Gas station refueling assistance: a mutual empowerment project
Get PDFThe purpose of this project was to increase the awareness of policies stemming from the Americans with Disabilities Act regarding refueling assistance for disabled drivers. The needs of physically disabled drivers at gasoline stations were articulated, along with the complications associated with instituting a change in current practices surrounding this issue. An online petition was formulated to generate interest and support about refueling assistance policies and the challenges faced by disabled drivers. During the spring of 2013, the collection of 107 electronic signatures were obtained and have subsequently been forwarded to The Department of Justice in an attempt to seek governmental help toward a solution for disabled drivers needing refueling assistance. A flyer was also created and distributed via email, telephone, and in-person to the directors/leaders of various Stanislaus County businesses, organizations, and groups that provide direct services to persons with physical disabilities or that are designed to ameliorate the situations of disenfranchised individuals. This project culminated with a speech delivered by this author at The Disability Resource Agency for Independent Living’s (DRAIL) 5th Annual Cesar Chavez Celebration Event in Modesto, California. The flyer created by this writer was distributed at DRAIL’s event and distributed to community constituents. The aforementioned celebratory event served as a public platform to promote awareness and recommend a refueling volunteer program entitled, The Mutual Empowerment Project (MEP). MEP would potentially include volunteers from public service organizations, local businesses, and groups that support persons with disabilities. The attending participants shared their ideas and opinions with this presenter during the event. As a result of this project, numerous county residents were informed about this topic and the recommendation for creating a volunteer program (MEP) to assist drivers who have physical challenges was positively received

No full textxi, 38 p.The author describes the inspiration for her collection of poem:, “for my Senior Individualized Project (SIP), I reached out to five Nepali women writers, Bartika Eam Rai, Bhrikuti Rai, Shradha Ghale, Ujjwala Maharjan and Yukta Bajracharya, whose writings have impacted me as a woman as well as a writer. I interviewed them about their personal journeys of becoming writers, what it means to be Nepali women who write and where the future of writing is going for women in Nepal. I connected the different interactions I gathered through these interviews with my own personal experience of being a Nepali woman who writes and gave birth to these poems. I will always be grateful to these authors for letting me ask them questions about Nepali womanhood and writing for an entire hour.
An Era of Green Finance: A Bibliometric Analysis
No full text<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This study carries out a bibliometric analysis of the literature on environmentally friendly finance with a particular emphasis on publications that were made between the years 1974 and 2023. The examination of patterns and tendencies in previously published works can be done quantitatively using a method known as bibliometric analysis. This study investigates how publications are dispersed across different categories, including country, institution, and author, journal, and research topic. According to our findings, "green finance," which aims to promote environmentally sustainable economic growth, has seen a significant surge in popularity over the past few years. Most frequently referenced papers and journals, as well as most frequently used keywords, leading researchers, conceptual structure, and thematic evolution, are uncovered in this research. Findings on country-wise citations indicate that China is the most prolific country in green finance research, followed by the United Kingdom and Pakistan, respectively. Additionally, the report highlights a growing interest in the role that financial institutions like banks and insurance companies play in supporting green financing. In general, this bibliometric study sheds useful light on the current state of research on environmentally friendly finance. Entanglement model of antibody viscosity
Get PDFAntibody solutions are typically much more viscous than solutions of globular proteins at equivalent volume fraction. Here we propose that this is due to molecular entanglements that are caused by the elongated shape and intrinsic flexibility of antibody molecules. We present a simple theory in which the antibodies are modeled as linear polymers that can grow via reversible bonds between the antigen binding domains. This mechanism explains the observation that relatively subtle changes to the interparticle interaction can lead to large changes in the viscosity. The theory explains the presence of distinct power law regimes in the concentration dependence of the viscosity as well as the correlation between the viscosity and the charge on the variable domain in our anti-streptavidin IgG1 model system
