DISTRIBUTION IN TURKEY. — Ankara, Bitlis, Bursa, Isparta, Kars, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kırklareli, Nevşehir, Sakarya, Sivas, Tekirdağ, Trabzon. REMARKS Seifert (1992) separated the largely distributed L. alienus into the five Westpalaearctic species L. alienus, L. paralienus Seifert, 1992, L. piliferus Seifert, 1992, L. psammophilus Seifert, 1992 and Lasius obscuratus Stitz, 1930. Additionally, Seifert & Galkowski (2016) recently divided L. paralienus into complex of tree species L. paralienus, L. casevitzi Seifert & Galkowski, 2016 and L. bombycina. They indicated that the only known sympatric occurrence of L. paralienus is in NW Balkans and Bulgaria. Therefore, we suggest here to remove L. paralienus from Turkish ant fauna considering its European distribution from France to Bulgaria. All previously determined L. paralienus materials should refer to L. bombycina.Published as part of Kiran, Kadri & Karaman, Celal, 2020, Additions to the Ant Fauna of Turkey (Hymenoptera, Formicidae), pp. 285-329 in Zoosystema 42 (18) on page 297, DOI: 10.5252/zoosystema2020v42a18, http://zenodo.org/record/392226
T Lymphocytes and Their Potential Role in Dementia with Lewy Bodies
Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is the second most common neurodegenerative cause of dementia. People with DLB have an inferior prognosis compared to Alzheimer’s disease (AD), but the diseases overlap in their neuropathology and clinical syndrome. It is imperative that we enhance our understanding of the aetiology and pathogenesis of DLB. The impact of peripheral inflammation on the brain in dementia has been increasingly explored in recent years, with T lymphocyte recruitment into brain parenchyma identified in AD and Parkinson’s disease. There is now a growing range of literature emerging on the potential role of innate and adaptive immune cells in DLB, including T lymphocytes. In this review, we examine the profile of T lymphocytes in DLB, focusing on studies of post-mortem brain tissue, cerebrospinal fluid, and the blood compartment. We present an integrated viewpoint on the results of these studies by proposing how changes to the T lymphocyte profile in the brain and periphery may relate to each other. Improving our understanding of T lymphocytes in DLB has the potential to guide the development of disease-modifying treatments

REMARKS Temnothorax nylanderi (Förster, 1850) was the only species of the T. nylanderi complex known from Turkey until Radchenko (2000) raised T. crassispinus (Karavajev, 1926) to species rank and limited the distribution of T. nylanderi to Central and West Europe. In addition, Csősz et al. (2015) recently described a new species, T. crasecundus, from Balkans and Asia Minor. Therefore, we decided to exclude T. nylanderi and T. crassispinus from Turkish ant fauna. All specimens previously determined as T. nylanderi and T. crassispinus from Turkey refer to T. crasecundus.Published as part of Kiran, Kadri & Karaman, Celal, 2020, Additions to the Ant Fauna of Turkey (Hymenoptera, Formicidae), pp. 285-329 in Zoosystema 42 (18) on page 315, DOI: 10.5252/zoosystema2020v42a18, http://zenodo.org/record/392226

REMARKS In recent paper on Albanian ants Wagner et al. REMARKS After redescription and lectotype designation of T. semilaeve André, 1883 recent studies showed that distribution of this species is restricted to the Western Mediterranean area (Borowiec et al. 2015). Borowiec et al. (2015) also confirmed that T. galaticum is a distinct species from the T. semilaeve, and suggested that probably most of T. semilaeve records from North-eastern part of Mediterranean basin refer to T. galaticum or other species of the T. semilaeve complex.Published as part of Kiran, Kadri & Karaman, Celal, 2020, Additions to the Ant Fauna of Turkey (Hymenoptera, Formicidae), pp. 285-329 in Zoosystema 42 (18) on pages 319-320, DOI: 10.5252/zoosystema2020v42a18, http://zenodo.org/record/392226
