AN ERROR ANALYSES OF THE GERMAN PRONUNCIATION OF THE STUDENTS OF SMA NEGERI I OF MAJENE WEST SULAWESI
The purpose of this study was to describe the types of errors, errors frequency, and causes of errors pronunciation that made by the students of class XI exact 4 in 2014-2015 academic year. The subjects were students of class XI exact 4 with 29 students. The Sampling in this study used random sampling. The data was collected by using test instruments and sounds reording. Test instrument consisted of two forms, questions to be answered and short sentences to be ead by the students. The data analysis technique used simak method and padan articulatory phonetic.The results showed that therewere still a lot of students had difficulty in pronouncing the phonemes of the German wether vowel phonemes, diphthongs, single consonant, or consonant cluster. The errors included of vowel phonemes [œ] [ø:] were done by 29 (100%), [y] [y:] by 29 (100%), [ɛ ] by 28 (96.55%), and [əә] by 25 (83%). Error consonant phonemes are: [v], [ts], [z], [Ʒ ] by 29 (100%), [t] Auslaut by 28 (96.6%) and [ɐ ] by 25 (86.20 %). consonant cluster [ʃ l], [ʃ r], [fn], [ct], [nt] were done by 29 (100%). Based on the analysis, the types and causes of the error can be grouped. the types of those errors were based on linguistic taxonomy, surface strategy taxonomy, comparative taxonomy, communicative effect taxonomy, individual errors, and group errors. The factors that caused errors happened were mother tongue (BI) interference, second language(B2) interference, the wrong input, and the different amount of phonemes among bahasa Mndar, bahasa Indonesia and German.Keywords: Pronunciation, phonem
THE COHESIVE DEVICES IN FORSCHUNG GEGEN DAS VERGESSEN: EIN NEUES WISSENSCHAFTSZENTRUM BEKÄMPFT DEMENZERKRANGKUNGEN
This research aimed to describe (1) the forms of cohesive device, and (2) the functions of cohesive device in the text Forschung gegen das Vergessen: ein neues Wissenschaftszentrum bekämpft Demenzerkrangkungen. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The source of the research a text entitled Forschung gegen das Vergessen: ein neues Wissenschaftszentrum bekämpft Demenzerkrangkungen. The research data are language units consisting of cohesive device. The data were collected trough reading method. The data were analyzed by distributional method. The result showed that the form of cohesive device in the text are (1) conjunction (und, sowohl...als auch, bis, dass and um...zu), (2) adverb (bislang, damals, deshalb, darin, darunter, dazu, derzeit and wobei), (3) preposition (bei), (4) article (ihr, unser, der, die, das, and dies) and pronominal (er, sie, es, wir, der, die, das, wer, was, and man), (5) tense (Präsens, Präteritum, Perfekt, and Futur I), (6) modus (Indikativ dan Konjunkiv I), (7) repetition (repetition of the same word). Those form of cohesion had functions, as: (1) connector, (2) anaphoric reference, (3) cataphoric reference, (4) exophoric reference, (5) deixis, (6) time connector, (7) identification of information source, and (8) stressing. JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE IN THE FIELD STURM UND DRANG AND KLASSIK IN THE BOURDIEU’S GENETIC STRUCTURALISM IN PERSPECTIVE
This research aims to describe (1) habitus, (2) capital, and (3) field owned by Johann Wolfgang vonGoethe in the Sturm und Drang and Klassik arena.This research uses an expressive approach utilizing Pierre Bourdieu's genetic structuralism theory. The source of data in research is Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Biografie by H. Doering. Data obtained by reading and note technique. Data are analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The validity of data is obtained through semantic validity and consulted with experts (expert judgment). The reliability of data is obtained through the intrarater and interrater reliability. The result of this research showed as follows, (1) Goethe's habitus includes education from his family, readingand writing habits, social relation, and adventure. (2) Goethe's capital includes the economic capital (wealth and servant), social capital (princes, intellectuals, writers, artists, and womens he once loved), cultural capital (character traits inherited from his parents, writing skill, language skill, ownership of cultural objects, knowledge of literary and artistic works, general knowledge, and the skill of creating literary works), and symbolic capital (social status and high position). (3) The field that Goethe strives for is the field of literature in the Sturm und Drang period with his major works Sesenheimer Lieder, Götz von Berlichingen, and Die Leiden des jungen Werthers, and in the Klassik period with his major works Iphigenie auf Tauris, Faust I and II, Aus meinem Leben: Dichtung und Wahrheit, and West-östlicher Divan. THE EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE GERMAN READING SKILL OF THE 10TH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMA N 1 IMOGIRI BANTUL THROUGH THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING OF THE TYPE GROUP INVESTIGATION
