Robust integrated lateral guidance and control of UAVs

    No full text
In this paper, a novel guidance scheme is presented for UAVs using the Integrated Guidance and Control (IGC) framework. The proposed guidance scheme is derived using H∞ Loop Shaping Design Procedure (LSDP). To recover from an initial cross track error, the proposed guidance algorithm produces such aileron commands that ensure the roll maneuvers without saturating the roll angle. The shaping of the open loop plant is carried out using the pre and post weights and then the robust stabilization is done by using the normalized left coprime factor uncertainty. The performance and robustness of the system are verified by introducing parametric uncertainties in to the system model. The results of the proposed scheme are verified by implementing it on a complete 6-DOF nonlinear model in the presence of wind disturbance. The simulation results indicate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed guidance algorithm

Supercapacitors: An Emerging Energy Storage System

    No full text
Electrochemical capacitors are known for their fast charging and superior energy storage capabilities and have emerged as a key energy storage solution for efficient and sustainable power management. This article comprehensively explores the fundamental principles, architectural advancements, and material innovations underpinning supercapacitor technology. It covers the evolution of supercapacitor performance, the comparison of pseudocapacitors, double-layer capacitors, electrolytes, and the integration of innovative nanostructured materials, such as carbon nanotubes, transition metal oxides, MXene, and graphene, and it investigates the hybrid systems that bridge the gap between capacitors and batteries. The article also discusses the future perspectives of supercapacitor technology. By examining emerging trends and recent research, this review provides a comprehensive overview of electrochemical capacitors as an emerging energy storage system.Financial support from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (FJC2020-043023-I) is acknowledged. With funding from the Spanish government through the ‘Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence’ accreditation (CEX2023-001263-S).Peer reviewe

GCC nations are transforming their energy industry and market around the world which is promising their economic efficiency and technology development. Nevertheless, this open energy market across the world has raised a question about energy security and power demand. This energy market globalization has pushed the GCC Nations to pay attention to the control of supply and demand of power. Interconnection of power network between the GCC Region is optimistic pace to secure the future anticipated power fallouts. And also installation of Renewable Energy projects will support GCC to accommodate their increasing power demand. This paper discusses about how the energy market globalization has affected the power supply and demand of GCC nations, their concerns and recent progress towards its resolution

Estimation of heritability and genetic advance for various metric traits in seven F2 populations of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

    No full text
Heritability estimates provide information about the traits that are transmitted from parents to their offsprings and it has a crucial role in selection criteria to improve grain yield. The purpose of the present study was to compute heritability and genetic advance of seven F2 populations derived through cross combinations of five parental varieties/lines of bread wheat Iqbal-2000, Lasani- 2008, 9444, 9432 and 9436. Data were recorded for seven metric traits: plant height, days to heading, flag leaf area, peduncle length, number of kernels per spike, kernel weight per spike and grain yield per plant. The estimates of heritability were low to high for all the traits studied except for kernel weight per spike which had a moderate to high value of heritability. Results depict that all the mentioned traits can be enhanced easily due to high values of heritability and phenotypic variations. The cross combinations 9436 × Iqbal-2000 and 9436 × Lasani-2008 had high heritability for most of the traits. Therefore, selection could be practiced among wheat crosses with special emphasis on crosses, namely 9436 × Iqbal-2000, to improve grain yield per plant

علامہ اقبال اور ابنِ خلدون کا عمرانیاتی فلسفہ

It is worth mentioning that there lies an acute resemblance in the philosophy of sociology between both the Muslim philosophers i.e Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Ibn-e-Khaldoon. Both these towering philosophers give, continuous efforts and ever moving attitude an ample emphasis for the survival of Group or community life .Ibn-e-Khaldoon’s philosophy is rational in nature while Iqbal’s metaphysical. But unanimously both the philosophers give paramount importance to the Religion of Islam to be adapted as a code of life for the people of their groups or communities. Ibn-e-khaldoon emphatically states that partisanship plays a key role in the evolution of civilization. Surprisingly enough, Iqbal's knowledge of the self is basically the evaluated form of partisanship. Above mentioned philosophers strongly weigh and recommend the Bedouin life style for the nourishment and inculcation of spiritual feelings for the people of their groups and communities. The under discussed research paper is a keen devour to project the ambling resemblance between the sociological philosophy of above mentioned Muslim Philosophers

Abstract: Present research was carried out to evaluate the comparative efficacy of five new insecticides viz., diafenthiuron (polo 50%SC), thiamethoxam (actara 25%WG), acetamiprid (diamond 20%SP), imidacloprid (confidor 20%SL) and thiacloprid (calypso 24 % OD) at field recommended doses against jassid, Amrasca devastans on cotton variety Bt- 121 grown at farmer field Chak No. 253/R.B, Faisalabad. Insecticides sprayed when population of jassid reached to economic threshold level (ETL) i.e., 1- 1.5/leaf. The data regarding mean number of jassid per leaf was taken and converted in to mean percentage mortality to find out differences among the treatments. The results of present study showed that Imidacloprid, diafenthiuron, acetamiprid and thiamethoxam were most effective insecticides against jassid up to seven days after application. While, Imidacloprid and diafenthiuron gave maximum mortality during first spray (92.42 and 88.56%) and second spray (90.87 and 85.67%) after 72 h of application

Food Preservation within Multi-Echelon Supply Chain Considering Single Setup and Multi-Deliveries of Unequal Lot Size

    No full text
Intricacy of the supply chains for deteriorating products, involving multiple retailers with unequal lot sizes and multiple deliveries is simplified in this article by optimizing the replenishment cycle, investment in preservation technology, and number of deliveries. This study proposes a multi-tier supply chain model consisting of a single manufacturer and multiple retailers. A single-setup multiple deliveries (SSMD) policy is adopted considering the synchronized cycle time of manufacturers with that of retailers and the delivery of unequal lot size for each retailer. Preservation technology is used at retailers to minimize the effects of deterioration in a way that the magnitude of decrease in deterioration reduces for additional investment in preservation technology. A centralized supply chain model is proposed by defining a nonlinear mathematical model for maximizing total profit through an analytical optimization technique and an algorithm. Numerical experiments are exhibited to validate the applications of the provided model. The results exhibit that the proposed preservation policy increases the product’s lifetime and the total profit by reducing the number of shipments/transportation and increasing the lot size. The SSMD policy helps to reduce the preservation cost and increase the total profit. Some managerial insights are provided for the decision makers for applying the proposed model
