An Assessment of Public Attitude and Perception Towards Urban and Roadside Trees in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail
Urban and roadside trees (URT) provide many benefits in terms of environment, economic, social and aesthetic. The purpose of this research project was to assess public attitudes and perceptions towards URT in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail based on the 18 importance and performance attributes listed in the questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using Microsoft Excel, and Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The relationship between importance of URT and performance of tree planting in TTDI was studied using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). Based on IPA, the most important dimension of URT was on environment benefit, meanwhile the least important dimension was on economic benefit

Corresponding Author The relationship between work ethic and justice perception in Islamic Azad University
ABSTRACT This study aims at investigating the relationship between work ethic and justice perception in the professors and employees of Islamic Azad Universities. The research methodology was descriptive-correlational and the data was collected via field procedure. The population of the study consisted of all the professors and employees of Islamic Azad Universities (N=60000). The participants of the study were 800 professors and employees who were selected from among the population based on cluster random sampling. The sample size was determined using Morgan table. 569 posted questionnaires were completed and returned by the participants. To assess work ethic and the ratio of justice perception, a summarized version of Ali's questionnaire (1998) and Starvan's employees' justice perception questionnaire (1996) were used, respectively. In order to assure the validity of the questionnaires, they were submitted to some professors in the department of Theology and Islamic Thoughts as well as some other experts. Subsequently, the experts' opinions regarding all the questionnaire items were applied in moderating the scales. The reliability of the scales in a sample group using Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated to be 0.83 and using test-retest method to be 0.76. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Qualitative data was described using percentage and frequency counts and quantitative data was illustrated using measures of central tendency and variability. Besides, based on the objectives of the study and data type, t test and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used as inferential statistics. The results showed that, out of the maximum mean score of 5 for work ethic, the participants' mean score was 4.09 with the standard deviation of 0.48. The participants' mean score of justice perception was 2.80 with the standard deviation of 0.70, out of maximum mean score of 5. The results of hypothesis tests revealed a weak positive correlation (r=0.280) between work ethic and justice perception in the professors and employees of (all participants) Islamic Azad University

Drivers Affecting the Users' Attitudes Towards Using Financial Services in Blockchain-Based Platforms
Research Article Hamed Heidari* Morteza Mousakhani** Abstract: Providing financial services on Blockchain-based platforms as a new approach to financial markets has a lot of room for growth. This demonstrates the need to study and identify the drivers of users' attitudes towards using Blockchain-based financial services. For this purpose, technology adoption models have been used. Using a combination of several technology adoption models, this research aims to study the factors affecting customers' intention to use financial services in Blockchain-based platforms to determine what factors drive users to use them. For this purpose, first, the literature was studied and a conceptual framework was extracted, and in accordance with the model, a structural equation model has been developed. The results have shown that the individual tendency to trust and also structural guarantees, directly affect initial trust and in the following users’ initial trust influences users' behavioral intentions. In addition, technological features and task characteristics, directly influence technology-task fit and technology-task fit affects users' behavioral intention. Furthermore, expecting performance directly affects the behavioral intention of users. This study has concluded that the propensity to use financial services in Blockchain-based platforms is under the influence of social needs and even Blockchain constraints cannot reduce the desire to use financial services based on this technology. * Ph.D. Student, Department of Information Technology Management, Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran. ** Faculty Member, Department of Management, Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran (Corresponding Author: [email protected]) , Iran. *** Faculty Member, Department of Information Technology Management, Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran. **** Faculty Member, Department of Management Faculty of Management, University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran. ****** Faculty Member, Department of Technology Management, Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran. Effect of first and second generation biodiesel blends on engine performance and emission
Azad, M ORCiD: 0000-0001-8258-6057; Rasul, M ORCiD: 0000-0001-8159-1321© 2016 Author(s).The biodiesel is a potential source of alternative fuel which can be used at different proportions with diesel fuel. This study experimentally investigated the effect of blend percentage on diesel engine performance and emission using first generation (soybean) and second generation (waste cooking) biodiesel. The characterization of the biodiesel was done according to ASTM and EN standards and compared with ultralow sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel. A multi-cylinder test bed engine coupled with electromagnetic dynamometer and 5 gas analyzer were used for engine performance and emission test. The investigation was made using B5, B10 and B15 blends for both biodiesels. The study found that brake power (BP) and brake torque (BT) slightly decreases and brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) slightly increases with an increase in biodiesel blends ratio. Besides, a significant reduction in exhaust emissions (except NOx emission) was found for both biodiesels compared to ULSD. Soybean biodiesel showed better engine performance and emissions reduction compared with waste cooking biodiesel. However, NOx emission for B5 waste cooking biodiesel was lower than soybean biodiesel

Childhood cancer and parental mental health: role of disease severity, socioeconomic status, and social dynamics
Ibrahim H, Ismail AA, Rahim NA, Iffland B, Neuner F. Childhood cancer and parental mental health: role of disease severity, socioeconomic status, and social dynamics. BMC Psychiatry . 2025;25(1): 42.BACKGROUND: The impact of childhood cancer extends beyond the affected child, significantly influencing the mental health of their families. Since research in psycho-oncology has been carried out almost exclusively in high-income countries, little is known about the impact of childhood cancer on the family level in low- and middle income countries (LMICs). This is a notable gap in the evidence-base, as many LMICs are collectivist cultures, where social and family networks are crucial elements of health care.; METHODS: This prospective, cross-sectional study examined the mental health of 307 Kurdish parents of children undergoing cancer treatment in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Data were collected through structured interviews at two major oncology hospitals in the KRI, utilizing standardized instruments to assess mental health symptoms, socioeconomic status, and social constraints. The study focused on understanding the effects of socioeconomic challenges, disease severity, and social support limitations on parental mental health.; RESULTS: Significant mental health challenges were observed among parents, with mothers experiencing higher symptom levels than fathers. Lower socioeconomic status was linked to poorer parental mental health. Additionally, parents of children with more severe cancer and those reporting their child's reduced engagement in daily activities experienced heightened mental health symptoms. Social constraints on expressing feelings about the child's illness further intensified parental stress, underscoring the cumulative impact of economic strain, disease severity, and limited social support on parental mental health.; CONCLUSIONS: The study highlights the intricate relationship between socioeconomic factors, the disease severity of the child, and social dynamics in shaping parental mental health in the context of pediatric cancer. Psychosocial interventions that target these specific stressors may aid in better supporting families, particularly those in low-resource settings. © 2025. The Author(s)
