Development of a web application for displaying ESS statistical data
Cilj naloge je ustvariti interaktivno aplikacijo za prikazovanje statističnih podatkov, ki pohitri proces raziskovanja European Social Survey (ESS) podatkov. Vizualizacija podatkov je pomemben del analitičnega postopka. Z razvojem tehnologije je na voljo vedno več rešitev prikazovanja podatkov, pomembna funkcija, ki jo ponujajo, pa je interaktivnost, ki uporabniku omogoča spreminjati prikaze po svojih željah. Ker je razumevanje prebivalstva pomembno, obstaja danes veliko raziskav, ki s pomočjo anket raziskujejo njihove vrednote. ESS raziskuje evropsko prebivalstvo že od leta 2002 in ponuja veliko uvida v naše vrednote. V diplomski nalogi je predstavljen razvoj spletne aplikacije, ki prikazuje izbor ESS podatkov, s pomočjo programskega jezika Python in njegovih modulov Dash, Plotly Express in Pandas. Aplikacija ponuja štiri različne strani, na katerih so prikazani različni grafi. Podatki, ki jih uporabnik lahko prikaže, so povezani s temo političnega zaupanja. Z aplikacijo želim olajšati in pospešiti proces raziskovanja podatkov. Prikazi se posodabljajo dinamično z uporabnikovo izbiro spremenljivke in različnih filtrov, ki jih ponuja aplikacija. Programski jezik Python ponuja veliko izbire v ustvarjanju aplikacije in ima tudi dokaj razvite module za prikazovanje podatkov.The aim of this work is the creation of an interactive application for displaying statistical data, that speeds up research of European Social Survey (ESS) data. Data visualization is an important part of the analytical process. With the development of technology, there are ever more ways of representing data. Because understanding the populace is important, there is much research done about their values with the help of surveys. ESS has been exploring the European populace since the year 2002 and offers much insight into our values. In this dissertation is represented the development of a web app that displays ESS data with the help of Python and its modules Dash, Plotly Express and Pandas. The app offers 4 different pages which show various graphs. Data that can be shown is correlated to political trust. My aim in creating this app is the speeding up the data research process. The visualizations updates dynamically with the user’s choices of variables and various filters that the app offers. Python offers many choices in the creating process of an app and has developed modules for visualizing data
Creative problem defining and solving relating to the financial consequences of the epidemic covid-19 in public sector
V delu diplomskega projekta obravnavamo epidemijo covida-19, ki je zajela večino držav po svetu, in katere posledice se čutijo po veliko podjetjih v gospodarskem sektorju. Ker nas zanima, ali se s podobnimi problemi, ki jih je s seboj prinesel covid-19, srečujejo tudi v javnem sektorju, natančneje v javnem zavodu X, smo opredelili probleme s pomočjo metod definiranja problemov in priložnosti. Kot vsa druga podjetja v gospodarstvu si tudi javna podjetja želijo ohraniti delovna mesta, dobro finančno stabilnost in pozitivno poslovanje. Ker je bil zavod X zaradi epidemije soočen z veliko spremembami, smo v nadaljevanju s pomočjo metod za generiranje idej poiskali najprimernejše rešitve za nekaj nastalih situacij. Izhajali smo iz zunanjega okolja zavoda, pri tehnikah pa so nam bili v pomoč tudi izkušeni strokovni sodelavci, da smo pridobili rezultate, ki smo jih predstavili v empiričnem delu dela diplomskega projekta. V tem delu diplomskega projekta smo prišli do zaključka, da je zelo pomemben člen vsakega uspešnega podjetja, naj bo to javno ali zasebno, ustvarjalnost in motiviranost zaposlenih, dober vodja in delo v timu, ki ni le strokovno podkovano, ampak tudi sproščeno, prijetno in fleksibilno. Vse to lahko pripomore k dobremu poslovanju podjetja. Finančne posledice epidemije covida-19 se lahko odpravijo v krajšem času kot sicer. Opisali smo, ali lahko naše hipoteze sprejmemo ali zavrnemo ter zakaj, prav tako pa smo predstavili nekaj rešitev, s pomočjo katerih bi si lahko zavod X pomagal med krizo, da bi poslovanje potekalo nemoteno in predvsem varno za vse zaposlene.This thesis deals with the covid-19 epidemic, which has affected most of the world’s countries, and the consequences of which are felt in many companies in the private sector. The thesis explores the question, whether the same problems covid-19 has caused in the private sector are also felt in the public sector, specifically in the public institution X. The problems have been defined via problem-defining methods and opportunities. Like all other private companies, public companies likewise seek to avoid layoffs, ensure good financial stability, and stay afloat. As institution X was faced with many changes, idea-generation methods were used to find the best solutions for some of the