Don Quijote y Roque Guinart frente al estilo de vida de los poderosos
No full textThe apocryphal Second part of don Quixote altered many of the purposes of Cervantes. He changed the destination of his hero. As observed by don Quixote when visiting a printinghouse, its publication took place in Barcelona. The author gave prominence to a town as in picaresque novels. However, he did not modify his attitude towards the behaviour of the influential people, in keeping with Erasmus’ concept of stupidity. Surely, Cervantes reaffirmed his approach to the golden age through the presence of Roque Guinart, the only historical character who appears in the novel. This paper examines how the influential people behave in front of don Quixote, and how his performance is similar to that of Roque Guinart.La Segunda parte apócrifa del Quijote modificó muchos de los propósitos de Cervantes. Varió el destino de su héroe. Sostuvo que la publicación tuvo lugar en Barcelona como don Quijote observa en la visita a una imprenta. Dio protagonismo a un núcleo urbano como en la novela picaresca. Ahora bien, no cambió su actitud frente a los poderosos que actuaban en la línea de la estulticia de Erasmo. Seguramente reafirmó su planteamiento de la Edad Dorada con la presencia de Roque Guinart, el único personaje histórico, que aparece en la novela. Este trabajo analiza cómo se comportan los poderosos frente a don Quijote y cómo coincide su actuación con la de Roque Guinart

Esta delimitación permite acentuar distintas modulaciones del ethos investigativo que nos propone y amplificar la originalidad de su apuesta al hacerla dialogar con otras perspectivas filosóficas que resultan afines a ella y no son explicitadas por la autora (Spinoza, Foucault). Considero que la perspectiva de Despret condensa de manera ejemplar las principales líneas de un ethos de investigación que despierta el deseo de sostenerlo saliendo de las encrucijadas actuales donde normalmente se lo aplasta o desprecia. En la introducción aclaro por qué me centro en la perspectiva de esta autora en particular, y en las consideraciones finales sugiero un enlace con mi propia propuesta de investigación que vengo desarrollando hace tiempo.The text presents the perspective of the philosopher and scientist Vinciane Despret from four topics that intersect and traverse differentially all her research: inherit, interest, trust, sustain. This delimitation allows us to trace different modulations of the investigative ethos that she proposes and amplify the originality of her bet by making it dialogue with other philosophical perspectives that are related to hers and are not made explicit by the author (Spinoza, Foucault). I consider that Despret's perspective condenses in an exemplary way the main lines of a research ethos that awakens the desire to sustain it by leaving the current crossroads where it is normally crushed or despised. Divergências territoriais do patrimônio socioambiental : Quilombo São Roque e os Parques Nacionais Aparados da Serra e Serra Geral
No full textEste trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a situação da comunidade quilombola de São Roque, localizada em Praia Grande, Santa Catarina, que vive um conflito socioambiental com as unidades de conservação que se sobrepõem ao seu território tradicional. Para isso, foram abordados os conceitos de patrimônio, território, identidade e memória, que são fundamentais para compreender a diversidade e a sustentabilidade dos territórios tradicionais. A metodologia utilizada foi a revisão bibliográfica e documental, baseada em fontes acadêmicas, institucionais e midiáticas. O resultado da pesquisa mostrou que a comunidade possui um rico patrimônio socioambiental, que expressa a sua identidade, a sua memória social e a sua relação com o território, mas que esse patrimônio tem sido afetado pela criação e pela gestão dos parques nacionais que se sobrepõem ao seu território, sem a sua participação e consentimento. A conclusão do trabalho sugeriu algumas possibilidades de diálogo e cooperação entre os diferentes atores envolvidos no contexto ambiental brasileiro, baseadas no respeito à diversidade cultural e na garantia da cidadania. O trabalho contribuiu para ampliar o conhecimento sobre essa realidade e para estimular o debate sobre os desafios e as potencialidades das comunidades tradicionais no contexto ambiental brasileiro.This work aimed to analyze the situation of the quilombola community of São Roque in Praia Grande, Santa Catarina, which is experiencing a socio-environmental conflict due to overlapping conservation units on its traditional territory. To achieve this, concepts of heritage, territory, identity, and memory were addressed, which are essential for understanding the diversity and sustainability of traditional territories. The