The identity of asexual individuals and their functioning in close relationships
No full textNiniejsza rozprawa doktorska prezentuje doświadczenia osób aseksualnych dotyczące własnej tożsamości i bliskich relacji rozumianych w kategoriach relacji intymnych i romantycznych. Badania oparto na próbie 14 osób, będących częścią internetowej społeczności aseksualnej i zrekrutowanych na podstawie braku pociągu seksualnego. Aby dowiedzieć się w jaki sposób osoby aseksualne rozumieją swoją tożsamość i jaki jest jej wpływ na funkcjonowanie w bliskim związku, zastosowano Interpretacyjną Analizę Fenomenologiczną (IPA). Pozwala ona nie tylko przyjąć perspektywę badanego, ale przede wszystkim odkryć znaczenie i sens analizowanego zjawiska. Wyniki badania wzbogaciły wiedzę z zakresu aseksualności, zwłaszcza w kontekście problematyki bliskich związków, która jak wskazuje literatura przedmiotu, była dotychczas zaniedbywana. W obszernych wywiadach, osoby badane zaprezentowały swój sposób rozumienia tożsamości, swoją koncepcję miłości i idealnej relacji oraz dotychczasowe doświadczenia seksualne, bycia w związku i trudności z tym związane. Na tej podstawie, opracowano model negocjowania tożsamości aseksualnej. Jest on swoistym wkładem w dyskusję na temat aseksualności, jak i propozycją dla praktyki psychologicznej, szczególnie terapii par, w której jeden z partnerów posiada tożsamość aseksualną.The dissertation focuses on the experiences of asexual people concerning their identity as well as their intimate and romantic relationships. The study was conducted on a sample of 14 members of the Internet-based asexual community, who were recruited on the basis of absence of sexual attraction. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was applied in order to understand how asexual people understand their identity and how it influences their functioning in a close relationship. This type of analysis allows the researcher not only to adopt the perspective of the research participants, but above all to discover the meaning of the analysed phenomenon. The results of the research presented in the dissertation allow for better understanding of asexuality, especially in the context of problems relating to close relationships. These problems, as the review of the subject literature suggests, have been neglected so far. A new model of negotiating an asexual identity constructed by the author of the dissertation is based on in-depth interviews during which the research participants described their understanding of identity, the idea of love and ideal relationship, their sexual experiences, relationships experiences, and the difficulties they encountered. The model contributes to the discussion concerning the topic of asexuality and can also applied in psychological practice, especially in couples therapy when one partners in the couple is asexual

Films entitled Gleam, Scrap and Lost share many common features: creation of the hero’s outer world, extensive use of symbolism and condensation of events centered around one or two heroes. Particularly interesting mean used by Wacławek in endings of the films is the transformation of the presented world that can be named a scale change. Also on this basis director’s animations are metaphorically interpreted, showing their existential meaning, close to the tradition of Polish Animation School
The specific features of adolescent depression - from developmental reaction to clinical syndrome
No full textDepression belongs to the most common mental disorders of young people. Yet, its analysis has given rise to many controversies among specialists. One of the crucial raised issues is the question whether it is justified to apply the diagnosis of depression in this age group, considering the fact that intrapsychic mechanisms in adolescents are not yet mature. The theoretical problem arises: to what degree adolescent depression ought to be considered a clinical disorder, rather than a specific developmental reaction. In the present paper, the attempt has been undertaken to tackle the issue. It has been found that the diagnosis of adolescent depression cannot rely on clear-cut diagnostic criteria. Instead, it should rely on clinical assessment of an individual patient

No full textIn the article, the author attempts to answer the question to what extent Stefan Moraw- ski's and Grzegorz Sztabiński's views on neo-avant-garde art were convergent or identical. The first stage on the way to answering this question is the reconstruction of Grzegorz Sztabiński's standpoint on the crisis of culture and the role of neo-avant-garde art in it. The second stage is the reconstruction of Stefan Morawski's contexts of understanding the art practised by Grzegorz Szta- biński. The third one, which provides a fundamental answer to the question posed in the introduction, is the confrontation of the axiological dimension of neo-avant-garde art with postmodernist art. The author argues for axiological convergence in the decisions of Grzegorz Sztabiński and Stefan Morawski in favour of neo-avant-garde art confronted with postmodernist artW artykule autor podejmuje próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie na ile poglądy na sztukę neoawangardową Stefana Morawskiego i Grzegorza Sztabińskiego były zbieżne lub tożsame.
