Measuring the effect of radiation during the air temperature measurements in a climatic chamber
Točne meritve temperature zraka so nekaj, kar v sedanjosti jemljemo za samoumevno, kljub temu pa k rezultatom prispeva mnogo dejavnikov. V diplomski nalogi smo preučevali vpliv toplotnega sevanja na meritve temperature zraka v klimatski komori, ki se lahko v teoriji močno spreminja glede na absolutno temperaturo ozračja, dimenzije in lastnosti površin temperaturnega senzorja, ter njihova prostorski položaj v klimatski komori. To smo storili tako, da smo uporabili sistem v principu enakih temperaturnih senzorjev, ki so obdani z valjem različnih dimenzij, ter prebarvani s premazom visoke oziroma nizke emisivnosti. Meritve so bile izvedene v različnih položajih senzorjev in v različnih klimatskih komorah, kjer smo opazovali razlike v izmerjenih temperaturah na različnih senzorjih v povezavi z njihovimi lastnostmi in lastnostmi preskusa.
Diplomska naloga je sestavljena iz treh glavnih delov. Prvi zajema uvodno teorijo, opis prejšnjih raziskav ter pričakovanja meritev. Drugi del zajema opis uporabljene opreme in postopkov preskušanja. Tretji del sestavljajo prikaz rezultatov meritev, primerjave, njihova razlaga, komentarji in zaključne misli.Accurate air temperature measurements are something we take for granted these days, yet many factors can actively contribute to the measurements error. In the diploma thesis, we studied the influence of thermal radiation on air temperature measurements in the environmental test chamber, which in theory can vary greatly depending on the absolute temperature of the atmosphere, the dimensions, and properties of the surface of the temperature sensor, and their spatial position in the chamber. We did this by using a system of identical temperature sensors, surrounded by cylinders of different diameters, and painted with a coating of high or low emissivity. Measurements were carried out with the sensors in different positions in the chamber and in different chambers, where we observed the differences in the measured temperatures on the different sensors in connection with their properties and the conditions of the test.
The thesis consists of three main parts. The first covers the introductory theory, description of previous research and expectations of measurements. The second part covers the description of the equipment used and the testing procedures. The third part consists of a presentation of the measurements results, comparisons, their interpretation, as well as comments and the final thoughts
Design of the measurement system for determination of the acoustic characteristics of fans
Diplomsko delo obsega načrtovanje in izdelavo merilnega sistema za merjenje akustičnih lastnosti elektronsko komutiranih in asinhronskih ventilatorjev v podjetju Hidria Rotomatika d.o.o..
Obstoječi merilni sistem za merjenje akustičnih lastnosti ventilatorjev v podjetju je bil za podrobnejšo analizo akustičnih lastnosti elektronsko komutiranih ventilatorjev neustrezen, zato je bilo potrebno izdelati nov merilni sistem, ki bi poleg modularne zasnove omogočal samostojno izvedbo meritve, brez prisotnosti operaterja.
Poleg uporabljene strojne opreme, se je s pomočjo programskega okolja Labview izdelal merilni program, ki samostojno upravlja s strojno opremo merilnega sistema in izmeri akustične lastnosti ventilatorja ter po končani meritvi izdela merilno poročilo, ki je dostopno naročniku meritve. Med meritvijo merilni sistem upravlja z merjencem kar omogoči avtonomnost merilne procedure.
Pravilno delovanje merilnega sistem se je preizkusilo na elektronsko komutiranem ventilatorju HEC R10R-50LPS, izmerjeni podatki pa so služili kot potrditev pravilnega delovanja sistema. Krajša analiza na izmerjenih podatkih je potrdila pravilno delovanje in ustreznost merilnega sistema za merjenje akustičnih lastnosti elektronsko komutiranih in asinhronskih ventilatorjev.The thesis includes design and making of measuring system for measuring the acoustic properties of induction and electronically commutated fans in company Hidria Rotomatika d.o.o..
The existing measuring system for measuring acoustic characteristics of fans, was inadequate for more detailed analysis of acoustic properties of electronically commutated fans, so it was necessary to design new measuring system. In addition to modular design the new system should be able to control the device under test and autonomous execution of measuring procedure, without the presence of the operator.
