Collection efficiency at near-bandgap wavelengths in actual Si solar cells
An expression for collection efficiency in actual Si solar cells is derived from the expression of Basore for inverse quantum efficiency vs. absorption depth at near-bandgap wavelengths. In the new expression, only internal rear-surface reflectance is an adjustable parameter. The new expression is used in reported actual Si solar cells, where it is compared to different approaches to evaluate collection efficiency including the linear fitting to inverse internal quantum efficiency versus absorption depth. This allows showing experimentally that these approaches are more liable to errors than the proposed expression for collection efficiency. © 2018 Author(s)
Saturation current as a function of sheet resistance in Si
We present the exact analytical solution to minority-carrier transport in the dark for non-uniformly doped Si regions in low-level injection, where bulk lifetime is inversely proportional to the square of doping density according to the Dziewior and Schmid model of Auger recombination and diffusivity is constant. The relevant expression for emitter saturation current density, J0em, can be set as a function of sheet resistance, RSHEET. Reported measured J0em(RSHEET)-curves in n- and p-type metal-coated emitters are matched by the presented J0em(RSHEET)-expression. To this aim, reported doping functions for band-gap narrowing are set as functions of RSHEET. The application range of the presented solution is checked. © 2018 Author(s)
Simple modeling of intrinsic bulk lifetime in doped silicon
Based on the data in the literature, in highly-doped Si, where Auger recombination predominates, one can observe that, while minority-carrier bulk lifetime is inversely proportional to the square of doping density, diffusivity can be taken as constant. This implies that, at high dopings, diffusion length can be considered as proportional to the reciprocal of doping density. In the present work, we assume that such a dependence of diffusion length on doping holds at lower dopings as well, in the case, where Auger recombination prevails. This allows deriving a very simple expression for Auger lifetime as a function of diffusivity that is used together with a reported expression for radiative lifetime to calculate intrinsic lifetime at all dopings. The new expression for intrinsic lifetime is consistent with reported doping functions for minority-carrier diffusivity and agrees with the data of lifetime for dopings higher than 4×1017 cm-3 in both p-type Si and n-type Si. We exploit the relevant theory to show that such results are due to the fact that, at those doping levels, both diffusivity and Auger recombination are enhanced by electron-hole interaction. © 2018 Author(s)
Arm-based control of a lower limb exoskeleton: Proof of concept of a novel approach based on the shoulder kinematics
Recognising the user’s locomotive intentions is crucial for the correct functionality of exoskeletons and active orthoses. For gait applications, extrapolating control inputs from the arm swing may be worthwhile, since arm oscillations naturally occur during human locomotion. A similar method would be unaffected by severe impairments of the lower limbs, and there is evidence suggesting enhanced results of gait rehabilitation when arms and legs exercise together. In this thesis, we propose a control algorithm to drive online a lower limb exoskeleton through the arm swing. Contrary to a previous EMG-based approach by La Scaleia et al. (2014), our algorithm exploits shoulder kinematic data to mimic “single swinging”, a natural mode of human interlimb coordination which is characterised by each arm swinging in-phase with the contralateral leg. Our proposed control architecture relies on two major modules: an Arm Observer and a Gait Generator. The Arm Observer consists of an adaptive frequency oscillator which extrapolates the frequency and phase of the arm swing by receiving online measurements of the angular shoulder position in the sagittal plane. This data is used by the Gait Generator to compute lower limb trajectories, based on regression models from a previous study by Koopman et al. (2014). We validated our controller through human-subject experiments, involving three participants walking on a treadmill with and without a lower limb exoskeleton, the Lopes II. When feed by data associated with natural walking, our adaptive frequency oscillator could very precisely replicate the arm swing frequency, stride cadence and timing of shoulder flexion peaks when walking faster than 0.5 m/s. When wearing the exoskeleton, our algorithm allowed the participants to cope with constant and variable treadmill velocities in the range of 0.5-1.25 m/s. As such, the results of this thesis show that our proposed approach can extend the applicability of arm-based control to walking speeds suitable for gait rehabilitation and assistance.Mechanical Engineering | BioMechanical Desig
Improving the Balance Between Patient Satisfaction and Efficient ED Throughput
Background: Patients come into the Emergency Department (ED)when they are having an emergent health concern. One role of the ED nurse is balancing the patient expectations of care with ensuring the flow of the department. The studies reviewed here examine the way that ED nurses can help to coordinate realistic expectations for patients as they are waiting to be seen.https://knowledgeconnection.mainehealth.org/nurseresidency/1021/thumbnail.jp
Porous silicon solar cells
We developed a new process for the fabrication of crystalline solar cell, based on an ultrathin silicon membrane, taking advantage of porous silicon technology. The suggested architecture allows the costs reduction of silicon based solar cell reusing the same wafer to produce a great number of membranes. The architectures combines the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cell, with the great absorption of porous silicon, and with a more efficient way to use the material. The new process faces the main challenge to achieve an effective and not expensive passivation of the porous silicon surface, in order to achieve an efficient photovoltaic device. At the same time the process suggests a smart way to selective doping of the macroporous silicon layers despite the through-going pores. © 2015 IEEE.