new challenges. The institutions outside environment served as a starting point and experienced experts helped with gathering results, which were later presented in the empiric part of the thesis. The results have shown that a vital part of every successful company, whether public or private, is creativity and motivation amongst employees, a good leader and relaxed, pleasant, and flexible teamwork with the appropriate professional expertise as a foundation. All this can contribute to a fruitful business. By conducting good business, the financial consequences of the covid-19 epidemic can be absolved sooner. The thesis describes whether and why its hypotheses have been confirmed or refuted and introduces some solutions, which could aid institution X during crises to ensure uninterrupted, and first and foremost safe, business operations for all employees
Degradation kinetics of ellagitannins
Tanini, kot je veskalagin, spadajo med zelo pomembne rastlinske metabolite, saj rastlino varujejo pred številnimi boleznimi in zajedalci. Hkrati imajo velik pomen v človeški prehrani zaradi svojih antioksidativnih in protivnetnih lastnosti. Odpornost bakterij na antibiotike dandanes predstavlja eno izmed največjih problematik, zato se v intenzivni vzreji živali h krmi namesto antibiotikov dodajajo tanini, saj imajo pomemben protibakterijski učinek. Zaradi vseh teh izjemnih lastnosti taninov smo se v diplomskem delu odločili raziskati, kako različni dejavniki vplivajo na razpad veskalagina in njegovih derivatov.
V diplomskem delu smo preučevali vpliv temperature, pH-ja, inertne atmosfere in koncentracije vodikovega peroksida na razpad veskalagina in veskalina. S pomočjo HPLC-UV/DAD smo pri valovni dolžini 280 nm pomerili kromatograme vzorcev veskalagina in veskalina pri različnih časovnih intervalih. Vzorce smo prepihovali z dušikom, da smo zagotovili inertno atmosfero, in jim dodali točno določeno koncentracijo vodikovega peroksida. Eksperimentalnim podatkom smo s pomočjo programa Dynafit in programa, ki smo ga spisali v programskem jeziku Python, globalno prilegali dva teoretična modela, s čimer smo pridobili kinetične parametre.
Iz rezultatov je razvidno, da veskalagin in veskalin pri višji temperaturi in pH-ju hitreje razpadata. Vidimo lahko tudi, da je razpad veskalagina in veskalina v inertni atmosferi zanemarljiv, v prisotnosti vodikovega peroksida pa oksidacija ne poteka le zaradi vodikovega peroksida, ampak ima zelo pomemben vpliv tudi avtokataliza. Model A, ki upošteva reakcijo avtokatalize, se eksperimentalnim podatkom veskalagina in veskalina odlično prilega in tudi globalno pridobljeni kinetični parametri oksidacije so med sabo v ustreznem razmerju.Tannins such as vescalagin are among the most important plant metabolites, as they protect the plant from many diseases and pests. At the same time, they are of great importance in the human diet due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The resistance of bacteria to antibiotics is one of the biggest problems today, which is why, in intensive animal breeding, tannins are added to the feed instead of antibiotics, as they have an important antibacterial effect. Because of all these exceptional properties of tannins, in this bachelor thesis we decided to investigate how various factors affect the degradation of vescalagin and its derivatives.
In the thesis, we studied the influence of temperature, pH, inert atmosphere and hydrogen peroxide concentration on the degradation of vescalagin and vescalin. Chromatograms of samples of vescalagin and vescalin were recorded at different time intervals using HPLC-UV/DAD at the wavelenght of 280 nm. The samples were purged with nitrogen to ensure an inert atmosphere and a specific concentration of hydrogen peroxide was added. Two theoretical models were globally fitted to the experimental data using the Dynafit program and the program, written in Python programming language, thereby obtaining kinetic parameters.
The results show that the degradation of vescalagin and vescalin in an inert atmosphere is negligible, and in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, oxidation is not only due to hydrogen peroxide, but autocatalysis also has a very important influence. Model A, which contains an autocatalysis element, perfectly fit the experimental data of vescalagin and vescalin, and the globally obtained oxidation kinetic parameters are also in a suitable relationship
Segmentation of online store market X
Razmere na trgu se nenehno spreminjajo. Ponudba izdelkov in storitev je vedno večja, odjemalci pa postajajo vedno zahtevnejši. Posledično se zaostruje konkurenčni boj med podjetji, ki si prizadevajo v največji možni meri zadovoljiti potrebe in želje odjemalca. Učinkovito segmentiranje trga je pri tem osnova za oblikovanje marketinškega spleta po meri odjemalcev v izbranih ciljnih segmentih.