In addition to the hardware used, new measuring program was build using Labview programming environment. The new measuring program uses hardware resources to measure the acoustic properties of device under test and produces a measurement report at the end of the measurement procedure, the report is immediately available for analysis.
Functionality of the measuring system was tested using HEC R10R-50LPS fan, short analysis of measured data was later used to confirm proper system operation
Test system for measuring characteristics of vacuum seals
V diplomskem delu je predstavljena testna proga za merjenje vakuumskih karakteristik tesnil, ki jo uporabljajo v podjetju Donit Tesnit v Medvodah. Namen diplomskega dela je bil izdelava testne proge s pripadajočo programsko opremo. S pomočjo te naprave bodo v laboratoriju lahko merili in analizirali rezultate vpliva vakuuma na prirobnične spoje ter lastnosti in obnašanja materialov v spoju.
V prvem poglavju naloge je predstavljena tesnost kot lastnost tesnil. Opisan je tudi vpliv nadtlaka in podtlaka v sistemu na tesnost tesnilnega spoja.
V drugem poglavju je opisana v testni progi uporabljena vakuumska tehnologija.
Tretje poglavje govori o zahtevah, ki so bile podane za testno progo. Nato je opisana in predstavljena naprava VMS ter njeno osnovno delovanje.
V četrtem in petem poglavju je predstavljena izdelava testne proge. Opisane so tudi komponente, ki smo jih uporabili za izdelavo testne proge in njenega krmilja ter komunikacijo s PC.
V šestem poglavju je predstavljeno programsko okolje LabVIEW. Opisanih je tudi več možnosti konfiguracij uporabljene opreme za komunikacijo s testno progo.
Sedmo poglavje govori o namenski programski opremi za testno progo, v osmem poglavju pa je predstavljeno testiranje naprave po končanem programiranju. Opisane so tudi težave, s katerimi smo se pri testiranju srečali in jih odpravili.The diploma work presents test track for measuring the characteristics of vacuum seals used by Donit Tesnit from Medvode. The purpose of the work was to design and construct a test system and associated software. With this device they can measure and analyze the results of affect the vacuum at the flange joints and the properties and behavior of materials at the joint.
The first chapter of the diploma work presents the tightness of seals as a feature. It describes the effect of excess pressure and vacuum in the system to the tightness of the sealing joint.
The second section describes used vacuum technology.
The third chapter talks about requirements that were specified for the test track. It describes and presents VMS and its basic operation.
The fourth and fifth chapter presents the production of test tracks. Also describes components that have been used for the manufacture of the test line and its control and communications with the PC.
The sixth chapter presents the LabVIEW programming environment. Also describes several possibilities for the configuration of equipment used for communicating with a VMS.
The seventh chapter speaks about dedicated software for a test track. In The eighth chapter is describing testing VMS at the end of the programing? It also talks about problems that we encountered in testing and elimination of them
The development of the procedure for the preparation of gaming machines for use in the casino
Diplomsko delo opredeljuje razvoj postopka od nabave do prve igre na srečo na igralnem avtomatu v igralnici HIT d. d. vključno z vrnitvijo proizvajalcu oz. izločanjem na skladišče in kasnejšo razgradnjo.
Pred prikazom postopka je kratek zgodovinski pregled razvoja igralnega avtomata od prvega poker igralnega avtomata do sodobnih igralnih avtomatov. Za zgodovinskim pregledom je predstavljen sam igralni avtomat z njegovimi lastnostmi in posameznimi deli. Pred postopkom je še opisan pomen nadzornega informacijskega sistema.
V samem postopku so nato opredeljeni procesi in naloge pri namestitvi novega igralnega avtomata v igralnico na način, da so vsi koraki opravljeni varno, učinkovito, dokumentirano in skladno z zakonodajo ter tako uporabni za vse družbe, ki se ukvarjajo s to dejavnostjo v Sloveniji. Cilj postopka je hitra implementacija igralnih avtomatov v igralnice, kar ob celoviti ponudbi pomeni konkurenčno prednost pred tujimi in domačimi operaterji.
