Increased pulmonary expression of CXCL10 and CCL2 in response to inhalation of attenuated mengovirus.

<p>Mice received intranasal inoculations of 106 PFU of attenuated mengovirus, vMC0, an equivalent amount of UV-inactivated vMC0, or vehicle (n = 6 mice per group). Levels of (A) CXCL10 (IP-10) and (B) CCL2 (MCP-1) mRNA in lungs on day 1 postinoculation were determined by real-time quantitative RT-PCR and normalized to β-actin mRNA levels. (C) CCL2 protein levels in BAL fluid on day 2 postinoculation were determined by ELISA. Data are the total amount of CCL2 recovered (ELISA values were multiplied by the BAL fluid volume). ND, not detectable. Data are presented as box plots. * <i>P</i><0.01 (vMC0 vs. vehicle or UV-inactivated vMC0).</p

Connectivity distributions for different network configurations.

    No full text
<p>The connectivity distribution for the shared characteristics network of group, treatment and disease (a) is described by a single scale distribution. The connectivity distribution for the preferential attachment network (c) is described by a power law distribution (The power law is of the form , with <i>α</i> = 2.83, <i>xmin</i> = 27, and <i>p value</i> = 0.138). For brevity, we do not include the shared characteristics networks generated by the: group, treatment; group, disease; disease, treatment.</p

Distribution of treatment success in oncology.

<p>Distribution of treatment success in oncology expressed as survival hazard ratio (HR), where higher HR indicates more successful treatments. The curve illustrates slightly increased number of successful treatment consisted with a power law function.</p

Network configurations of social interactions of RCTs in cancer*.

<p>Each node in the network represents a trial cited as the triplet denoting the COG it belongs to, the type of disease and treatment it studies. The networks have been constructed considering relationships between COG (a), type of disease (b), type of treatment (c), and the conjunction of all possible interactions (d). *For illustration reasons, only a limited number of RCTs is shown.</p
