The article investigates widespread in Russian society of the XIX- early XX century phenomenon of unequal marriages between nobles and gypsies. The author examines the sources and mechanisms of formation of the image of the Gypsy women in of that time society. In this context it is important to determine the place of Gypsy choirs in the life of Russian aristocracy. It is possible, in particular through the analysis of that period literature. Gypsy theme (including social problem of unequal marriages) was one of the key themes in Russian literature and gypsy woman was reflected in a romanticized image.Storòźko Tatiàna. Prevalence of visual impairment and severity of diabetic retinopathy in various ethnic groups in the UK
Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a leading cause of visual impairment (VI) in the working population. Minor ethnic groups are at increased risk of diabetes. Diabetic Retinopathy In Various Ethnic groups in the United Kingdom (DRIVE UK) is a cross-sectional study to estimate the prevalence of DR, VI and associated risk factors for sight threatening diabetic retinopathy (STDR) in Afro-Caribbeans (AC) and South Asians (SA) compared to Caucasians. People with diabetes in two regions in the United Kingdom who were screened and/or treated for DR from September 2008 to September 2009 were included in this study. VI and severe visual impairment (SVI) were defined as Snellen visual acuity of ≤ 6/18 and ≤ 6/60 respectively. DR was graded according to National Screening Committee (NSC) for diabetes guidelines UK.
There were 57,144 people on the diabetic register, of which retinopathy data was available from 50,285 (88.1%) subjects (type 1 n=3,323, type 2 n=46,962). In type 1 and type 2 diabetes, any DR was detected in 53.1%, 39.5%, diabetic maculopathy in 13.1%, 8.4% and STDR in 9.91%, 4.0% of people respectively. STDR was significantly more prevalent in the SA (10.3%) and AC (11.5%) populations compared to Caucasians (5.5%). Overall VI was significantly higher in the ethnic minority population. A total of 7.5% (95% CI 7.3, 7.8) people with diabetes were not eligible for driving based on their visual acuity, 3.4% (95% CI 3.2, 3.5) were classified as VI and 0.4% (95% CI 0.33, 0.44) as SVI. Risk factors for STDR were found to include longer duration of diabetes and higher mean HbA1c.
This study provides information that could be used to help develop future service frameworks and guidelines for local health bodies responsible for delivery of end userservices. The study also supports the need to explore the role of inflammatory, genetic and epigenetic factors as markers for ethnic differences in DR and potential treatment avenues for diabetic retinopathy
Diet in Diabetes Simplified: Your Personal Diabetes Nutrition Coach. Sheryl Salis
The book “Diet in diabetes simplified, your personal diabetes nutrition coach” by author, Sheryl Salis[1] is the need of the hour as sixty million diabetic citizens of “The Diabetes Capital of the world” are projected to double to a hundred million diabetics in the year 2030.[2] With stalwarts of India forwarding the book as credible and ethical, the book succeeds in closing the gap between scientific dissemination of knowledge and practical messages that prompt behavioral modifications. It has been fore-worded by infamous diabetologists such as Dr. Mohan. V, Dr. Apsi. J, including top dieticians Dr. Jagmeet Madan and Dr. Gourpriya Koppikar