Začetek postopka je pri nabavi igralnega avtomata, ki ji sledi vhodna kontrola. Če gre za povsem nov produkt, je potrebno še predhodno testiranje. Po postavitvi igralnega avtomata v igralnico ter vgraditvi komunikacijske opreme na igralni avtomat nastavimo zahtevane nastavitve. Sledi konfiguracija nadzornega informacijskega sistema in interni nadzor igralnega avtomata. Pred prvo uporabo igralnega avtomata pooblaščena institucija izvede kontrolo. Po uspešno izvedeni kontroli pripravimo vlogo za izdajo dovoljenja za uporabo igralnega avtomata. Izdano uporabno dovoljenje pomeni odobritev vklopa igralnega avtomata in s tem dejanjem je igralni avtomat pripravljen na uporabo gostom željnih tovrstne zabave. Med uporabo igralnega avtomata v igralnici se vseskozi sledi dogajanju na samem avtomatu, po potrebi se ga nadgrajuje in popravlja ter po določeni življenjski dobi ustrezno izloči iz uporabe.The thesis defines the development process from the purchase of the first gaming on the gaming machine in the casino HIT d. d. including the returning to the manufacturer or separation of the storage and subsequent decommissioning.
Before the presentation of the development process there is a brief historical overview of the development of the gaming machine from the first poker to modern gaming machines. After the historical point of view we presented the gaming machine through its features and parts. Before the procedure the importance of supervisory information system is described.
The process itself is then defined with processes and tasks of installing a new gaming machine in a casino in a way that all the steps are made safe, effective, documented and in accordance with the law, and thus applicable to all companies engaged in this activity in Slovenia. The aim of the procedure is the rapid implementation of gaming machines in casinos, which means the competitive advantage over foreign and domestic operators.
The procedure was initiated in the purchase of the gaming machine, followed by the input control. If it is a completely new product, the prior testing is needed. After the placement of the gaming machine in a casino and installation of communications equipment, the gaming machine is set up. Then we do the configuration of the gaming management system and internal control of gaming machine. Before the first use of gaming machine an authorized institution carries out the control. After successful control we prepare an application for authorization for the use of a gaming machine. An operating permission means that we can switch on the gaming machine and that it is ready for guests to use it. While using the gaming machine in a casino, we always follow the events on the machine itself, if necessary we upgrade and repair it, and after a certain lifetime, we must properly remove it from the use
Optimization of a Selection of a Thermal Fuse Based on a Temperature Measurement
Cilj diplomskega dela je optimizacija izbire termične varovalke z avtomatičnim ponovnim vklopom na pogonu kuhinjskega aparata. Obstoječa termična varovalka se nahaja na elektroniki in je ločena od izvora toplote (statorsko navitje). Izboljšava je namestitev termične varovalke na izvor toplote, to je na površino statorskega navitja oziroma na tuljavnik, neposredno nad navitjem statorja. Naloga zahteva posnetek obstoječega stanja ter izmeritev referenčne temperaturne krivulje, ki bodo osnova za izbiro ustrezne termične varovalke. Na podlagi vzorcev termičnih varovalk z avtomatičnim ponovnim vklopom proizvajalca Sensata in meritev smo se odločili za termično varovalko, ki ščiti motor, komponente in celoten aparat pred toplotnimi poškodbami v primeru nenormalne uporabe.The goal of the thesis is optimization of choice thermal cut off on the kitchen appliance drive. Existing thermal cut off is located on electronics and it\u27s separated from the source of heat (stator winding). The improvement is the installation of thermal cut off on the heat source, that is on the surface of coil holder or inductor directly above the stator winding. The task requires a recording of the current state and measurments of reference temperature curves, which become a basis for choosing the optimal thermal cut off. Based on samples of Sensata manufacturer and our measurements , we decided for a thermal cut off that protects the appliance, its components and the complete device from thermal damage in a case of abnormal usage

Povzetek
V diplomski nalogi smo opravljali prostorske in časovne meritve homogenosti temperature v kriostatu K22. Cilj naloge je ugotoviti homogenost temperature v njem in ugotoviti, kateri dejavniki oziroma v kolikšni meri ti vplivajo na same rezultate. Meritve smo opravljali v temperaturnem območju od -190 °C do +2 °C, območje nastavljene temperature pa smo določili naknadno.