The aims of this research are, to increase: (1) the activity of the grade X students of SMAN 1 Imogiri Bantul in reading skill German language learning, (2) The achievement of German language reading skill of grade X students of SMA N 1 I Imogiri Bantul through cooperative learning method type Group Investigation. This research is a classroom action research. The subject of this research is the grade X7 students of SMA N 1 Imogiri Bantul. The technique of data analysis in this research is descriptive qualitative. This classroom action research consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, reflection, and evaluation. The successful indicator of this research are: 1) a success process and 2) a success product. A success of process can be seen by the increasing of grade X7 SMA Negeri 1 Imogiri Bantul student’s activity on reading skill German language learning. A success product can be seen by the increasing of the achievement in German language reading skills. These results indicate that there is a corresponding increase in the indicator of success which is the success of the process that shows an improvement of student’s activity in X7 class of SMA Negeri 1 Imogiri Bantulon the learning process of reading skill German language. The success of a product is showed from the increasing in average reading skills of German language learners. The increased value is 17.5% which 64.80 before given action to 82.30 after the implementation of the action.Keywords: Classroom Action Research, Group Investigation, German Reading Skil
THE MOTIVE OF THE MAIN CHARACTER OF CAROLIN PHILIPPS’S TRÄUME WOHNEN ÜBERALL: A STUDY ON LITERARY PSYCHOLOGY
The aim of this research is to describe: (1) the characterization of the main character in the romance Träume Wohnen Überall by Carolin Philipps, (2) the motives of the main character in the romance Träume Wohnen Überall by Carolin Philipps. The approach used in this research is psychology approach. The source of the reseach is the romance Träume Wohnen Überall by Carolin Philipps published by Überreuter Wien in 2006. Tha data is in the form of words, frases, and sentences related to the motives of the main characters in the romance. The data is collected using reading and note-taking technique. The data is analyzed uisng qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The validity of this research is obtained through semantic validity. The realibility of this research is intrarater and interrater. The result of this result showed that (1) there are 10 characterizations of the main character as (a) loving, (b) impolite, (c) has a habit of living in dirtiness, (d) has a habit of smoking and addicted to Aurolac, (e) strong determination, (f) passive, (g) hot-tempered, (h) gentle, (i) independent, and (j) slick. (2) There are three types of motive from 30 acts, first, organic needs with 2 acts. Second, emergency motives consists of escape with 5 acts, combat with 7 acts, effort with 6 acts, and pursuit with 2 acts. THE USE OF GERMAN PARTICIPLES AS ADJECTIVES IN HERMANN HESSE’S SIDDHARTHA AND THEIR INDONESIAN EQUIVALENT
This research is a descriptive-qualitative research with the aim to describe (1) the use of German participle as an adjective and its equivalent in Indonesian, and (2) the meaning of German participle as an adjective and its equivalent in Indonesian. This study was a qualitative descriptive research. This research data were the entire lingual unit contained German participle in the Roman “Siddhartha” created by Hermann Hesse and its equivalent in Indonesian in the Roman Siddhartha. A read-note technique was used to collect the data. The methods used in this research were the agih (distributional method) and translational match. The results of this research showed that (1) the use of German participle as an adjective has various equivalent shapes in Indonesian. The use of predicative paired with the adjective phrase and noun phrases in Indonesian. The use of attributive paired with a noun phrase, clause, phrase extension clause that begin with the conjunction “yang” in Indonesian. The use of adverbial paired with prepositional phrases, adverb phrase and verb in Indonesian. (2) The meaning of German participle as an adjective has the same equivalent meaning in Indonesian. The meaning of I participle in German were (1) simultaneous, (2) ongoing (im Vollzug), (3) actively paired with (1) simultaneous, (2) ongoing, (3) active in Indonesian. The meaning of II participle in German as an adjective were (1) has been completed (abgeschlossen ist) and (2) anytime paired with the meaning (zu einer Zeit beliebigen) (1) has been completed and (3) anytime in Indonesian.Keywords: Participle, Adjective, Siddharth