Do Labor Intensive Industries Generate Employment? Evidence from firm level survey in India
This study attempts to address the issue of declining labour intensity in Indias organized manufacturing in order to understand the constraints on employment generation in the labour intensive sectors. Using primary survey data covering 252 labour intensive manufacturing-exporting firms across five sectorsapparel, leather, gems and jewellery, sports goods, and bicycles for 2005-06 an attempt is made to find out the factors which constrain employment generation in labour intensive firms. The study shows several constraints in the path of employment generation in labour intensive sectorsnon-availability of trained skilled workers, infrastructure bottlenecks, low levels of investment, labour rules and regulations, and a noncompetitive export orientation. The study suggests a set of policy initiatives to improve the employment potential of these sectors.Indian Organized Manufacturing, Labor Intensity, Employment Growth, Skilled workforce, Wage Structure, Export status, Machinery Usage, Labor laws, South Asia
An Exhilarating Evolution
Open Education Resources (OER) are celebrated for sharing knowledge further than ever before across the digital world. Remixed OER have the bonus of being quick to produce. With our eyes captivated on moving far and fast, we may overlook another remarkable motion spinning within OER themselves: the same technology and licensing that enables easy dissemination also accelerates the potential rate of revision. The switch from fixed, hard-copy textbooks to author-controlled, publishing platforms produces exciting opportunities for writers to refine their work across multiple, frequent iterations. Such potential for rapid change invites the question, if remixed OER can evolve quickly, what measures can creators take at conception to enable a positive, long-term development?
To answer this question, I trace my experiences as leader of a team who produced four iterations of the remixed open textbook Academic Success (Hargreaves et al., 2021) over four years. I share pragmatically my learnings about growth, change and time when I switched from regarding Academic Success as a single, fixed publication to a living, continually-evolving, educational resource. I present six recommendations that future creative teams may incorporate in their own resources to smooth development
بشریٰ رحمٰن کے ناول "پیاسی" کا فکری و فنی جائزہ : INTELLECTUAL AND ARTISTIC REVIEW OF BUSHRA REHMAN'S NOVEL "PIYASI"
Bushra Rehman is a unique novelist who sheds light on our social issues, economic and political life events through his novels. At the same time, she makes the exploitation of women a topic because she is a keen observer of women's psychology. This is the language that is spoken in our society. The novel theme of the novel depicts love, social issues and the mental struggles of middle-class women and the exploitation of women. The extension of rights is wide. This novel is a beautiful confluence of such topics. In this novel, there is height and depth of art in the mind of the author and the plot keeps moving forward at its own pace. The novel is also alive
Effective Detection and Prevention of Ddos Based on Big Data-Mapreduce
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks is large-scale cooperative attacks launched from a large number of compromised hosts called Zombies are a major threat to Internet services. As the serious damage caused by DDoS attacks increases, the rapid detection and the proper response mechanisms are urgent. However, existing security methodologies do not provide effective defense against these attacks, or the defense capability of some mechanisms is only limited to specific DDoS attacks. Therefore, keeping this problem in view author presents various significant areas where data mining techniques seem to be a strong candidate for detecting and preventing DDoS attack. The new proposed methodology can perform detecting and preventing DDoS attack using MapReduce concepts in Big Data. Thus the methodology can implement for both detecting and preventing methodologies

Organic farming practices for rice under diversified cropping systems in humid tropics.
In Asia rice farming is confined to small farmers who are compelled to obtain higher productivity for their livelihood. In general there is an increase in area and production of rice in India. In the humid tropical region of Kerala State the area has been drastically reduced inspite of the efforts of the local Government. Crop diversification is a practical means to enhance the crop output. In conventional rice farming the usage of plant protection chemicals is very high and can cause an irreversible change in the wetland ecosystem. Diversified cropping of rice in rainy season and two subsequent vegetable crops viz cucumber and okra in the post rainy and summer seasons under organic farming practices was tested at the Cropping Systems Research Centre of Kerala Agricultural University for a consecutive period of five years from 2003-04. The experiment comprise of seven treatments in which five organic farming practices were compared with integrated nutrient management and full chemical nutrient practices. The study revealed that from the third year onwards organic farming and integrated nutrient management practice gave comparable yield as that of full nutrient as chemical inputs. The N and P content in the soil was enhanced while the K content was slightly reduced during the end of experimentation. There was an appreciable improvement in organic carbon in all the treatments through crop residue management

RESPONSE OF WETLAND RICE TO LONG TERM FERTILIZATION IN AN ENTISOL
The study was initiated in 1977 on a Typic tropofluvent soil at the Cropping Systems Research Centre, Karamana, on a rice- rice (Oryza sativa cv. Aiswarya, medium duration) cropping system . The experiment was laid out in a partially confounded factorial design with three levels of N (40,80 and 120 kgha -1), 3 levels of P2O5 (0, 40, and 80 kgha -1), and two levels of K2O (0 and 40 kgha -1). op. After 30 years of cropping grain yield and dry matter production were markedly reduced in treatments continuously depleted of P, but with adequate N and K. The percent increase in grain yield over control increased with incremental additions of N and P but the magnitude of increase was more for P levels. The agronomic efficiency was higher at lower N and P levels but nutrient use efficiency decreased with increasing N, P and K levels. Skipping P significantly decreased N, P and K uptake. For each ton of grain produced, the total nutrient uptake increased with an increasing application levels. The N balance was always negative but phosphorus balance was negative only in control plots and increased to 13.52 kgha-1 annum-1 at P80. K balance was negative for both control and K added plots. Thus imbalanced and inadequate fertilization affects the yield response of wetland rice to nutrients. Though P is not generally a limiting nutrient in the acid entisols of India, its long term depletion was found to affect the crop response to N and K as well