Meritve smo opravljali s tremi termometri. Z referenčnim termometrom smo vedno merili maksimalno možno potopitev termometra v kriostatu, druga dva termometera pa smo postopno dvigovali. Prva meritev je bila izvedena, ko sta bila oba termometra potopljena na dno kriostata. Meritve smo v intervalih opravljali, dokler nismo dobili rezultata oziroma meritve, ki je zaradi zunanjih vplivov preveč odstopala od referenčne temperature. Pričakovali smo, da se bodo meritve zaradi vpliva zunanjih dejavnikov (predvsem sobne temperature) precej razlikovale od referenčne temperature. Termometra smo na koncu med seboj zamenjali, saj smo s tem dokazali, da je razlika med njima posledica negotovosti ali pa dejanska razlika med termometroma. Nato smo postopek ponovili na novi temperaturni vrednosti. Zaželjeno je, da bi merjenja opravljali predvsem na najnižji in najvišji možni temperaturi. Zavedamo se, da na meritve vpliva tudi zgradba termometra. Tu so pomembnejšo vlogo predstavljali predvsem material, oblika in premer. Za zajem in shranjevanje podatkov nam je bila v pomoč programska oprema LabVIEW.
Meritve homogenosti temperature smo opravili na najbolj oddaljenih vhodih ter na centralnem referenčnem vhodu. Razlog je predvsem ta, da smo pričakovali, da bomo tako merili v najslabšem možnem položaju in tako izničili možnost, da meritve niso zadovoljive. V vsakem primeru, tudi če meritve opravljamo z večimi termometri, je zaželjeno, da je referenčni termometer postavljen v referenčni vhod.Abstract
In the following thesis, space and time measurements of temperature homogeneity of cryostat K22 is discussed. The goal was to determine the extent of the temperature homogeneity as well as the factors affecting it. Measurements in a temperature range from -190 °C to +2 °C were performed, with specific temperature area determined subsequently.
The measurements were taken with three thermometers. With the reference thermometer maximum immersion at the bottom of cryostat was measured, while the other two thermometers were gradually raised. The first measurement was performed when the two thermometers were immersed to the bottom of the cryostat. The measurements were taken in intervals until we reached the result whereby due to external influences the measurement substantially deviated from the reference temperature. In the final stage, we replaced both thermometers in order to minimize the inconsistencies of both measuring devices. Then we repeated the process at a new temperature value. It was desired that the measurements were performed at the lowest and highest possible temperature. We took into account that the structure of the thermometers also affected the measurements. The most important influence represented the material, their shape and diameter. To capture and store data we used software LabVIEW.
Measurements of temperature homogeneity were performed at the outermost entrances and at the central reference input. The main reason was that we intended to take measurements at the worst possible position and thus prove that the method used was objective
DESIGN OF ONLINE STORE AND QUALITY ANALYSIS OF USER EXPERIENCE
Cilj diplomske naloge je bil izdelati spletno trgovino z odprtokodnimi orodji ter opraviti analizo kakovosti uporabniške izkušnje. Diplomsko naloga je razdeljena na štiri dele. V prvem delu smo raziskali in opisali različne metode izdelave spletnih trgovin. Tukaj smo se predvsem posvetili tehnologijam, ki jih je mogoče uporabiti za izvedbo spletne trgovine. Na osnovi teh raziskovanj smo se odločili za specifičen način izdelave spletne trgovine, ki je opisan v nadaljevanju. V drugem delu smo se posvetili načrtovanju konkretne spletne trgovine. Opisan pa sta tudi izgled in struktura spletne trgovine in njene podstrani. Med načrtovanjem izvedbe spletne trgovine smo pogosto tudi razširili razlago določenih tematik in obrazložili alternativne možnosti izvedbe, predvsem s stališča kakovosti uporaniške izkušnje. Razlago smo še posebej razširili na področju gostovanja in varnosti spletnih trgovin. V tretjem delu smo se posvetili konkretnemu načinu izvedbe spletne trgovine. Podrobneje smo opisali korake pri izdelavi spletne trgovine, ki smo jo izdelali za namen diplomske naloge. Spletna trgovina je dosegljiva na naslovu: www.spletna-trgovina.eu. Natančneje smo opisali, katere konkretne tehnologije smo uporabili ter kako delujejo med seboj. Ravno tako smo podrobno opisali izvedbo domače strani, produktne strani ter strani kategorije. V četrtem, zadnjem delu smo se predvsem posvetili načinom in razlogom za preizkušanje kakovosti programske opreme. Opisali smo aktualne