Achenbach Syndrome: A Case Report
Introduction: Achenbach syndrome is a rare, benign condition characterized by painful discoloration ofa finger. Recognition of this syndrome prevents unnecessary costly workup and risky interventions.
Case Report: A healthy, 54-year-old female was transferred to our emergency department (ED) from acommunity ED for vascular evaluation of discoloration and numbness to her finger. After extensiveworkup, medical intervention, and consultation with multiple specialists, she was diagnosed withAchenbach syndrome.
Conclusion: Emergency physicians may practice good healthcare stewardship and limit invasive, potentially harmful, and expensive workup by reassuring patients of the benign nature of this condition

Ichtiologists of the Argentine: Guillermo Martínez Achenbach.
This series will include all those people who, by means of their contributions, greatand small, played a part in the consolidation of ichthyology in Argentina. The general plan of this work consists of individual factsheets containing a list ofworks by each author, along with reference bibliography and, whenever possible, personal pictures and additional material. The datasheets will be published primarily in chronological order, although this issubject to change by the availability of materials for successive editions. This work represents another approach for the recovery and revalorization of thosewho set the foundations of Argentine ichthyology while in diverse historicalcircumstances.I expect this to be the beginning of a major work that achieves the description ofsuch a significant part of the history of natural sciences in Argentina. Bewusstsein und Realität: die Frage des Idealismus in der frühen indischen Philosophie: [Consciousness and reality: the question of idealism in the early Indian philosophy]
The lecture was presented before the Gesellschaft für Philosophische Praxis, upon the invitation of Dr. Gerd Achenbach, founder and director of GPP (August 16, 2019).
Delivered in German, it was entitled Bewusstsein und Realität: die Frage des Idealismus in der frühen indischen Philosophie (Consciousness and Reality: the Question of Idealism in the early Indian Philosophy). There were about 40 people in attendance, mostly from the circle of Dr. Achenbach.
I owe thanks to Dr. Achenbach and his industrious assistant, Laura V. Adrian, who spent the three days prior to the talk translating my lecture and preparing me to deliver it in German. An audio recording (in German) is also available in DOOR.Not peer reviewedlectur
