The theme of the bachelor`s thesis is “Factors influencing consumers behaviour within service ”Fashion model studio” provided by ”Gints BUDE fashion house” Ltd.” The purpose of the bachelor`s thesis is to explore factors influencing consumers behaviour when they choose service “Fashion model studio” in the company “Gints BUDE fashion house” Ltd. according to theoretical varieties, to bring out deficiencies and find solutions to avert them in order to improve the company`s performance and the quality level of the service. The paper is based on theoretical varieties, author`s observations and the empirical research in the company “Gints BUDE fashion house” Ltd. In the first part of the paper author explores internal and external factors influencing consumers behaviour. The second part includes a description of the company and provided service. In the third part are explored obtained research data to bring out deficiencies and find solutions to avert them in order to improve the company`s performance and the quality level of the service. A comparison of heuristic methods for polynomial regression model induction

    No full text
We compare four different heuristic methods for polynomial regression model induction. The methods are very different in their approaches. Our main concern in this study is in the differences of candidate model spaces the methods deal with (completely predefined versus non‐predefined), as well as search strategies used. We investigate the advantages and disadvantages of the approaches represented by the methods in terms of predictive error, complexity of the induced models and required computational resources. For empirical comparisons, we use twelve test problems. First Published Online: 14 Oct 201

Adaptive Regression and Classification Models with Applications in Insurance

    No full text
Nowadays, in the insurance industry the use of predictive modeling by means of regression and classification techniques is becoming increasingly important and popular. The success of an insurance company largely depends on the ability to perform such tasks as credibility estimation, determination of insurance premiums, estimation of probability of claim, detecting insurance fraud, managing insurance risk. This paper discusses regression and classification modeling for such types of prediction problems using the method of Adaptive Basis Function Constructio

Automatic extraction of geographic context from textual data

The amount of information on the internet grows exponentially. It isnot enough anymore just to have a general access to this huge amount of data, instead it is becoming a necessity to be able to use different kinds ofautomatic filters to retrieve just the information you actually want. Onesolution for the information filtering and retrieval is context analysis inwhich one of the contexts of interest is the geographic context. This paperstudies the problem and methodology of geoparsing – recognition of geographicnames in unstructured textual content for the aim of extracting geographiccontext. A prototype implementation of a geoparsing system, capable ofautomatically analyzing unstructured text, recognizing geographic informationand marking geographic names, is developed. Empirical evaluation of the systemusing articles from real-world news showed that the average quality of itsgeographic name recognition varies around 75-100%. Possible applications of thedeveloped prototype include automated grouping of any texts by their geographiccontexts (e.g., in news portals) and location-based search. Preliminary resultsof empirical evaluation showed that the average rate of its geographic namerecognition varies around 75-100%.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/csat.v2i1.13</p

Effects of Artifact Age on Maven Dependency Resolution

    No full text
This study conducts an investigation of the challenges faced by aging projects in Maven Central, focusing on the issue of missing dependencies. Using the Maven Explorer indexer, we systematically examine the correlation between the age of a project and the frequency of dependency resolution failures. Our analysis reveals a notable trend: older packages in Maven Central are more likely to encounter dependency resolution issues compared to newer ones. A widespread cause that was identified is the reliance on repositories without Transport Layer Security (TLS). Through this research, we highlight the prevalent issues within the Maven Central ecosystem and also offer insights into common causes of dependency resolution failures. We advocate for uploading new versions of libraries to multiple repositories to mitigate these issues. This study reviews the current state of Maven Central and extends some of the findings to other package management systems, contributing to a broader discourse on software longevity and dependency management.CSE3000 Research ProjectComputer Science and Engineerin

Embargo periods 4 gadi, kopš 12.05.2021.Vehicle mounted dashboard cameras or dashcams among other things can be characterized with the growing demand for vehicles around the world. These in size small vehicle innovations are gaining their popularity due to their style, functionality and overall performance. Dashcams and the contents of such perform fundamental sub-tasks that allows for the driver to identify dangerous events and above all protect from potentially unpleasant situations when asked for explanations. It is undoubtable that dashcams can be considered as innovations in their own way, however when exploited for all the wrong reasons such may infringe upon many rights and freedoms of persons concerned. The author of this work explores the concept of dashcam as data processing tool in relation to GDPR compliance. Moreover, the author outlines some of the challenges that data controller may encounter when using a dashcam and above all the relationship between personal interests and the rights and freedoms of the society when evaluating both. The author of this work employs doctrinal as well as comparative research method to reach the conclusio
