No full textLo straordinario successo del Sacro (1917), che ha reso celebre Rudolf Otto, ha provocato, per contraccolpo, la diffusione di una figura stilizzata dell’autore, impoverita dall’oblio toccato al resto della sua produzione e da letture parziali e semplificative. Una ricostruzione genetica del modo in cui Otto impone la nozione di «heilig» nel lessico tedesco specializzato, muovendo da Lutero e opponendo al neokantismo una lettura friesiana del trascendentale, fa emergere la qualità filosofica di una teoria del religioso che rivela convergenze insospettate con la fenomenologia husserliana. The extraordinary success of The Holy (1917) made Rudolf Otto famous, but it also contributed to propagate a simplified figure of the author. The rest of his work was condemned to oblivion, which caused misleading interpretations of The Holy itself. A genetic reconstruction of the way in which Otto established the term «heilig» in the technical German proves to be fruitful. When considering his interpretation of Luther and his Fries-based opposition to a neoKantian approach to the concept of «transcendental», the philosophical relevance of Otto’s theory of religion can be fully recognized, as well as unsuspected links to Husserlian phenomenology
Suitability of vaccinia virus and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) for determining activities of three commonly-used alcohol-based hand rubs against enveloped viruses
No full textBackground A procedure for including activity against enveloped viruses in the post-contamination treatment of hands has been recommended, but so far no European standard is available to implement it. In 2004, the German Robert Koch-Institute (RKI) and the German Association for the Control of Virus Disease (DVV) suggested that vaccinia virus and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) should be used as test viruses in a quantitative suspension test to determine the activity of a disinfectant against all enveloped viruses. Methods We have studied the activities of three commonly-used alcohol-based hand rubs (hand rub A, based on 45% propan-2-ol, 30% propan-1-ol and 0.2% mecetronium etilsulfate; hand rub B, based on 80% ethanol; hand rub C, based on 95% ethanol) against vaccinia virus and BVDV, and in addition against four other clinically relevant enveloped viruses: herpes simplex virus (HSV) types 1 and 2, and human and avian influenza A virus. The hand rubs were challenged with different organic loads at exposure time of 15, 30 and 60 s. According to the guidelines of both BGA/RKI and DVV, and EN 14476:2005, the reduction of infectivity of each test virus was measured on appropriate cell lines using a quantitative suspension test. Results All three alcohol-based hand rubs reduced the infectivity of vaccinia virus and BVDV by >= 4 log10-steps within 15 s, irrespective of the type of organic load. Similar reductions of infectivity were seen against the other four enveloped viruses within 15 s in the presence of different types of organic load. Conclusions Commonly used alcohol-based hand rubs with a total alcohol concentration >= 75% can be assumed to be active against clinically relevant enveloped viruses if they effectively reduce the infectivities of vaccinia virus and BVDV in a quantitative suspension test

Za základní srovnávací kritéria lze považovat podíl na trhu, skladbu vozového parku, výnosy. Ve druhé části práce jsem navrhl své vlastní návrhy na možné zlepšení současné praxe v oboru. V závěrečné kapitole jsem své návrhy zhodnotil.This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of outsourcing in a forwarding company. The first part describes recent practices in forwarding business and outsourcing. In the second part the author presents the design for optional improvement of recent methods in given field. Representing National Histories in Popular Illustrated Literature for Youth: Illustrations by Arthur Kampf and Georg Belwe to «Preußens Geschichte» («Prussian History», 1913) by Rudolf Herzog as a Case in Point
No full textThis study looks at illustrated popular literature as a tool for shaping its readers–viewers’ perceptions of national histories. The author explores this issue through the example of Rudolf Herzog’s book for German school students «History of Prussia» ("Preußens Geschichte'', 1913) illustrated by Arthur Kampf and Georg Belwe. Despite the book’s popularity in the 1910s, this paper offers its first academic examination. The study combines terminology and methods coming from the fields of history of representations, political mythologies’ and visual cultures studies as well as art history. The author also adheres to methodological recommendations formulated by researchers in illustrated literature.
The paper demonstrates that «Preussens Geschichte» exemplifies personality- and event-centred «official-nationalist» approach to history writing. The book’s contents reflect the current political situation and seek to promote the imperial government’s agendas as well as certain moral values. The author argues that the specific purpose of Kampf and Belwe’s illustrations consisted in stressing and simplifying the book’s key subject matter and facilitating its memorisation. The ballads performed the same function. The author maintains that the stylistic unity and repetition of similar subject-matter in Belwe and Kampf’s work contribute to the book’s overall representation of Prussia’s history as a coherent narrative.
Belwe’s pictures encapsulate the book’s main ideas through the use of generalised images rather than directly translating Herzog’s prose and poetry into pictures. Kampf’s illustrations further stress the role of monarchy and army as the key actors of Prussian history through the artist’s selection of subject-matter and employment of artistic devices. Together with Herzog’s text, his pictures promote determination, courage, and self-sacrifice for the sake of the country. Two other themes that dominate Kampf’s illustrations are the bond between the monarchy, the nation, and the church (an element of The Second Reich’s official nationalism) as well as Prussia’s technological advancement as an epitome of its political power