načine analize kakovosti uporabniške izkušnje ter se posvetili optimizaciji hitrosti delovanja spletne trgovine, saj je le ta ključna za visoko raven kakovosti spletne trgovine. Predstavili smo konkretno študijo primera na spletni trgovini, ki smo jo izdelali za namene diplomske naloge. V tej študiji smo analizirali hitrost delovanja spletne trgovine pred in po optimizaciji hitrosti ter podali zaključke. Predstavili smo tudi potencialne načine za še optimalnejšo hitrost delovanja spletne trgovine, ki jih v študiji primera nismo zajeli, vendar bi jih bilo mogoče uporabiti tudi na konkretnem primeru. Natančneje smo obrazložili predvsem tiste načine, ki v večji meri doprinesejo k hitremu delovanju spletne trgovine. Nato pa smo z anketnim vprašalnikom še razširili analizo kakovosti uporabniške izkušnje. Vprašanja v anketi so se nanašala predvsem na konkretno spletno trgovino, izdelano za namen diplomske naloge. Odgovori na anketna vprašanja so nam pomagala do zaključkov, kje na spletni trgovini se še pojavlja možnost izboljšave in nadgradnje spletne trgovine.The goal of diploma thesis aimed to create an online store with open source tools and perform an analysis of the quality of the user experience. The thesis is divided into four parts. In the first part, we researched and described different methods of creating online stores. Here, we focused mainly on software technologies that can be used to manage an online store. Based on this research, we decided on a specific approach to creating an online store, which is described in diploma thesis. In the second part, we focused on planning a concrete online store. We described the look and structure of the online store and its subpages. While designing the implementation of the online store, the explanation of certain topics and described the alternative options for implementation were expanded. The description in the field of hosting and security of online stores is especially extended. In the third part, we focused on the concrete way of implementing an online store. We described in more detail the steps in creating an online store which was created for the purpose of the thesis. The online store is available at: www.spletna-trgovina.eu. It is outlined in more detail which specific technologies are used and how they work together. The implementation of the home page, product page and category page are also explained in detail. The fourth part is mainly concentrated on the methods and reasons for testing the quality of software. We have named the current ways of analyzing the quality of the user experience. Later, we optimized the speed of the online store because this is essential for a high level of online store quality. A concrete case study is presented on an online store which we made for this dissertation. In this study, we analyzed the speed of online store operation before and after speed optimization. The concrete ways of optimizing the speed of the online store, which it is also actually implemented, are described. We also presented potential ways to make the online store even more optimal, which we did not cover in the case study, but could also be used in a specific case. Then, with the survey questionnaire, we have further expanded the analysis of the quality of the user experience. The questions in the survey were mainly related to a specific online store, designed for the diploma thesis. The answers, gathered from the survey questions, helped us find out where in the online store there is still the possibility of improving and upgrading the online store
Collaborative application for determining the quality of radomes
V podjetju Hella Saturnus Slovenija d.o.o. z ročnimi postopki določajo kakovst laka na njihovih produktih. V dokumentu sta opisana postopek merjenja debeline laka s pomočjo spektrometra Transpec Lite in mrežni test, s katerim se preverja adhezija laka na produktih. Cilj naloge je bil predelati ročne procese merjenja kakovosti v avtomatske. Izdelan je bil koncept kolaborativne aplikacije za določanje kakovosti laka na produktih podjetja tj. sprednjih značkah avtomobila, ki jim rečemo radomi. V konceptu je bila uporabljena obstoječa oprema za izvajanje meritev kakovosti laka. Predstavljen je bil celoten potek predelave, od opisa trenutnega postopka merjenja, teoretičnega delovanja spektrometra in končne izdelave aplikacije. V aplikaciji smo uporabili robota UR5, ki je manipuliral z merilno sondo spektrometra. Spektrometer smo krmilili v uporabniškem vmesniku, narejenem v programu Microsoft Excel, ustvarjenem z uporabo kode Excel VBA. Vmesnik je pošiljal ukaze preko protokola OPC UA