ABSTRACT
Literature is a work of art in the form of writing that has aesthetic value. The aesthetic value of literature can be seen from how language and words complement each other and produce beautiful works to be enjoyed, heard and felt. Literature (literary work) is a work of art that uses language as its medium. Literary language is a language that contains the meaning of verbs. Literary language is a special language that results from its composition and writing. Literature likes to offer beauty, give meaning to life (death, misery, or joy) or release the world of imagination, so that it can poison us without us knowing it. The researcher uses the concept of implied reader. Implied reader contains two aspects, namely the role of the reader in the structure of the text and the role of the reader in structuring the short story of the land of birds by Taufik Al-Hakim. Research In literary studies, Iser's reception aesthetic theory has a fairly wide place. The assumption of literature is that a corpus has two poles, which are called the artistic (author) and aesthetic (reader) poles. The reading process occurs in the interaction between the text and the reader. The psychology of the reader and the function of the structure of language are important things that influence the reading process of a reader.
After researching well and in detail the researchers found answers to the formulation of the problem regarding the reader's acceptance of the intrinsic elements in the novel. This acceptance is in the form of believing in the existence of human greed which is stated in the novel by Taufik Al-Hakim.
Then the reader's response to the short story of the land of birds varies, depending on the recipients from several circles, the researchers themselves understand the meaning that the author wants to convey so that the values in the short story are conveyed. The short story of the land of birds is a short story that has several message values that the author wants to convey to the reader. Researchers found several values contained in the novel including the motivation to always be optimistic, intelligence of mind and soul, motivation to always feel enough.

Popular knowledge in health and its doctor – patient relationship in gynecology and obstetrics
Recibido: 26/06/2023 Aceptado: 08/08/2023The current doctor faces a series of popular beliefs related to health and disease that the patient brings as part of his cultural baggage, for which he must be careful that said beliefs and his own beliefs do not affect the doctor-patient relationship, the which has great weight in the results of medical practice and represents one of the many challenges facing the physician of the 21st century. Emphasis is placed on the doctor-patient relationship as an important part of medical practice, as well as the relevance of the structure of medical practices, according to the perspective of the founding author of the intellective act. The purpose was to carry out a review of the authorial reflections that show a great concern for the training of the future doctor as a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, focused on the new expectations and challenges that are faced today. The investigation has been of a documentary nature. The methodology is to contrast the opinion of the cited authors. Based on this reflection, it has been concluded that: the clinical physician cannot be trained as a pure scientist, since clinical work must be based equally on science and art, and it is here where the relationship doctor-patient is part of this art, which strengthens professional medical education, especially in the clinical field, which cannot be limited to training future specialists in the acquisition of scientific knowledge, but must, in a mandatory manner, , extend to the humanistic values and attitudes that any doctor should have as a professional regarding medical practice and knowledge