V prvem delu diplomskega projekta predstavljamo teoretična izhodišča na področju segmentiranja in spletne prodajalne. Prikazujemo postopek segmentiranja, ki se začne z izbiro osnov za segmentiranje ter z izbiro ciljnih trgov, konča pa s tržnim pozicioniranjem. Opisujemo prednosti in slabosti spletne prodaje ter dejavnike, ki vplivajo na učinkovitost, predstavljamo pa tudi sodobne trende na področju spletnih prodajaln.
V drugem delu diplomskega projekta predstavljamo spletno prodajalno X, ki se ukvarja s proizvodnjo in prodajo izdelkov iz naravnih in ekoloških materialov. Trg izbranega podjetja bomo segmentirali in oblikovali tržne segmente, na osnovi katerih bo lahko podjetje učinkoviteje komuniciralo s ciljnimi segmenti, jim prilagodilo marketinške aktivnosti, posledično pa se bo povečala tudi prodaja.Market conditions are constantly changing. The offer of products and services is growing, and customers are becoming more and more demanding. As a result, the competition between companies, which strive to satisfy the needs and wishes of their customers as much as possible, is intensifying. Effective market segmentation is the basis for creating a customer-tailored marketing web in selected target segments.
In the first part of the diploma project, we present theoretical starting points in the field of segmentation and online shopping. Following that we describe the segmentation process, which begins with the selection of bases for segmentation and the selection of target markets, and ends with market positioning. Finally, we analyze the advantages and disadvantages of online sales and the factors that affect efficiency and modern trends in the field of online store.
In the second part of the diploma project, we present the online store X, which is engaged in the production of products using natural and organic materials. The products can be purchased in their online store. We propose the segmentation scheme and market segments for the company. On this basis the company will be able to communicate more efficiently with the target segments, adapt their marketing activities, and consequently increase sales
Shopping behaviour of consumers on social network services as shopping platforms
Družbena omrežja dandanes predstavljajo pomemben del vsake marketinške strategije podjetja. Niso več zgolj komunikacijsko orodje, temveč imajo pomembno vlogo pri nakupnem vedenju odjemalcev ter vplivajo na proces nakupnega odločanja. Nenehno se razvijajo v smeri čim bolj enostavne in personalizirane uporabniške izkušnje, z implementiranjem novih funkcij pa nakazujejo izrazit razvoj, usmerjen v vzpostavljanje platforme za nakupovanje. Integracija spletne prodaje in družbenih omrežij je za podjetja lahko učinkovita le, če dobro poznajo svoje ciljne skupine in njihovo nakupno vedenje, ki mu lahko prilagodijo marketinške strategije, in zagotovijo edinstveno nakupovalno izkušnjo.
V teoretičnem delu smo obravnavali družbena omrežja in pomen njihove uporabe za podjetja ter predstavili sodobne trende. Podrobneje smo analizirali vlogo družbenih omrežij kot komunikacijske platforme in kot platforme za nakupovanje. Predstavili smo teoretična izhodišča na področju vedenja odjemalcev na družbenih omrežjih ter opredelili segmente odjemalcev, preučili njihov odločitveni proces in nakupno vedenje. Posebej smo se osredotočili na ključne dejavnike nakupnega vedenja, kot so brskanje po izdelkih na družbenih omrežjih, elektronska komunikacija »od ust do ust«, informacije na družbenih omrežjih in nakupna namera.
V empiričnem delu smo raziskovali, kateri dejavniki hedonistične in utilitaristične motivacije odjemalce motivirajo, da brskajo po izdelkih na družbenih omrežjih ter kako to vpliva na njihovo nakupno namero in posredovanje informacij »od ust do ust«. Preučevali smo tudi, kako odjemalci dojemajo informacije na družbenih omrežjih in kako te vplivajo na brskanje po izdelkih na družbenih omrežjih in na nakupno namero odjemalcev.