methodology used was literature and document review, based on academic, institutional, and media sources. The research results demonstrated that the community possesses a rich socio-environmental heritage that reflects its identity, social memory, and relationship with the territory, but this heritage has been affected by the establishment and management of national parks that overlap its territory without its participation and consent. The conclusion of the work proposed some possibilities for dialogue and cooperation among different actors involved in the Brazilian environmental context, grounded in the respect for cultural diversity and the assurance of citizenship. The work contributed to expanding the knowledge about this reality and to stimulating the discussion about the challenges and potentials of traditional communities in the Brazilian environmental context

No full textIn this article, the static analysis of sandwich plates is performed by radial basis functions collocation, according to the Murakami's Zig-Zag function theory. The Murakami's Zig-Zag function theory accounts for through-the-thickness deformation, by considering a Zig-Zag evolution of the transverse displacement with the thickness coordinate. Analysis of long-term precipitation sequencing patterns in North America
No full textPrecipitation sequencing, or the overall temporal pattern of precipitation events and the persistence of those events, is an important factor in describing nonstationarity in climate variability. It is a vital, yet often overlooked part of developing long-term climate predictions. Precipitation sequencing, which is based on rainfall of all magnitudes, is not well understood in part because much of recent research has focused on changes solely in extreme precipitation. This study examines precipitation sequencing pattern changes in North America over a study period of 1880-2010, and compares sequencing changes for both nonextreme and extreme rainfall. Results reveal nonstationarity in precipitation sequencing in North America and indicate that changes in non-extreme rainfall are greater in magnitude and more prevalent than those in extreme rainfall. Analysis of the spatial variation of non-extreme precipitation sequencing reveals both continent-scale trends and, unexpectedly, strongly localized, regional trends. Results not only validate questions about the assumption of stationarity in climate models and studies but illustrate the importance of conducting precipitation studies at the proper scale in order to capture significant local trends. Incorporation of both elements into climate models can improve the robustness of long-term predictions. Results from this analysis reveal the need for increased study of non-extreme rainfall and for moving away from the assumption of stationarity in precipitation patterns when developing climate predictions. Subvertir el huracán: la performance de la poesía como acción política en la obra de Roque Salas Rivera
No full textIn this essay, I analyze while they sleep (under the bed is another country) by Puerto Rican author Roque Salas Rivera, in order to dissect certain discursive strategies grounded in performance as an aesthetic practice (Diana Taylor) within the book. To do so, I identify zones of political subversion in the book as an object, through the interpretation of its format, design, and accompanying artwork. Additionally, I evaluate the different possibilities that arise from the use of two languages to dismantle binary colonial notions. I identify the concepts subverting the hurricane/subverting the book as literary exercises of political action. Through this analysis, I propose that the author experiments with constructing a space where the temporality of the meteorological phenomenon (in a past that repeats itself) and the temporality of recovery (in a future-present that never ends) coexist.En este ensayo analizo while they sleep (under the bed is another country) del autor puertorriqueño Roque Salas Rivera, para diseccionar algunas estrategias discursivas fundamentadas en la performance como práctica estética (Diane Taylor) dentro del libro. Para ello, identifico zonas de subversión política en el libro como objeto, mediante la interpretación del formato, el diseño y el arte que lo complementa. Además, evalúo las diferentes posibilidades que se desprenden del uso de dos lenguas, para desarticular las nociones coloniales binarias. Identifico los conceptos subvertir el huracán/subvertir el libro como ejercicios literarios de acción política. A través de este análisis propongo que el autor experimenta la construcción de un lugar donde coexisten el tiempo del fenómeno meteorológico (en un pasado que se repite) y el tiempo de la recuperación (en un presente futuro que no termina)
