions of its metatheory and theory e.g. metahermeneutics, polylogue, transversality, moreover of sources and reference thinkers with their diciplines that became important to the author as originator of „Integrative Therapy“ and that might be also important to the „Integrative Approach“ as such. Therefore these influences are put into the open sphere.The importance of the concept of the “intellectual biography” for therapy and work with oneself is emphasized, to encourage the reader and the practitioners of the Integrative Approach to become engaged in processes of transversal hermeneutics in order to explore self confident one’s own style of thinking and personal “Welt-Anschauungen” and their background. In Part II concise biographical portraits of important authors of reference and their ideas as well as their influences on Integrative Therapy are presented. „Vernetzendes Denken“ – Die Bedeutung der Philosophie des Differenz- und Integrationsdenkens für die Integrative Therapie
No full textIn einem Nachruf werden kompakt Leben und Werk dieses bedeutenden französischen Philosophen unter der Perspektive seiner Bedeutung für das Feld der Psychotherapie dargestellt und insbesondere für die Integrative Therapie. Seine Traditionen– die deutsche, französische, angelsächsische Philosophie – vernetzendes Werk, sein Disziplinen verbindendes Philosophieren, das Sozial- Geistes-, Kultur- und Naturwissenschaften in den Dialog bringt, hat eine moderne Hermeneutik inauguriert, eine „Metahermeneutik“ (Petzold) vorbereitet, die therapierelevante Themen einer „klinischen Philosophie“ wie Wille, Bewusstsein, Gerechtigkeit, Schuld, Sinn durchdringt und anthropologische, ethische und epistemologische Grundsatzfragen in integrativer Weise entfaltet. – Ricœur ist ein aussergewöhnlich profilierter Autor, der nicht nur durch seine grundlegende Freud-Monographie und als Begründer der Tiefenhermeneutik oder als wichtiger Referenzphilosoph der Integrativen Therapie für die Psychotherapie einen eminenten Rang hat, sondern auch durch seine engagierten Arbeiten zu Grundproblemen der Humanität in unserer Zeit einer transversalen Moderne.In this obituary a concise overview over life and works of the eminent French philosopher is given focussing his importance for the field of psychotherapy, particularly for Integrative Therapy. His writings are interconnecting the German, Anglo-Saxon und French philosophical traditions, his philosophizing is linking disciplines, social, cultural and natural sciences and has inaugurated a modern form of hermeneutics, preparing the view of “metahermeneutics” (Petzold). His work has elaborated on topics central to a “clinical philosophy” as will, consciousness, guilt, justice, meaning and has enfolded fundamental issues in ethics, anthropology, epistemology in an integrative way. Influences of a school dog on students, taking into account the 14 + 3 healing and effective factors of integrative therapy according to Petzold, Orth, Sieper
No full textDiese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Einsatz eines Schulhundes im Unterricht und dessen Auswirkungen auf Schülerinnen und Schüler. Im Fokus steht hierbei die Mensch-Hund-Beziehung und der Einfluss auf das Klassenklima, das Verhalten der Schülerinnen und Schüler sowie deren Lernfortschritt. Zunächst werden nach einer kurzen Einführung in das „integrative Verfahren“ nach Petzold, Orth und Sieper, die Rahmenbedingen für den Einsatz sowie die Wirkweisen eines Schulhundes erläutert. Auf Grundlage der verschiedenen Formen des Einsatzes eines Schulhundes wird eine Unterrichtseinheit geplant. Am Beispiel einer Unterrichtssequenz mit dem Schulhund „Wilhelm“ wird aufgezeigt, wie der Unterricht aufgebaut werden kann. Auf Grundlage der „14 + 3 Heil- und Wirkfaktoren“ wird der Einfluss von Wilhelm im Unterricht mit Hilfe einer Umfrage der Schülerinnen und Schüler analysiert.This work deals with the use of a school dog in class and its effects on students. The focus here is on the human-dog relationship and the influence on the classroom climate, the behavior of the students and their learning progress. First, after a short introduction to the “integrative process” according to Petzold, Orth and Sieper, the general conditions for use and the effects of a school dog are explained. A teaching unit is planned based on the different forms of use of a school dog. The example of a teaching sequence with the school dog “Wilhelm” shows how lessons can be structured. Er stellt in kompakter Form zentrale Kernkonzepte der „Integrativen Humantherapie“ von der Metatheorie bis zur Praxeologie, in Form von Definitionen und Zusammenfassungen vor. Integrative Therapie und Agogik ist ein biopsychosozialökologischer Ansatz integrativer und differentieller Behandlung des ganzen Menschen als Subjekt in Kontext und Kontinuum auf der körperlichen, seelischen, sozialen, geistigen und ökologischen Ebene, mit einem breiten Instrumentarium von Behandlungstechniken. Dies ist eine Materialsammlung, collagiert aus zahlreichen Texten des Autors und will dazu beitragen, sich schnell über zentrale „Positionen“ des Integrativen Ansatzes zu informieren. Darüber hinaus wird das integrative Konzept „klinischer Wissenschaft“ und Materialien zur Integrativen Sicht von Sprache für Therapiekontexte vorgestellt.This article is an actualized and enlarged version of the basic text from Petzold 2002b, which is once in a while updated. It presents in the concise form of definitions basic models and core concepts of „Integrative Therapy“ from metatheory to praxeology. It is a biopsychosocioecological approach of integrative and differential treatment of the human subject as a whole in context and continuum on the bodyly, psychological, mental, social and ecological plane. It is a gathering of material made up from the many publications by the author and trying to contribute to an easier access to central “positions” of the Integrative Approach. Puppenspiel als Therapie und Kulturarbeit – der Mensch als multisensorisches Wesen
No full textIn einem annotierten Interview werden grundsätzliche Fragen zur Theorie und Praxeologie des Puppen- bzw. Figurenspiels in seiner Form der Therapie und Kulturarbeit aufgeworfen. Der Mensch wird als multisensorisches und multiexpressives Wesen gesehen, das durch Arbeit mit Puppen in besonderer Weise angesprochen und zu Aktivitäten des Spiels und Zusammenspiel stimuliert wird – das gilt transkulturell und macht die Arbeit mit Puppen auch breit einsetzbar mit Kinder, Erwachsenen, alten Menschen und kurativ bei vielfältigen Störungen, aber auch in einer elebnisaktivierenden Kulturarbeit. Diese hat Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft in den Blick zu nehmen, auch die Vergangenheit des Puppenspiels im Nazi-Deutschland oder die ökologischen Fragen unserer Zukunft. Puppen sind ein ideales Medium und Puppenspiel ist ein hervorragender Ansatz, solche komplexen Themen inter- und transkulturell zu bearbeiten.In an annotated interview basic issues concerning theory and praxeology of puppetry in its approaches to therapy and cultural activity are raised. The human being is seen in its multisensoric and multiexpressive quality, which can be particularly addressed and stimulated by puppetry that makes people to become involved in playful joint activities. This becomes into bearing even transculturally and allows puppetry to be applied in a broad scope of areas: with children, adults, old people being curative for a manifold of disorders. But it is also effective in experience activating cultural projects which are focussing past, present and future, e.g. puppetry itself in the times of Nazi-Germany or the ecological problems that we are going to face in the future.