do krmilnika PLK. Slednji je preko Profinet povezave komuniciral z robotom. Za lažjo izvedbo mrežnega testa smo v Excel vmesniku naredili uporabniško pomoč, ki pomaga tudi pri avtomatskem generiranju poročil o rezultatih obeh testiranj. Na koncu smo koncept preverili z analizo MSA, ki je potrdila ponovljivost in natančnost nove avtomatske kolaborativne aplikacije.At company Hella Saturnus Slovenija d.o.o., the quality of lacquered surface area is being determined by manual processes. This document describes the process of lacquer thickness measurement with spectrometer Transpec Lite and Cross-cut test, a method for assessing the resistance of lacquer coating. The goal of this thesis was to automate these manual processes. We developed a concept of a collaborative robot application for determining the quality of lacquered surface area on teh company products. The products are called radomes. They represent an automobile emblem, mounted on the front of the car. The collaborative application concept used the existing equipment of the manual quality process. The thesis presents the whole development process, from describing the current measurement process, the theoretical background of spectrometer operations and the final development of the application. In the application we used collaborative robotUR5, which held the probe of the Transpec Lite spectrometer. The spectrometer is controlled by a user interface made in Microsoft Excel, developed in Excel VBA code. The interface communicated through OPC UA protocol with the Siemens PLC. The latter communicated with the UR5 robot through Profinet protocol. The user interface also features help to correctly carry out the Cross-cut test, which also helps with automatic generation of the results of both tests. Finally, we evaluated the concept with the MSA analysis, which confirmed the reliability and accuracy of the newly developed automatic collaborative application
Analysis of a device for the measurement of the resistance of the electric motor windings
Upornost navitja je ena izmed najpomembnejših lastnosti elektromotorjev, ki jo potrebujemo za presojo, ali je motor ustrezen. Upornost merimo s štiri-točkovno metodo merjenja upornosti. Diplomska naloga se osredotoča na probleme, s katerimi se srečujemo v laboratoriju podjetja pri meritvah upornosti navitja.
Naloge smo se lotili pri predstavitvi najpogostejših meritev v laboratoriju in kalibraciji laboratorijske naprave ter mikroohmmetra z uporabo referenčnih uporov. S tem smo preverili ustreznost naprav za izvajanje nadaljnjih poizkusov in raziskav.
Nato smo se osredotočili na vpliv segrevanja navitja zaradi merilnega toka. Če želimo izmeriti upornost navitja, moramo skozenj spuščati nek tok. Vendar če je ta tok prevelik, lahko pride do nezaželenega gretja navitja, ki povzroča napačno izmerjene vrednosti. Ugotovili smo, da je ta problem bolj izrazit pri večjih upornostih, saj se takrat troši več moči na navitju. Določili smo, da se upornosti nad 100 mΩ meri z merilnim tokom 1 A. S termočleni smo tudi preverili, koliko se stator motorja segreje pri različnih merilnih tokovih.
Preverili smo tudi, kako ničelna napetost vpliva na meritve na dveh laboratorijskih napravah in primerjali napravo z merilnim območjem 10 V in 300 V. Opazili smo, da ima naprava z višjim merilnim območjem precej večjo ničelno napetost in zato brez ustreznih rešitev ni primerna za manjše upornosti, saj ničelna napetost, izmerjena ob kalibraciji naprave, morda ni več ista. Implementirali smo tudi kompenzacijo ničelne napetosti pred vsako meritvijo upornosti.
Z odstranitvijo rotorja smo hoteli ugotoviti, če se s spremembo induktivnosti spremeni tudi upornost. Ob zmanjšanju induktivnosti za petino, bistvene razlike v upornosti nismo opazili. Zaključili smo, da induktivnost nima bistvenega vpliva na upornost, pri vrednostih, s katerimi se srečujemo v laboratoriju.
Nazadnje smo še s simulatorjem vezij preverili, kako kontaktne upornosti in upornosti žic vplivajo na izmerjeno upornost pri motorjih z dvema navitjema. Opazili smo, da kontaktne upornosti in upornosti žic z vrednostjo manj kot nekaj mΩ, nimajo pomembnega vpliva na rezultat. Ugotovili pa smo, da če sta dve izmed upornosti več kot 5mΩ, pridemo lahko hitro do napake 2%, ki jo morda ne opazimo brez natančnejše analize.Winding resistance is one of the most important characteristics of electric motors, which we need to judge whether the motor is adequate. Resistance is measured using the four-point resistance measurement method. The diploma thesis focuses on the resistance measurement problems encountered at the company laboratory.