Rezultati kažejo, da kakovost informacij in sprejemanje informacij pomembno vplivata na brskanje po izdelkih na družbenih omrežjih, medtem ko verodostojnost in uporabnost informacij nista statistično povezani z brskanjem. Ugotavljamo še, da informacije na družbenih omrežjih in brskanje po izdelkih na družbenih omrežjih vplivajo na nakupno namero odjemalcev, prav tako pa brskanje po izdelkih na družbenih omrežjih vpliva na posredovanje informacij »od ust do ust«.Social network services represent an important part of any company’s marketing strategy. They are no longer simply a means of communication, as they now play an important role in consumers\u27 shopping behaviour and influence their purchasing decision process. They are constantly being developed in the direction of the most simple and personalized user experience possible. With the implementation of new functions, they show distinct development aimed at establishing a shopping platform. The integration of online sales and social networks can only be effective for companies if they understand the shopping behaviour of their target groups, to which they can adapt marketing strategies and provide a unique shopping experience.
The theoretical part discusses social networks and the importance of their use for companies and presents modern trends. We analysed in more detail the role of social networks as communication platforms and shopping platforms. We presented theoretical starting points in shopping behaviour on social network services, defined customer segments, and studied their decision-making process and purchasing behaviour. The focus was specifically on key factors of shopping behaviour such as product browsing on social media, electronic word-of-mouth communication, information on social network services, and purchase intention.
In the empirical part, we investigated which factors of utilitarian motivation influence customers to browse products on social networks, and how this affects their purchase intention and electronic word-of-mouth communication. We also studied how consumers perceive information on social network services, and how this affects product browsing on social networks and purchase intention.
Results show that quality and acceptance of information significantly influence product browsing on social networks. Information credibility and usefulness are, however, not statistically related to browsing. Among the utilitarian motivation factors, we find that information accessibility, product variety, and personalized advertisements significantly impact browsing, while convenience is not statistically related to browsing. Adventure and fun, authority and status are hedonic motivation factors that have a significant impact on product browsing on social media, while trend spotting and socialization are not related to browsing. We also find that information on social network services and product browsing on social networks influence purchase intention, while product browsing on social networks influences electronic word-of-mouth communication
Wittgenstein and the meaning of life
V magistrski nalogi predstavim filozofijo Ludwiga Wittgensteina v delu Logično-filozofski traktat in jo primerjam z razvojem odgovorov, ki jih na t. i. življenjska vprašanja Wittgenstein ponuja v kasnejših delih, kot so Filozofske raziskave. Posvetim se pregledu raznolikega nabora interpretacij, s katerim sekundarna literatura pojasnjuje avtorjeve ideje, in predlagam mero previdnosti do tega, kako se tem idejam približevati. V nalogi se zgledujem po podvigu Raya Monka, ki v svoji obsežni biografski raziskavi avtorja poudarja »soodvisnosti« med njegovim delom in življenjem. To je še posebej pomembno, ker je želel Wittgenstein vsaj del svoje filozofije nakazati s smiselnim molkom, tako da jo moramo nenehno dopolnjevati z namigi iz dnevnikov, predavanj, pisem ter pričevanj kolegov. Naloga ponudi razlago, kaj je Wittgensteinov odgovor na vprašanje po smislu življenja, kakšna je geneza tega odgovora ter kasnejši razvoj, ko avtor v neki meri zavrne ideje svoje rane filozofije. Ta odgovor osvetljujem na ozadju temeljnih idej Wittgensteinove filozofije, od slikovne teorije ter misticizma do oblik življenja, družinskih podobnosti in teorije empatije.In this thesis, I present the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein in his work Tractatus LogicoPhilosophicus and compare it with the development of responses he offers to existential questions in his later works, such as Philosophical Investigations. I focus on reviewing the diverse range of interpretations that secondary literature uses to explain the author\u27s ideas and suggest a degree of caution in approaching these ideas. The thesis is inspired by Ray Monk\u27s endeavor, who, in his extensive biographical study of the author, emphasizes the "seeing of connections" between his work and life. This is particularly important because Wittgenstein intended to express at least part of his philosophy through meaningful silence, requiring us to constantly supplement it with hints from his diaries, lectures, letters, and testimonies from colleagues. The thesis offers an explanation of Wittgenstein\u27s answer to the question of the meaning of life, the genesis of this answer, and its later development when the author, to some extent, rejects the ideas of his early philosophy. I shed light on this answer against the background of the fundamental ideas of Wittgenstein\u27s philosophy, from the picture theory and mysticism to forms of life, family resemblances, and his theory of empathy
