RIP3 Marker Expression for Necroptosis in Cases of Prostate Cancer // Експресия на маркер за некроптоза RIP3 в случаи на простатен карцином
RIP3.The aim of this study is to assess the expression of the necroptotic marker RIP3 in prostate cancer tumour tissue in relation to clinical and pathological parameters and to define it's prognostic and predictive value for patients' survival rates. For this purpose the incidence and mortality rates on global, European and national scales are analysed for the period up to 2018; clinical and morphological characteristics of the patients with prostate cancer are studied and analysed; analysis of the overall survival rates of the patients with prostate cancer is made in relation to the clinical and pathological parameters; RIP3 expression in tumour and non-tumour tissues is analysed in relation to clinical and pathological characteristics and the patients' survival rates; the prognostic value of the expression of the necroptotic marker RIP3 for low survival rate is studied and a profile of the patients with high risk for death is made.
The results of this study show that the RIP3 expression could not be used as a stand-alone prognostic marker in prostate cancer cases, but should be an additional parameter to the methods that already exist. Best results in prognosis of the survival rates of the prostate cancer patients were obtained in combination of Gleason score with RIP3 expression
The role of RIP3 in prostate cancer
The process of necroptosis and its role in tumors with different locations have been studied in detail in the last few years. However, not much is known about its significance for prostate cancer, perhaps because necrosis is a rare morphological phenomenon in the prostate. In this study, we quantify the expression of the necroptosis marker RIP3 in tumor and non-tumor glands in cases of prostate cancer and analyze its correlation to some morphological parameters and patients' survival rate
Correlation analysis of prostate cancer incidence and mortality worldwide, in Europe and in Bulgaria
An in-depth overview of the prostate cancer incidence and mortality rates, based on the geographical location, race and ethnicity on global, European and national scales, shows ambiguous, incompatible and sometimes unreliable data. The aim of this study is to analyze the incidence and mortality rates worldwide, in Europe and in Bulgaria. Data from global databases (Globocan) and the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria are used. The global incidence and mortality rates of prostate cancer correlate with age. The median age at the time of the diagnosis is 66 years. International trends in prostate cancer incidence and mortality have varied significantly in recent years, closely related to the PSA screening used for early detection of the disease, mostly in the Western countries. Data sources show a discrepancy in the incidence and mortality rates in men of different races and geographical origins. This confirms the role of genetic factors in the pathogenesis of prostate cancer. Discrepancies between men of the same race and ethnicity, living in different countries, suggests that other factors such as diet and socioeconomic status, different methods of diagnosis and treatment are also important. The highest incidence rate is expected in the developed countries and the highest mortality rate in the developing countries
Érzelmek és vágyak az érett szocializmus idején : Kalin Janakiev bolgár költő és női rajongói
The development of the idea of ‘sentimental education’ and the concept of ‘socialist versatile personality’ in the end of the 1960s and in the beginning of the 1970s in Bulgaria triggered a kind of expressivist turn in the local ideological discourse of mature socialism. The latter was embodied in the vast institutional network of ‘the culture of consumption’ of the citizenship – literary workshops and clubs associated with schools, youth and women’s newspapers and magazines, fantasy-reading clubs, etc. Designed as a facade for the socialist way of life under the control of party cultural managers, this network was uncontrollably inhabited and used by individuals for self-discovery and projections of multiple desires and feelings. The proposed paper discusses at length the case of the female admirers of the young Bulgarian Poet Kalin Yanakiev, who were part of the above-described network and who experienced the expressivist turn in an unpredictable and original manner. I analyse 90 letters, addressed to Kalyn Yanakiev, a promising author of the Rodna rech (Native Speech, a young literary journal), written in 1973–74 by girls aged 16 to 18 from different Bulgarian towns and villages. A series of letters is brought under special focus, where girls revealed their feelings to Yanakiev, providing access to a complex intimate world, where interiorized versions of the socialist moral and aesthetic virtues overlap with and merge into individual original discoveries of erotic and sexual desires

Author highlights the importance of the regulation of credit law, including the regulation of bank lending, drawing on the experience of countries that have incorporated such legal structures into national legislation, doctrinal findings and challenges and expectations of modern economic processes
Surveillance over cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: a single-center experience
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is widespread and usually asymptomatic in immunocompetent individuals. However, during immune suppression, especially after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), viral reactivation may result in symptomatic infection and end-organ disease. Because there is high incidence of CMV seropositivity in Bulgaria, CMV infection/reactivation is an expected common complication in HSCT recipients which requires frequent monitoring. CMV reactivation monitoring via qRT PCR has a significant role in terms of the moment of initiating pre-emptive therapy in these high-risk patients in order to avoid the development of CMV disease and better clinical management. The aim of this study was to determine and analyze the incidence of CMV reactivation in HSCT recipients in a new transplant center in Bulgaria. The incidence of early CMV reactivation after HSCT in our center is very high (76.7%) most likely related to the high-risk donor/recipient (D/R) profile of our recipients. The mean period from HSCT to the first positive PCR result was quite short, 21.5 days on average. The highest-risk group donor-/recipient+ (D-/R+) experienced the longest and the highest levels of viremia, as well as the highest number of reactivations. The nature of the D/R status most significantly affected the degree of viral load. Our data demonstrate the essential role of monitoring of CMV with reliable and sensitive laboratory methods, such as qRT-PCR to avoid development of CMV disease in high-risk patients
Towards Data Resilience for Fully Distributed Self-Sovereign Identity Managers
Self-Sovereign Identities provide a solution to the identity crisis as their goal is bringing back control over identities to their owners. Nonetheless, currently deployed SSI managers lack data resilience. Consequently, one's identity is lost if the device holding it becomes inaccessible. We achieve data resilience through identity backups. Unfortunately, there is no research on the matter. Thus, we discover that traditional backup systems need eight additional requirements to become suitable for identity backups. Then we describe two existing solutions and introduce a novel one designed by us. A comparison between them follows, from which we conclude that our novel solution satisfies the most requirements. We then extend an existing SSI manager with a proof-of-concept implementation of our solution. Our implementation consists of three main components. The first one takes care of identity recovery. The second one allows verifiers to check whether identities and their backups are consistent before verifying their attested claims. And the last mechanism takes care of access revocation.CSE3000 Research ProjectTowards a Digital Foundational IdentityComputer Science and Engineerin
Analiza prevodov novinarskih besedil v licenčnih revijah
This undergraduate thesis attempts to illuminate how the articles in licenced magazines are translated. The focus is on the texts which were published in the Slovenian edition of the Reader\u27s Digest magazine. The analysis focuses on problems with lexis and the main difficulties that the translators have to deal with. The author presupposes that these are neologisms and analyzes how they are translated in the texts. Other translational difficulties are categorized according to Mona Baker\u27s theory. The author examines which strategies are used when translating these "difficult" words and phrases. Thesis also seeks out possible influences of the English language in the Slovenian translations. Translators often avoid translating neologisms, which are thus omitted in translations. However, some neologisms are recreated in the Slovenian language and are directly influenced by the English word formation. This analysis also revealed some mistakes, misinterpretations and poor translations, which occur regardless of the fact whether the translators were experienced professionals or not.Diplomsko delo skuša razsvetliti nekaj vprašanj o tem, kakšni so prevodi medijskih besedil v licenčnih revijah.