We tackled the tasks by presenting the most common measurements done in the laboratory and calibrating the laboratory device and the microohm-meter using reference resistors. With this, we checked the suitability of the devices for carrying out further tests and research.
Then we focused on the influence of winding heating due to the measuring current. If we want to measure the resistance of the winding, we have to pass some current through it. However, if this current is too high, unwanted heating of the winding may occur, causing incorrect measured values. We have found that this problem is more pronounced with higher resistances, since more power is wasted on the winding. We determined that resistances above 100 mΩ should be measured with a measuring current of 1 A. We also checked with thermocouples how much the motor stator heats up at different measuring currents.
We also checked how the offset voltage affects the measurements on two laboratory devices and compared the device with a measuring range of 10 V and 300 V. We noticed that a device with a higher measuring range has a much higher offset voltage and therefore, without suitable solutions, it is not adequate for lower resistances, since the offset voltage measured during device calibration may no longer be the same. We also implemented offset voltage compensation before each resistance measurement.
By removing the rotor, we wanted to find out if the change in inductance also changes the resistance. When reducing the inductance by a fifth, no significant difference in resistance was observed. We concluded that inductance has no significant effect on resistance with the values encountered in the laboratory.
Finally, we used the circuit simulator to check how contact resistances and wire resistances affect the measured resistance of motors with two windings. We noticed that contact resistances and wire resistances with a value of less than a few mΩ do not significantly affect the result. However, we have found that if two of the resistances are more than 5mΩ, we can quickly reach an error of 2%, which may not be noticed without a closer analysis
A thermometer for the water temperature measurement in the oceanography
Temperatura je ena najosnovnejših fizikalnih veličin in ima zelo pomembno vlogo tako v vsakodnevnem življenju, kot tudi pri nastanku, evoluciji in obstoju življenja na Zemlji. Oceani pokrivajo 71 % površina našega planeta in z povprečno globino 3,8 km tvorijo volumensko največji habitat na Zemlji. Natančno merjenje temperature voda ima zato veliko pomembnost, še posebej v današnjem času, ko je proučevanje klimatskih sprememb in globalno segrevanje zelo aktualno in, ko kakovostnih in sledljivih temperaturnih meritev oceanov še vedno zelo primanjkuje.
Zato se diplomsko delo osredotoča, na načrtovanje in izdelavo termometra za merjenje temperature vode v oceanografiji. Razviti termometer se nato preizkuša v temperaturnem območju med 0 °C in 40 °C ter pod tlakom do 150 barov.
Glavni del tega dela je tako namenjen metodologiji izbire komercialnega temperaturnega senzorja, njegovo adaptacijo za merjenje temperature v vodi, integracijo v celoten merilni sistem z mikrokrmilnikom in nenazadnje še testiranje njegovih zmogljivosti v akreditiranem laboratoriju.
Izdelan termometer temelji na polprevodniškem integriranem nizko cenovnem senzorju nove generacije. Ta se je izkazal kot odlična izbira z nadpovprečnimi zmogljivostmi za svoj cenovni razred in enostavno integracijo v merilni sistem.Temperature is one of the most basic physical quantities and plays a very important role both in everyday life, as well as in the origin, evolution and existence of life on Earth. Oceans cover 71% of the surface of our planet, and with an average depth of 3.8 km form the largest habitat in volume on Earth. Accurate temperature measurement of water has a very important role, especially nowadays, when studying climate change and global warming are very current topics and because there is still a lack of quality and traceable ocean temperature measurements.
Therefore, this study focuses on the design and development of thermometer for measuring the temperature of water in oceanography. The develop thermometer is then tested in temperature range between 0 ° C and 40 ° C and under a pressure of up to 150 bar.
The main part of this work is also dedicated to the methodology for selection of the right kind of commercial temperature sensor, and its adaptation for the measurement of temperature in water. It also focuses on the integration of the entire measurement system using microcontroller, and finally testing of its properties in an accredited laboratory.
The developed thermometer is based on a new generation of silicon bandgap temperature sensor, which is low in cost. This proved to be an excellent choice, because of its above average performance in its price range, and because of the simplicity of integration into the measuring system
