The process of Jang Changsun’s winning gold medal in the 1966 Toledo World Amateur Wrestling Championship and its significance
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the process of Jang Changsun’s winning gold medal in the 1966 Toledo World Amateur Wrestling Championship and its meaning. [Methods] Jang Changsun and Katsumura Yasuo who had competed with Jang Changsun for the gold medal were selected as participants, a player and an executive who had participated in the Championship were selected as informants. Data had been collected by in-depth interview were analyzed firstly by using the Patton(1991)’s data analysis method, and the following conclusions were obtained by comparing with preceding studies, press releases, reports etc. [Results] Jang Changsun won a gold medal through the three stages of desperate struggles. The first struggle was to loose weight. Jang Changsun lost three times more weight than other players through fasting treatment, intensive training and dehydration in order to secure an advantageous position in the competition. His second struggle was the sparring itself. He made his mind to win gold medal 2 years before the Championship and started to strengthen his physical fitness and polish up his techniques to fight with strong players from powerful nation of wrestling. He finished the sparring by winning 4 games and tieing 2 games resulting in the same deduction points with Katsumura. It was inevitable for him to fight desperately to lose weight again to get gold medal. He eventually won the gold medal by losing his weight until he fainted because of injuries and serious dehydration. [Conclusion] The first gold medalist Jang Changsun contributed a lot to development of Korean sports by offering chance to consider significance of improving elite player’s exercising environment, scientific coaching, gaining self-confidence to win medal, and realizing the importance of sports informations.</jats:p

A Study on The Korean Folk Music 'BONG-JANG-CHUI' : Focusing of The Hae-geum Player, Kim Ducjin's Melody
Bong-jang-chui, as known as Bong-jang-chu, Bong-jak-chui, Bong-hwang-gok, Bong-jang-chui-gutgury, or Sae-taryeong(bird ballad), used to be very popular from late Chosun dynasty to Japanese colonial period. It is known as a predecessor of San-jo and had been developed in various forms in accordance with its musical instrument, style of performance, and contents. This thesis is about a musician Kim Dukjin, the initiator of 1930's early Hae-geum San-jo who had performed mostly in Kyeung-gi provence, and analysis of his music Go-ak(old music) Bong-jang-chui and Hea-geum Bong-jang-chui from his SP gramophone album, Colombia's edition.
Kim Dukjin, or Kim Dukjun, had released 19 sound sources from many Japanese recording companies such as Victor, Colombia, and so on. He also performed in Kyeongseong broadcasting station for about 8 years, from 1935 until 1943, with Bang Younghyeon, Lee Dongbeak, Lee Hwajoongsun, Han Sungjoon, Ji Yonggu, Jung Heasi, Ji Younghee, and Lee Sohyang.
The result of the analysis of his Go-ak Bong-jang-chui and Hae-geum Bong-jang-chui by its rhythm, note, and melody's beginging motive and cadance form is as follows. Go-ak Bong-jang-chui has Joong-mori rhythm and Bong-jang-chui melody and no Sae-sori melody. Also, it has variation of key which consists of Eb original - Bb original(Eb's dominant key) - eb original(an octave relationship with the first part) - Ab original (subdominant key with eb). Movement of tonic to a relative key, a change of tonic by changing couple of intervals not a whole position which is only possible for Hae-geum, is one of the transitions also shown in Han Bumsu's Hea-geum San-jo Jin-yang and is distinct with Si-na-wi, which is played with only one tonic. In addition, creating the unity by inserting the dominant note frequently before changing the note shows Kim Dukjin's musicianship.
Hea-geum Bong-jang-chui is made up of eight passages and has late Ja-jin-mori rhythm, no transitions, and eb origianal Nam-do interface-key scale(kyemean-key scale). However, as a typical Bong-jang-chui, it has Sae-sori melody which imitates the bird's note and Bong-jang-chui melody .
The analysis made it possible to find out, the similarity of Kim Dukjin's Bong-jang-chui and San-jo of nowadays. It had Joong-mori, Joongjoon-mori, and Jajin-mori rhythm as San-jo. According to masters testimony, early San-jo and Bong-jang-chui was indistinguishable in a musical or a terminological aspects, and the initiators of San-jo didn't bother to distinguish these two genres either. Besides, Kim Dukjin's Bong-jang-chui doesn't have the as perfect structure of introduction, development, turn and conclusion as San-jo but has it's own structure of melody. Kim Dukjin's Bong-jang-chui can be divided into passages in accordance with the notes well-organized beginning motive and cadence form. It has a beauty of form which is similar to San-jo's typical form of tension and relaxation.Ⅰ.

They had made the aesthetic effort to overcome the difficulties of unstable period. The era that they had lived in was 'the era of Independence and the Korean war'. They were well aware of the declining situation at the time as the leading intellectuals. Korea in 1930's and 1950's was confused by Foreign intervention. There was an anxious mind and affliction about the era in their criticism of poems and poetry. Oh, Jang-hwan and Park, In-hwan received the different evaluations in their poetry. In short, it is generally said for Oh, Jang-hwan' poetry to turn from decadence into critical realism. On the other hand, it is generally said for Park, In-hwan to turn from realist in early poems into modernist in the later. But their criticism of poems reveal that it is true poetry to evoke the echo over pain and anguish of their own era. First of all they have common consciousness in the phase of embodying the unstable position of poetic subject. The eyes of poetic subject is dispersive in their poetry. Those are not centripetal. Their poetry derive the sensibility of anxiety and the dissolution of consciousness from the fragmental eyes. It is very important at the point of representing 'Reality of the world'. And then the eyes of subject in their poetry gaze vulgar bodies. Vulgar body in their poetry show in prostitute, diseased bodies, an alcoholic and etc. Through it is exposed to curious feelings by vulgar bodies, we won't fall into fetishism. It is a possibility of negative poetry. The negative consciousness in Oh, Jang-hwan's and Park, In-hwan's poetry differs from decadent and nihilism. There are an casual potentiality to find out after the subject has extremely denied himself

Analýza mediálního pokrytí dobytí Kábulu afghánským Tálibánem v pákistánských urdských novinách Jang
in Czech Tato studie zkoumá redakční zpravodajství novin Jang o převzetí moci Afghánistánem Talibanem nad Kábulem v roce 2021. Department of JournalismKatedra žurnalistikyFakulta sociálních vědFaculty of Social Science
